We stopped in here on our way out of Branson. It's small, quaint, and hat you'd expect a family owned and operated restaurant to be. The service was good. Wasn't impressed with the salsa so much, and you have to pay for chips & salsa. The tacos were pretty authentic, tender and tasty. We also tried the tamales and thought they were good. Wanted to get authentic street tacos and the reviews for this place were very good. Got my pork street tacos ($7.99 for 4-very pricey) and I was very disappointed. The photos of tacos look very plentiful but I did not receive tacos with that much meat. Not like I remember from Salto MX or American street tacos. The corn torts had not been heated and the pork had pieces of gristle and fat in the meat. The salsa bar was quaint but needed a few more additions. My husband ordered shrimp fajitas (way over priced at $17.99) and was shocked when it was served in a molcajete and the shrimp still had legs, shells and tails still on. He did comment that the shrimp was good and he enjoyed the cactus that was included. Chips and salsa along with queso were not a stellar point either. Spanish flan was chosen for dessert and I found it to be a bit heavy, caramel sauce was good. I really wanted to enjoy some great Mexican food, but I ended up bringing a majority of our meals back home to feed to the outside critters. If you want tacos in Branson, you gotta try Arandas. Their nachos are good, but the tacos are always great. There's no free chips and salsa but that's alright because they give you wagon wheel crisps which are good with hot sauce. The service is sometimes slow. Their al pastor tacos are always perfect. They also have cheek, tongue, and cactus tacos if you enjoy those varieties. read more

They would not total it up until we went to the register, once she started to use the registered the waitress wanted to overcharge our party stating we had more drinks that what our party had ordered. Took our family of 7 here for lunch today. It was a ridiculous fiasco of negative events. Upon arrival the hostess could not accomodate us together, so we agreed to split the group. The server then brought 2 meals out right away while the other 5 waited for 30 minutes. Granted the 2 meals were from the appetizer menu, but still should have been served with the meals. The server said the kitchen was backed up with tickets. The food arrived luke warm. Taste was okay, bland. Then the fire alarm went off and for over 20 minutes we listened to a high pitch alarm. No apology for inconvenience, nothing. The children in our group were frightened and had to leave. The fire department finally arrived. Then we were leaving and the unfriendly hostess had no apology. While my husband was kindly letting her know the experience was miserable the full garbage can sitting at the entrance dumped over spilling food everywhere and hitting us. Once again no apology. She said "I cant help these things, have a good day". I told her I was giving poor review and so here it is. Avoid this place, definitely not worth the 68 dollar bill we had. read more

I'm from mexico city and while visiting Branson I was looking for a little piece of home that was not overpriced and had great authentic variety. I was pleasantly surprised to see the name Arandas as thats as legit as it gets. The duritos or chicharrones you get instead of chips are a great detail and are way good with some of their valentina hot sauce. I ordered a couple of lengua tacos and the meat was perfect, right consistency and flavor. I also ordered a chicken tinga tostada which had a tasty refried beans base and topped with very tasty shredded chicken with onions smothered in chipotle sauce. It was to die for! I also got a ceviche tostada which was not only tasty but most importantly fresh. People who rate this lower than 4 stars have no idea just how difficult it is to get consistently good quality mexican food outside of texas, illinois, arizona, nevada and california. The staff was friendly and their salsa bar greatly complements the food. I will definitely keep going back because they sure know what they're doing! read more

My family and I went, We loved the food! The tortas with al pastor were delicious and I had the huaraches with al pastor meet and chorizo My mother in law had the tacos with birria, she said the flavor was good but it had some meet that you couldn't chew, the rice and beans are so good! The horchata water is fantastic! The both ladies that helped us are so nice, we had a great conversation with the owner and learned a little about her. The flan was moist and fluffy! Some of the best chorizo tacos I've ever had. I really liked the small fun size of the tacos of which I could eat about 4-6 as a meal. The self serve toppings was great because I was able to add the exact amount of toppings I like. I will eat here everytime I'm in the Branson area. read more

It is too bad I can only give this place 5 stars. I had the small order of Amanda's Nachos and they were the best nachos I have ever had and they were so large we are sharing them for dinner. My wife had the order of 4 tacos and had 4 different kinds and enjoyed them all. My daughters ordered a chicken burrito and gorditas and they were fantastic. The service was incredibly friendly. My husband and I visited here for the first time. I love tacos and this place was close to the hotel so why not? The building is small and the decor was nothing to go crazy over, but the service was friendly. I ordered a bottled coke and they brought out some "mexican chips" which I had never had before. We dipped them in the Valentina hot sauce and they were very good. I ordered 2 seasoned beef tacos, and my husband got chicken "fajitas". My taco meat had terrific flavor and texture, and was served on a stack of 2 corn tortillas. The meat was enough to where I could split it between the 2nd tortilla (so I technically got 4 tacos but ordered 2). I topped it with cilantro and pico de gallo from the salsa bar and squeezed the lime over it. These tacos were incredibly delicious. The chicken fajitas were fantastic as well. Perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken, peppers, onions. My husband picked out the cilantro sprigs and the cactus (he wasn't quite sure if it was something to eat or not ha). Everything was consumed and enjoyed otherwise. The chips and queso were great as well. I highly recommend this place. read more

Service AWFUL! Went in for margaritas. The waitress first said they had strawberry frozen margaritas then said frozen would be $2 extra and they don't have strawberry! When the margaritas we got finally showed up they were awful. None of the two of us could drink them. Our friend ordered a beer that never showed up. When the bill came there were no prices. When we asked to see our total price we were told "I don't know. Someone will tell you at front." It was our waitress who then checked us out. Never had such terrible service ever! They are very deceptive with the advertisements. they advertise $1 taco Tuesday in English on all of there signs. Unfortunately the write in Spanish only on the door it is for a specific taco. The servers speak very little English and can not convey the true price. Was extremely disappointed with the quality and the price charged after completing the meal. It is understaffed & no sign to seat yourself or wait to be seated. Immediately to the left is the register & kitchen. There were only very young unsupervised children playing there. After we asked if we should sit, the only waitress said yes. After seating we were quickly brought menus (with only 7 items available) & our drink order taken. Upon our drink delivery we all 3 ordered 3 tacos. They were ready in a reasonable time, but we were dumbfounded by how very small they were. They had a condiment bar, but even there was no cheese, no lettuce, no tomatoes & the guacamole sauce was empty. I asked for sour cream & when it came I unrolled my napkin for a knife to use & there was just a single fork, in all napkin wraps. The tacos were standard price which is a sneaky way of getting more money for less food. I ordered a torta specifically without onions & it came loaded with onions so I sent it back. It's supposed to come with guacamole, but mine didn't. When I asked why the server said they were out but said to try guacamole sauce which I pointed out was empty. 2 mins later a full thing of guacamole sauce was put in the condiment cart...wtf?! I thought they had no guacamole? The torta wasn't bad or small & after I ate it we asked for the bill. Nothing deducted, no apologies, & we went to pay up front & waited 5 mins. This place shouldn't be patronized. Also people should call & complain about the mini tacos at full price. In Branson there's other better Mexican restaurants, go there. read more

My family and I went on Sunday and this may not be the best day to go. We had the feeling that we were not really wanted and that we were an inconvenience to the wait staff. I always enjoy trying new items and so I was excited to try the tongue (had at other places and enjoyed) and beef cheek (new experience). The tongue was flavorless (spice wise) but it did have a aftertaste that I could not wait to wash out of my mouth. So glad I did not order it in something larger than the tacos. The beef cheek was a new flavor and overall it was not bad but it was kinda of fatty tasting with that slimy feel you get from fat and that was the overall flavor that I had from it. If I pulled a piece off that did not have visible fat it had a good flavor. My husband ordered the carne asada tacos and said that they were ok but he left and was still hungry. My mother said that the taco salad had more lettuce than chicken and she had to dig around to find any meat. We also ordered the flan to share. This was unlike any other flan I have ever had. It was overly sweet especially with the dulce de leche on top but the cool whip on the side actually helped to cut the sweetness, a little. Overall before the food came out we were saying 2 stars for the service and the atmosphere and truthfully the food did not improve the rating much. We all agreed that we would not be going back and would stick to El Charro down the street or El Patio in Hollister. read more
