The pizza fritter was one of the best pastries I've ever had. It's crunchy, soft, fluffy, crispy,…read moreslightly sweet yet savory. What in the world! Homemade cola was very cinnamony. Very cool vibes. Looks right out at the magnificent rocky nature! Nice staff as well. 5 star bakery!

We stopped into Fox and Oak twice on our trip, once on the way to Whistler and one on our way back…read moredown the Sea to Sky Highway to Vancouver. Starbuck's was Mr. B's favorite for coffee and we prefer the smaller independently owned coffee shops and Fox and Oak is a gem. Located in downtown Squamish, really on the outskirts of downtown. This tiny little spot has a long bar with seating and then a lovely patio. The staff at the register taking orders both times was so friendly, helpful and offered great recommendations. On our first visit it was a latte for Mr. B and a Chai Latte for me, both were creamy, filled with rich flavor without being bitter. We also shared a maple walnut donut. Oh it was so good. I can't say the last time I had a donut, but when in Canada, maple anything is always so good. The donut was light and had a lovely maple glaze on the top and then toasted walnuts. So good! On our second visit, we had the same drinks, the same Maple Walnut Donut and added a blueberry fritter. The fritter was crunchy on the outside, after the first bite we could see the layers of dough much like a croissant and in the middle were loads of fresh blueberries. Wow, fresh berries and not a sweet fake blueberry gel. It truly was scrumptious. Parking is on the street and can be tight, but both times we found parking even with a short walk. Which was good to walk off our donuts and pastries.

Looking for an afternoon coffee, we decided to try Arabica in the Whistler Village…read more At first glance we didn't think it was open, but saw someone walking out with a coffee, so in we went. The place is very unique, the interior is built to look like the inside of an igloo, and it is all white and very minimalistic. Not someplace I would go for a coffee and to work for a bit, but a great place to grab a coffee. The staff were nice and helpful, it was rather busy when we were there. The latte was small, but very flavorful and creamy. The coffee was smooth and not bitter. We enjoyed it. Just know because it is Whistler and in the village the prices are a bit high, but coffee seems expensive pretty much anywhere.

Plot twist: it turned into a full-on appreciation moment. The espresso? Dialed. Rich crema, deep aroma, balanced body, zero bitterness. You can taste the precision from bean to bar. It's the kind of shot that makes you pause mid-sip and go, oh yeah... this is why I love coffee. Then the gelato came in to cool things down and absolutely held its own. Silky, clean, not overly sweet, and the perfect contrast to that bold espresso. Hot + cold combo = undefeated. We savored 20 minutes and ran back to gondola to get last chat at 3:30.
