Was so hopeful this would be a spot! The food appearance was good, but that was the highlight of the night. $1.70 for chips and salsa? Drinks are not very strong and on the small side. Servers were slow. As I sat at the tables waiting to pay the bill, I looked at the three members of my family... the looks of stomach ache and regret where upon their faces... My kids were like we need to go... the look on my old lady's face was no better.. As I pulled out onto Route 34... it hit... a sound that can only be replicated if you watch the scene from the Labrinyth with the eternal bog of stench. I'll spare the rest of the details... Not a good first impression... In fairness, I'll start with the fact that we had an awful server. I ordered a Coke and was told I would get a can. When asked if there was an option for a fountain drink, I was told they usually come out flat. Then we didn't get straws. Then we got the chips and some bottles of hot sauces. When I asked for a bowl of salsa for the chips (after waiting for too long for her to return and take our order) she acted surprised by the question. She was very confused and slow to check in if she did at all. This place charges you for everything. Yes, many places do and yes prices are higher and have been for a while, but $3.50 to replace your corn tortillas with flour on your taco is excessive. I got the flauta dinner and my wife got the quesadillas. The meals were good but it was hard to enjoy with the bad service. Maybe a better server would have made for an overall better experience but nothing we had stood out from anywhere else so I'll pass. read more

This review is for the Sugar Grove location. I got a pastor burrito. It cost a remarkable $14 pre-tax but it was lightly filled and came with no rice or beans. The meat was gristly and appeared to have been sautéed or baked, not off the typical vertical spit. So, the ingredients and flavor were subpar and the price was almost twice what similar restaurants charge...astounding. Usually this kind of situation is not a one-off but applies to all of the menu all of the time. Hard to imagine Primo's Mexican Cuisine has any repeat customers, given the numerous vastly superior Mexican restaurants in neighboring Aurora, Batavia, Oswego, and Montgomery. read more

Food was ok, not sure it stood out from anything else you can get in the area. Service was bad, there were two other other tables filled in a pretty empty restaurant. Asked for peppers with our meal, never got them. Asked for a second beer, never got it. Tacos are ridiculously small, smaller than a silver dollar pancake. I got the burrito dinner as did my friend, it was ok, nothing great. Service really killed it here especially in such an empty place. Not sure we'd come back or recommend, just meh food with bad service. Ambiance, I don't get it. Guns N' Roses on the wall, a monkey burger place in there that's a bit odd. read more

Great atmosphere with food that is fresh and delicious. Many dishes have seafood. If you're not in the mood for Mexican you can order from the Monkey Burger menu. I haven't had one but heard they are very good. read more

I really wanted to like Primo's. The inside is nice and trendy and I like their logo design. My husband ordered some take out and I got two tacos. I got the asada and carnitas tacos. I was very disappointed with what I was given. The asada tacos were almost completely inedible. Steak is supposed to be tender and juicy to make it easy to bit into a taco, but this was chewy and tough. The texture was very unappealing. The flavor left something to be desired as well. It wasn't anything too exciting or unique. The carnitas were cooked better, but still lacked flavor. It was very bland. There just wasn;t much too it. The service was prompt and pleasant during our take out experience. They have burgers which look pretty good too, I just really wasn't a fan of the quality of their tacos. read more

Now I was hoping their tacos would be great like the ones at their other location in Aurora but unfortunately I was disappointed. I ordered 11 tacos altogether to be made for pickup and the Lady said it would take about 20 mins but was giving me a hard because I was having a hard time understanding what she was saying over the phone. So I wanted the 20 mins and got the order on my lunch break. I paid $6 on cash and the rest in card. Once I get back to work I notice the tacos are still hot and steamer so when I went to take a bite the corn shell was very hard and over cooked almost stale. The meat was very tuff as well and tacos don't get like that even when there cold. I asked for a refund due to me being at work and not being able to eat the food because it was too tuff and they made it a big deal and kept me on hold while I was at work just to say they can do it but can't give me the money I paid in cash. So I asked the next day because I'm a busy person if I can just get 2 of their best asada tacos in exchange for the $6 I spent and the manager gave me attitude about it and told me to get them on another Tuesday and that was my first experience with this place. Honestly better off going somewhere else where they don't make you feel like it's your fault the food quality was poor even when the food is still hot. Never going there again. 1 Star ! read more

How disappointing! Wanted to give new place a try. 1:30 Friday afternoon wife & I were only table in the place? Should have been our 1st clue. Loud music with concrete floor echo and barren interior so no ambiance. Server took our order, crunchy chicken sandwich & torta Cubana. 25 minutes later wife finally went up to bar server asking where food was. Amazing she brought it right out, but it was likely under heat lamps as buns were soggy. On the food. Chicken was not crunchy & was extremely tough missing tomato, fries were basically frozen & not crisp or hot. The torta cubana had some ham, some unrecognizable meat, a fried egg & sliced hot dog. Neither order was edible!!! We each ate 1/2 since we were starving Had to go to host stand to pay our bill. Told the server it was terrible & got zero reaction! Bottom line, never going back & bet the place is out of business by year end unless they really change the service, food quality & ambiance. read more

went to Primos grand opening tonight, Cinco de Mayo. The food was delicious. We had tacos Pastore. We had the shrimp wrapped with banana leaves. The crispy fish tacos, the avocado tacos, the guacamole, and the street corn. They made their tortillas different colors very authentic we got serviced right away. There's a sign on the floor as soon as you walk in that reads "please wait to be seated", which is what my family of four did on a quiet Sunday afternoon when we decided to try Oswego's newest Mexican restaurant. We waited and waited while no less than seven staff members loitered around regarding us as unwanted relatives who showed up at the family reunion. On a whim, I decided to hold eye contact with one of the two employees at the host stand across the room and after an uncomfortable forty-five seconds someone was ushered over to escort us to our table. We started with drinks (free refills!) and chips & salsa ($1.50?). The salsa was the type that doesn't stay on your chip because it's so watery, but it was fine because they don't give you much anyway. Next, we ordered our four entrees and the choriqueso appetizer, which we chose to have come out before the meal when asked by the server. The food took awhile and the entrees showed up without us ever receiving the appetizer. I asked, "are we going to get that choriqueso?", and the server said it would be right out. It did arrive shortly thereafter and it was disappointing. It was bland, and they somehow managed to make chorizo taste dried-out. Of our four entrees, the al pastor tacos were good, the chicken burrito suizo was average, the regular steak chimichanga came suizo style and had to be sent back, and my son's burger, ordered off the "monkey burger" section of the menu, was decent. Although, it also had to be sent back because it was ordered with no mustard or onions but came loaded with everything. I hate sending food back. I won't do it even if the food tastes horrible. I consider that a lesson learned and it makes me uncomfortable. But if the restaurant doesn't give me what I ordered, it's going back. And you can't scrape the taste of mustard off a hamburger bun. The server was apologetic and corrected the orders as quick as the kitchen was able to. With 20% tip, our bill came to just over $100. Yikes! I don't see us returning to Primo's when there are so many other Mexican food options in the area that do everything better and cheaper. read more

The food, service, and cocktails were all first rate, and the decor and ambiance were very nice. We were there on a Saturday night, and they had just reopened. There was live music and flamenco dancers, which made it a bit too loud, but they corrected the sound levels pretty quickly. Everyone was very nice, very efficient, and it was overall a lovely experience. I hope to see it much busier next time we visit. read more

Ok, this place is amazing. They have high end and 'regular end' Mexican dishes in a pleasant atmosphere, with decent music. I had my standard 2 tacos, one carnitas and one steak, and rice and beans. The carnitas was juicy and crispy and yummy with no fat. The steak was just right and no fat either. Rice and beans were really tasty - above standard. But the standout for me was the drink I had - the jungle blueberry mint agave, non-alcoholic - spectacular! The server said they use all real ingredients in their eclectic drinks, and make each one to order. And only $3.99! These days, that is an amazing price for such a drink. Their dinner prices are typical - $15-20, but a la carte prices are great - tacos under $3 and chips and salsa for $1.50- like the old days! I will definitely keep coming back, and can't wait to try one of their dinners and another creative drink! read more

This was me and my wife first time coming to primos never ever again will we come back. We walked in no one greeted us. They walked us to are table and we waited 45 minutes almost close to an hour. Just so they can take are drink order and food. They it took them another hour to bring are food. When we did give us are food it did even taste good, not one person came to check on us.
