So good we ordered a second portion. I had the pork belly with polenta. Good juicy crispy pork, properly cooked. Two of the party ordered the homemade pasta and proclaimed it delicious as did another with the swordfish. Chocolate Tower for dessert was rich and decadent and it took all 4 of us to demolish it. Sadly this restaurant is closing on 11/22 but on the upside will reopen as a steakhouse in about 6 months. If you are able to stop in before they close it's worth a try. The service was great! Our server, Sara was very accommodating and offered substitutions when she could. You may want to plan a visit earlier in the evening. I planned on trying the chicken parmesean special but was told it was sold out at 5:59pm which was kind of surprising. The decor is nice. It's located in an older house so there is unlevel flooring from room to room but they are mindful to make you aware. The food was delicious although not what you may expect. I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo which was delicious but it also had blue cheese in it. Huh. The golden beet salad was very very good. In all, it was a lovely, scenic evening. Went early, pretty much first ones in, and watched as it became a busy Friday night! The happy hour truly are good deals, on both the drinks as well as tasty appetizers. Our server was very patient, kind and attentive. Since it was last season's menu, I forgot my meal, but I do recall my pasta was a bit lack luster, though I may have ordered a more buttery-type of meal/sauce. My husband chose Arad Evans for his belated birthday dinner. He's been wanting to come here for years, for some reason we never gotten around to stopping in (life I guess). Our waiter Shane was amazing, attentive and personable (not overbearing). He was helpful with suggestions since it was our first time here. For drinks I ordered an espresso martini and my husband had I think some type of scotch whiskey. We opted for the flatbread special which was their take on the French onion soup. My husband also ordered the crab bisque to start. The flatbread was delicious we both agreed, French onion soup is one of my favorite soups. My husband wasn't a huge fan of the bisque, I enjoyed so I ate the rest of it. For entrees my husband went with one of their specials which was the Roasted Pepper Chicken Piccata (he's never had before) and I opted for the Braised Shortrib. My short rib was delicious and fork tender, I love the gochujang jus. It was a good portion(I took half home). My husband really loved his dish, said he would order it again. The reason why my husband wanted to come was dessert lol. He worked years ago as a plumber and did work here, saw the pastry chef make some intricate dessert or something. Now years later here we are. Our waiter recommended to my husband the cookie skillet, my husband is usually a cheesecake person. I opted for the chocolate tower with dark chocolate mousse & macerated berries. My husband enjoyed the cookie skillet, the balance of salty and sweet was just right. They brought a complimentary cheesecake for my husband since he usually goes for that as a dessert. He said it was one of the best cheesecakes. The filling was velvety and not chunky/thick like others. I enjoyed my dessert and saved some for my little ones, I ended the evening with a cappuccino as well. We really loved our first visit it won't be our last and can't wait to return. Best espresso martini ever. I will think about that drink for months and most likely go back for more very soon! My bf and I went to celebrate my bday and I had the fettuccine which was really good and the shrimp was very well seasoned! He had the smash burger which he didn't love the choice of meat but I thought the fries were yummy! Our waitress was awesome and I love the bartender for that drink.. the bread was complimentary last time we were here but now it's a starter with a 3 spread topping including a honey butter, olive, and a red pesto paste. We sat in a very busy bar area, and our server, Tony, was extremely busy. Despite this, he took the time to go over the entire menu with us since it was our first time there. My 11-year-old son is quite picky, but Tony was incredibly patient and helped him find something he would enjoy. Even though he was handling multiple tables, Tony remained attentive. At one point, he excused himself to check on another table. Our drinks took a while to arrive, but Tony stopped by and thoughtfully offered us a half glass of lovely white and red wine while we waited, which we really appreciated. When our drinks finally arrived, he apologized again for the delay and took our order. It was clear that Tony was overwhelmed, yet I noticed other staff members walking around without assisting him. Despite this, he continued to provide excellent service. Our meal was fantastic--the house salad and lollipop appetizers were delicious, and his recommendations were spot on. He got busier as the night went on, so he wasn't able to check in after our first course, but when our entrées arrived, he was there with a smile. He paid close attention to my son, who had ordered a steak, and made sure everything was perfect. Dessert sounded amazing, especially after Tony described the Blond Sandy, so we decided to order. However, a woman with bleached hair brought out our desserts and made an unnecessarily rude and condescending comment: "How are you supposed to eat dessert without silverware?" It was an odd remark, especially since I had noticed her walking around earlier without helping. She also gave us a strange look before walking away, which left us puzzled. Tony, on the other hand, was still running around trying to keep up, and we didn't mind that the silverware was delayed because he was clearly doing his best. I considered speaking to the manager, but Tony assured us it wasn't a big deal and was simply grateful for our visit. Overall, we had a great experience thanks to Tony's hard work. He did an amazing job under challenging circumstances, but it was clear he could have used more support from his coworkers. Hopefully, management takes note because Tony truly went above and beyond! Went here tonight for a work dinner. The place is gorgeous and we were seated in a private room upstairs. I got the Caesar salad to start but didn't get a pic. It was so good and came with a big Parmesan crisp and a toasted cheese bread. For my main course I got the filet mignon which was absolutely amazing. Cooked perfect and served with potatoes and broccolini. For desert I had a chocolate peanut butter lava cake. It was okay but not great. It was not like a traditional lava cake with a gooey inside. The best pet of it was the peanut butter ice cream it was served with. Overall it is a great option for a fancy dinner and I would definitely go back. read more

Arad Evans has been a local landmark, and deservedly so. Weathering both a kitchen fire and pandemic closing, the Inn is back, with a tuned up menu. The beauty of this place is that it does double duty: white table cloth dining in the main room for when you need it, and the bar side for when you don't. The menu is the same for both spaces, which is brilliant. The bar is cozy, lively, inviting. Many people seem to know each other, across generations. Bartenders Drew and Katie were attentive and entertaining, so we decided to eat at the bar rather than waiting for a table to open. This place is clearly an espresso martini crowd- kind of curious to me, but maybe that's today's Cosmo? Today's appletini? Whatever, if it makes you happy. The French onion soup was killer, the bread nicely toasted (not an easy trick to pull off). Excellent flavor in the broth. The warm beet salad was also special, dressed to perfection. Mains didn't disappoint either; my burger was flavorful, and the squash peppardelle (house made pasta, BTW) was complex and well thought out. Creme brule to finish was on point. I've occasionally dined at Arad Evans...usually in the bar area or at the bar, and I've generally found the food and service to be good. My most recent visit has moved me to do the unusual - this review. In short, while looking at the daily specials, I was compelled to order a rather unusual dessert (as my main)...because it was so unique. The seared foie gras with roasted peaches, sage infused crema, etc was such a delight that I ordered another. This dish is so brilliant that I hope the pastry chef, Camille, is given freer range to be similarly creative in any part of the menu (as this 'dessert' could easily be a small plate / app.) Kudos to management for this hire. read more

But our last visit to the dining room was disappointing in every way. Service was slow And unprofessional. Food was all but inedible. My wife and I were there last night. Food just ok. There was a "hospitality surcharge" of $27 on the bill. 20% of the total; and a tip was still expected. No warning it was coming. This surcharge is a fee that has replaced their recent policy of charging credit card users extra. Not exactly hospitable, either one of these practices. This place has declined significantly over the past several years. We used to be regulars--even celebrated our first wedding anniversary there--but are now out of patience. read more

I'm not sure what is going on with the food over the past 6 months or so. The menu is all over the place and the food quality is not great. My wife and I stopped in for dinner tonight and the food was mediocre at best. Who serves uncooked grapes with salmon, they were basically thrown on the food. Not cut in half or warmed up they we just thrown on top of a small fillet with bland pilenta. That's not what's even on the menu! Really disappointed with the food, Arad Evans used to be so good, hopefully they can return to the same quality soon. I know from my own restaurant days that "we're only here for dessert," is something servers dread hearing. Still, our waitress at Arad Evans Inn was perfectly sweet (no pun intended) during our whole sitting. Despite its upscale ambiance, the Inn lacked an air of pretension; we felt very cozy and welcomed. The desserts themselves were decadent. The chocolate tower, which lured us here in the first place, was just as appealing to the palate as it was to our eyes. I had a chance to peruse the normal menu while we sat, and was excited/impressed by their several vegetarian options. I wouldn't turn down an invitation to revisit, though more likely on a special occasion than for regular dinner. read more

I will start this as I always do by saying I don't give five stars unless I am really blown away. I was really blow away. This is one of the better restaurants around the area that I have been to. If I had to knock anything about it it's the price. Be prepared to spend a lot especially if you have drinks. The decor is very nice and high end. The bar is a very nice U shaped bar with seating around the outside of the bar room. They have outdoor seating that is wonderful in the the summertime. They have a good menu that isn't overly complex but still a lot of good options. We ordered the mussels to share as an app. They were awesome. The broth was the fantastic I could have had a whole bowl of just that. I ordered the steak salad. It was perfect. Not huge portions but just enough to fill you. She had the filet. It was cooked to perfection medium rare. Seared outside With a cool center. They give you bread to start with an awesome honey butter that is whipped and not overly sweet but super creamy. The staff is friendly and the bartender makes a decent martini. I would recommend this location to anyone that is looking to have have a romantic date or looking to impress. I decided to choose this place, since had several private dining rooms (upstairs), so the little ones can walk/run around without bothering other diners. The outside of this place is so charming. I didn't get a chance to see the main dining room, bar, or bistro section. Our room was very large and perfect for party of 12, which included two toddlers. The room was a bit warm and had the AC turned on which helped. Our lone waitress was very nice (even though she knocked over a glass of water all over my side of the table). The food? I really wanted to be wowed, but overall it was good but had much better, especially with the price we paid (total was around ($800 with tip)). The French onion soup was good. Their escargot had cheese (that's a first) with way too much garlic. Oysters was a good option. For entrees, big portions. I had their steak cooked medium rare. It was good. Maybe next time, I'll get the smaller cut or order it medium (so rare in the middle). Their duck breast was also good, but just needed something to lift it (maybe salt). Maryland crab cakes? Should have known better. Too much fillers. Not like crab cakes you get here in Maryland, with zero fillers and big lump crab meat. The highlight must have been the manhattan drinks and their desserts. My chocolate lava cake was great. Same with their tower dessert too. read more

I love this restaurant and have been many times. Actually I would go so far as to say I have two of the absolute best versions of dishes I have ever had here. Prince Edward mussels and there special duck fat fries with sauce and I dot even like fries usually. Tried on another quests plate and had to get my own. It has been over five years and still talking about them! Having said that all the food has been exceptional! What also makes it exceptional is the lovely atmosphere, it is in an old home beautifully done. In the summer there is also lovely patio outdoor seating. I have always had very good service and did I mention the wine selection. Wonderful! It is upscale and not inexpensive but hey when you are this good it is a special night and not for everyday. Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience last night at this restaurant. Server came over to the table and never introduced himself, read off of a sheet of paper for all specials, and didn't know anything about the menu. He proceeded to rush through our meal and hover over us. When we wanted to place just an appetizer order, he said oh no, you have to order your whole meal right now. He almost spilled a cup of soup on one of my guest. Did not know how to pour wine correctly. The end of the meal he said oh by the way, we have already added gratuity to your bill. Have been to Arad Evans many times over the years. This was the worst. Went on a Friday evening to have cocktails and dinner at the bar. It took the bartender a while to even acknowledge us. I ordered a glass of wine and my husband ordered a black and tan draft. This made her pull a face and an eye roll because apparently this was out of her realm. I got the wine...but my husband never got his. She waited on other customers and ignored him. When we finally asked she said she had to chill the glass. He ordered something else. We ordered 2 meals and a salad. Salad came right away...but the entrees didn't. We waited and waited while she completely ignored us. Then came over and said the order would be coming but they were serving a large party upstairs (so?). We waited and then decided to leave. If you're going to add a 20% gratuity for server wages and benefits (as stated on the menu) does that mean the server doesn't even have to do a good job, care or even try very hard? We have always tipped very well but it's supposed to be a reflection of good service....this was simply terrible. Also a dress code for a bartender isn't a bad idea also. Won't be back read more

It wasn't that game you play with the waitress where they are up your butt every second you don't need them and then when you need something they are no where in site. There is a good balance of letting you enjoy your food and coming at the right time. It sounds simple but it is SO IMPORTANT for a good dining experience. OK lets talk food. We started off with a seafood appetizer...I don't exactly remember what it was called but I still know what it tastes like because I wanted to bathe in the broth. It was mussels, shrimp, scallops and clams in a spicy seafood broth. I'm lit speechless right now. It was amazing. For my entree I got filet mignon with roasted garlic potatoes and asparagus. THE MEAT CUT LIKE LITERAL BUTTER. I probably could have cut it with my spoon. AND IT WAS SO JUICY. How can anything in life possibly be as juicy as this filet mignon?!?!? It's not possible. I finished every bite and pretty much licked my plate and ate it bc it was so good. My sweetie-pie decided to get lamb with a mixed rice side dish. It also was very amazing. The last time I had lamb I probably could have slapped my grandma with it and she would have broken a bone. It is HARD to get right. But this lamb was tender, juicy and SO FLAVORFUL. yum. I am salivating. ok now for the best part...dessert. Creme Brulee and chocolate tower. YES. CHOCOLATE. TOWER. It is anyone's dream pretty much. I would sell my dog for one of these things. It is white and dark chocolate made into a chocolate cylinder...filled with ganache and fresh berries. The best part? Embracing all of those inner angsty emotions and beating the heck out of it with your spoon. That's the best ending to a meal if you ask me. Some other reasons why it rocks? They have a private chef that like had his own gourmet restaurant and idk I think he is from France and lived among the cattle or something like hes a total bad ass. Love the food and the vibe. I found it weird that they added an automatic 20% "hospitality" tip to my bill when it was just myself and gf at the bar. Bill was around $115, then auto "hospitality" of 20% or $23, bringing the total just under $140. The server said that the hospitality charge doesn't go directly to them, that the owner takes it. I felt obligated to tip 20% on the $140 but it just felt weird. Just raise the prices on the food and drink, it makes it awkward for the server and customer. read more
