Stay away from any homes managed by this company. Home was run down to the point of safety issues…read more(dead bugs, doors didn't lock, screen doors off their hinges, windows that won't shut due to dehumidifiers pumping into the house). They also disclose issues with the homes after you book and are past refund capabilities. Worse than that, they don't answer their phones or emails after hours (which is usually check-in time when the issues are discovered). We had a nightmare of a VRBO booking with them, and spent more than 4 hours on hold with VRBO (who also could never get in touch with them), 2 hours on hold with their call service (off-shores), and more than 20 emails to finally get a cancellation so we could stay at a home with doors that locked, windows that closed, and one that wasn't infested with critters.

We watched lightning dance across the distant sky, enjoyed the beautiful Strawberry Moon, listened as the rain slowly moved across the mountains until it reached us, and even caught fireworks lighting up the distance. Ending the day in the hot tub while taking in the endless mountain views was the perfect way to relax. Every moment felt peaceful and unforgettable. We can't wait to come back!

We especially appreciated having a full kitchen for making breakfast together and enough beds for everyone to sleep comfortably--perfect for a group getaway. It's also ideally located--just 10 minutes from Blowing Rock with great restaurants, about 20 minutes to Boone, and only 30 minutes from Grandfather Mountain. We called the office and moved us to another room. The rug also had holes in it. The new room, not much better. Poor lighting. The jacuzzi had a rusty drain and there was no way we were using it. The peephole in the door was covered with a playing card, no idea what that's about! We found a wadded up used washcloth behind the bathroom door. The closet bi-fold doors were broken as well This motel seems to have long term renters like construction workers. This place is ok if you need a room for a night or in a pinch or hiding from the law. It's very dated and in desperate need to updating and renovation.

The shower curtain was ripped, bathroom floor tiles were chipped, there was no shampoo, conditioner, lotion, none of the standard bathroom amenities that even a motel provides! The toilet barely flushed, and water pressure was non existent. The closet door was cracked, and off track, there was an ironing board, with a cover that didn't fit at all, but there wasn't an iron! The whirlpool which was supposed to be a special feature had some green slime in it. The curtain to the balcony door was stained yellow.The bedsheet had a hole in it, and the pillows were lumpy. Sounds insane for the atrocious price of $186/night but the pictures prove it all. Don't stay here at any cost, ever!

Staying at this amazing little house/cabin in the mountains in Banner Elk, NC, just minutes away…read morefrom Blowing Rock and Boone. There are  just a few miles from skiing at Sugar Mountain and Beach Mountain, plus surrounded by lots of other things to do. Pottery,  trout fishing, gem mining, tubing, wineries, and lots of great restaurants! This place has three sleeping areas up to 4 adults and 4 kids. The top floor is a queen bedroom loft, with a half bath. The main floor is a nice size living room with a kitchen open floor plan and a full bath. Down below halfway down the stairs is a washer and dryer (laundry area) and at the bottom of the stairs are 2 bedrooms. one with a king-size bed and one with 2 sets of bunk beds for 4 kids and a full bathroom. Full house Central Air and heating. Parking for at least 2 cars out front and additional spots at the club house. Access to the tennis courts, pool, and hiking trails with lots of open space in the area. You can also bring fishing equipment and fish on the Watauga River that runs through the community. Real clean and a gem of a place!

The service was wonderful (website, booking, and then check-in were all super easy), the accommodations perfect for our family, and the location is amazing. 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway (right by Julian Price Park and Moses Cone and tons of options for all levels of hiking), 10 minutes from Blowing Rock, and about 15 from Boone (and a Harris Teeter!). This rental is down a gravel road off of Shulls Mill Road and right on a little creek. The kids spent hours playing in the creek, and we all loved going in the hot tub multiple times a day! NIce wooded lot in a little valley. Pretty but not the spectacular views you might find with some of Jenkins' ther properties. However, with young kids, I happily traded the views (which we got when we went hiking 3 days in a row!) for the creek to play in and not having to worry that my youngest would somehow fall off the porch!! Clean, comfortable, and has everything you need for a getaway.

We spent a great deal of time on the phone and email and when the dust settled, we rented one of their cabins and, through their own recommendation, one of their competitors' nearby cabins to fit our large group. On top of this, they recommended us two restaurants (Yelp! review coming soon...) and our loding accomodations were both perfect. Blue Ridge For Rent has a "go straight to the house" to get the keys policy, which saved us time, unlike the last trip we took, and their booking system and check-out instructions were simple. No complaints and would recommend to everyone!
