    Special: Chicken Piccata
    Saret B.

My husband chose Arad Evans for his belated birthday dinner. He's been wanting to come here for years, for some reason we never gotten around to stopping in (life I guess). Our waiter Shane was amazing, attentive and personable (not overbearing). He was helpful with suggestions since it was our first time here. For drinks I ordered an espresso martini and my husband had I think some type of scotch whiskey. We opted for the flatbread special which was their take on the French onion soup. My husband also ordered the crab bisque to start. The flatbread was delicious we both agreed, French onion soup is one of my favorite soups. My husband wasn't a huge fan of the bisque, I enjoyed so I ate the rest of it. For entrees my husband went with one of their specials which was the Roasted Pepper Chicken Piccata (he's never had before) and I opted for the Braised Shortrib. My short rib was delicious and fork tender, I love the gochujang jus. It was a good portion(I took half home). My husband really loved his dish, said he would order it again. The reason why my husband wanted to come was dessert lol. He worked years ago as a plumber and did work here, saw the pastry chef make some intricate dessert or something. Now years later here we are. Our waiter recommended to my husband the cookie skillet, my husband is usually a cheesecake person. I opted for the chocolate tower with dark chocolate mousse & macerated berries. My husband enjoyed the cookie skillet, the balance of salty and sweet was just right. They brought a complimentary cheesecake for my husband since he usually goes for that as a dessert. He said it was one of the best cheesecakes. The filling was velvety and not chunky/thick like others. I enjoyed my dessert and saved some for my little ones, I ended the evening with a cappuccino as well. We really loved our first visit it won't be our last and can't wait to return. Also kudos to the music played in the restaurant(my husband is a musician on the side, I loved Lauryn Hill that was played lol ).

Best espresso martini ever. I will think about that drink for months and most likely go back for more very soon! My bf and I went to celebrate my bday and I had the fettuccine which was really good and the shrimp was very well seasoned! He had the smash burger which he didn't love the choice of meat but I thought the fries were yummy! Our waitress was awesome and I love the bartender for that drink.. the bread was complimentary last time we were here but now it's a starter with a 3 spread topping including a honey butter, olive, and a red pesto paste. A great experience and all delicious food, we didn't leave room for dessert unfortunately!

Mushroom ravioli (8/10) It was cooked perfectly al dente and the mushroom filling was delicious. The sauce could have done with less oil

Arad Evans you came highly recommended and boy did you deliver! The most memorable part of our meal was hands down the short rib. It was packed with flavor, the meat was soft, and it was the perfect portion. With everything ordered we had no room for dessert but we won't make that mistake next time! Chocolate tower, we're coming for you!

Went here tonight for a work dinner. The place is gorgeous and we were seated in a private room upstairs. I got the Caesar salad to start but didn't get a pic. It was so good and came with a big Parmesan crisp and a toasted cheese bread. For my main course I got the filet mignon which was absolutely amazing. Cooked perfect and served with potatoes and broccolini. For desert I had a chocolate peanut butter lava cake. It was okay but not great. It was not like a traditional lava cake with a gooey inside. The best pet of it was the peanut butter ice cream it was served with. Overall it is a great option for a fancy dinner and I would definitely go back.

Super cute spot for a date night! Their pan roasted chicken is off the hook! Hubs got veal short ribs, which he liked. Drinks were delicious. The restaurant is probably more beautiful during the summertime.

My friend really enjoyed a sangria drink as well. I ordered a burger with chips instead of fries - it came out with fries that were SO good and crisp I decided to just keep them and was quite satisfied. Our server (Evian?) was amazing, patient and gracious and gave personalized service for a group of 10+. She even took a picture for us! The manager came to check in during our meal as well. My ongoing complaint with Craftsman is the ambiance. It is gorgeous inside, the patio is pretty okay, but I have never been a comfortable temperature there...either way too hot or way too cold! I recognize that could be personal preference or a seasonal issue but it's been my experience more than once. They are currently doing some construction in the hall outside the bathrooms. I personally think it is a little overpriced but what they offer is higher quality than some similarly priced restaurants in the area so it doesn't deter me, I just know when I'm there I'll spend a bit.

I had the pleasure of returning to Touché for a second visit on Saturday evening, and once again,…read morethe experience was exceptional. It's not uncommon for a new restaurant to impress the first time, only to fall short on subsequent visits. Touché, however, proves to be a welcome exception. Their continued commitment to quality, creativity, and classic French influences remains evident in every aspect of the dining experience. Several days before our reservation, I received a courteous text from the charming and attentive hostess, Bridgette, requesting details about the members of my dining party, including names and dietary restrictions. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by name and seated at a table adorned with a personalized name card--an unnecessary but thoughtful and memorable gesture that set the tone for the evening. I selected the very reasonably priced three‑course prix fixe menu ($70), while the rest of my party opted for the Steak Frites. My starter, a colossal scallop, was beautifully seasoned and perfectly cooked. While the nettle purée could have used a touch more vibrancy, it still complemented the bright yuzu dressing well. The main course--a perfectly cooked half duck breast accompanied by roasted celeriac purée and a currant‑cassis jus--was a standout. The deep berry notes paired beautifully with the richly rendered duck fat. Although I typically gravitate toward savory dishes, the dessert was an impressive finale: a Sablé Breton with blood orange cream, thyme Chantilly, thyme jam, and a rocher of coffee ice cream. The combination of sweet, salty, and herbaceous elements was wonderfully balanced and thoroughly enjoyable. I was fortunate enough to try a few bites of the Steak Frites, which did not disappoint--nor did it for the other members of my party. Our meals were complemented by excellent cocktails from the well‑stocked bar. The bartender was knowledgeable, skilled, and engaging. The open‑concept kitchen is also a delight to observe, and I look forward to reserving a seat at the chef's table on my next visit. One of the ongoing challenges in the Syracuse dining scene, in my opinion, is a general lack of restraint. Touché distinguishes itself with its thoughtful menu design, technical precision, and appropriate portion sizes. We left feeling thoroughly attended to and perfectly satiated. I sincerely hope Touché continues its pursuit of excellence both in the kitchen and in the dining room. Syracuse needs restaurants of this caliber, and I eagerly anticipate their spring and summer menus.

Another outstanding meal at my favorite syracuse restaurant…read more Enjoyed some time this Friday with special people as we sat and enjoyed an exquisite dining out. I was the only returning patron, the others much enjoyed their first time here. Walking through the front door you're instantly hit with a wonderful smell of food cooking over an open fire. Got a terrific table to look out the window and enjoyed a nice evening view. Took full advantage of every food meal course available. Started out with their evening appetizer of homemade bread with cinnamon butter. Each of us got our own dinner choice along with small plates to start. The two small plates were green lentil salad and ember roasted carrots. Both of them with their unique flavor and style. The green lentil salad featured heirlooms. The ember roasted carrots featured labrieth, doqqa, and maple syrup. Keep in mind everything here comes from local farms and local breweries and distilleries. Big fan of supporting the state and local community. Fantastic! They feature only a few main entrées, tonight's included halibut, steak, chicken, and sea Island peas with jasmine rice. Knowing how well seasoned their steaks are, I went with a filet mignon 10 ounce. Probably a little more than I should've gotten, but I very rarely eat steak and know how well and good they are here. Ordered the steak medium to medium rare and that's exactly how it came out. Mouth watering delicious. Along with the steak includes mashed potatoes, chimichurri, kale, and. crème fraiche. Every bite was outstanding. One of us got ice cream for dessert which she said was very good. The ice cream was made right there at the restaurant. We kicked off the dinner with a rum cocktail and a tequila cocktail. All spirits locally sourced. If you haven't tried it here yet you should. You will not be disappointed.

We were promptly seated and ordered glasses of wine while perusing the menu, which is on the smaller side. That usually means everything on it is rather good, so we had high expectations. We started with the Mushroom Toast, Ember Roasted Carrots, and Beef Tartar. I'll start with the bad and finish with the good. The Ember Roasted Carrots were a complete miss. They were trying to go for a middle-eastern flavor, with each ingredient contrasting, while the carrot served as the centerpiece to flavor. I found this to be INCREDIBLY bland. The carrots were not salted enough during roasting and lacked enough char. They dish also needed more labneh than it was served with. It literally just tasted like carrots and yoghurt. Honestly, if I could only give one critique it would be to have used more salt, but this dish was a real disappointment. The Beef Tartar suffered from a similar issue. It was bland. Not enough salt was used. It unfortunately tastes like flat beef. I overheard the bartender talking to another couple and he told them they really want to highlight the ingredients. The idea is purity or something like that. And that's well and good, but you still need to season beef tartar. I don't think this is necessarily a poor execution of the dish(es) rather this is more in line with the philosophy of the kitchen, and that's fine. It's just not for me. And now for the good. The Mushroom Toast was great. It had all the things I had wanted. Fat, salt, umami, freshness. This was a good dish and I would get this again. As for the entrees, my husband and I ordered the Cappelletti and the NY Strip. The Cappelleti was the strongest dish of the night. The flavors were layered and intentional. This was a great dish and I1000% would get it again. My husband ordered the NY Strip along with bone marrow. It was cooked to perfection. Cooking it over a wood fire gave it a great char and almost Smokey flavor. It was very flavorful. The chimichurri made the steak feel lighter than it actually was. My husband loved it and I loved having a bite or two of everything together. This was a complete dish and I'd highly recommend it. The only knock I could give it is the bone marrow. There was a lack of volume in it which is probably due to being cooked over a wood fire. Parts of the bones were also over roasted. I'd skip this the next time and get the foie gras pate. Lastly, for desert we were disappointed that we could not try the rice pudding as they were out of it (we will try it the next time if available). We did however order the Flourless Chocolate Torte to share. It was made perfectly. It was rich and decadent but remained light. It was almost like a mousse, but not quite. We loved it. Overall, the had a great time. There were several highlights and I think they make up for the a couple of the earlier dishes. I'd like to see what else they have to offer when they change their menu.

Full disclosure I did share a direct message with them through Resy I never heard back from them, which tells me volumes. Small things like the barstools being too low to the bar as we were having cocktails it was so uncomfortable. We decided to have our cocktails at our table. Our server, the hostess and bartender were attentive and amazing. The main reason we came to the restaurant was the Duck meal they wound up being out of by 6:30 that night. My husband did choose as a substitute the braised lamb shank with the mint gremalata. Lamb was very tender, but 100% lacking in every way of the mint flavor. My swordfish was cooked perfectly, although plain and I was excited about turnips As I love them. Unfortunately they came out raw tasteless and inedible. I commented to our waiter and he said well they're Japanese so that's the way they are. All in all the dessert menu left us flat so we went out to another place for dessert & after dinner drinks. The percentage they add to your check for the back of the house gratuity is offensive. Just pay your people more and don't expect the diners to have to Pay up for your kitchen staff, as well as tipping the front of the house staff which got less of a tip because we had a tip the back of the house. All the hype some of it's real, most of it's not, glad we tried. It won't be back. There are too many other places and Upstate, New York.

I've had several amazing meals there, but I was especially delighted that they were open on Thanksgiving. We often host big friendsgivings, but it just wasn't happening this year, and we were delighted to have some other options for me, my partner, and my partner's mother. Dinner started off with, always, their cheese souffle spread and house-made crackers. The first course had several choices, including an awesome gnocchi, with perfect texture and potato flavor; meatballs with risotto, also tasty; and lobster chowder, which got raves although I didn't try it. The salad that followed was nice. The main course included tender and juicy turkey, a mind-blowing potato dauphinoise, dressing, a smallish helping of green beans, and further vegetables and sides. We all took home at least another meal's worth of leftovers from the supper, and I'm a hearty eater. The deserts were similarly wonderful, including a very flavorful pumpkin cake and two other options. The Horned Dorset always delivers[*], but I especially appreciated the staff being willing to work on a holiday to provide us with such a lovely dinner. And super-attentive service to a room full of happy diners. [*] And they deliver in another way -- I have not had their to-go meals, but my partner raves about them.
