The atmosphere is perfect inside, low lights, soft music and the little path leading to the door is landscaped nicely. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, they even seated us without reservation. The food.... The food is phenomenal! Warm homemade biscuit, flavorful cozy soup, the dressings for salad were packed with flavor and the entrees soooooo good! So much flavor, thoughtful dishes that are clearly made with passion. This was our first time and we will be back again.

This is our favorite restaurant in Oregon. We have come three times now and we live in another state! The home made salad dressing is to die for. The filet was like butter and the best filet mignon I have ever had!!! And don't forget the desserts!

Our family voted Arbor House the BEST place to eat. Not only is the food the most delicious in the valley (Southern Oregon's best kept secret) the atmosphere and the BEST EVER SERVICE! We feel a part of the family when we're dining. Special every single time. A MUST! Tonight we had this halibut. The best I have EVER had.

We love this family run restaurant- and just had such an amazing dinner there tonight! Started with a special Caesar dip appetizer with bread - which was so warm and yummy. Great flavor! Their dinners come with soup and salad - tonight was a rich and flavorful potato leek soup. Then a house salad with 3 dressings on the side, all homemade and each so flavorful I had to try all three! I had their seafood pasta which had a just few fresh vegees mixed in with the shrimp & scallops - just like I love. Hubby had Coq au Vin chicken dish, cooked so well. Finished off our amazing meal with Key Lime pie and strawberry shortcake. This was a top notch meal enjoyed with a local wine. One of our favorite places in the valley for dinner. Even on this busy night they are all about great service and wonderful food! We always love it!

Perfectly cooked filet, veggies and Alfredo. Salad dressings were super taste also!

Chateau Briand 36 should absolutely be on your list of places to visit while in town. But if I had one evening to spend in Ashland for dinner I would likely choose another restaurant. We were seated rather quickly, told that the restaurant was coming down from a very big dinner rush (when eating in Ashland please be mindful of show times and expect everyone else will be eating before heading to the theater as well). So, we arrived after a rush with a reservation at 7:30. We ordered their Cesar salad to start. 10/10. Simple, crisp, balanced... no notes Here's where things started to dwindle. The restaurant is romantic and intimate too a fault, its lights are dim, the jazz music is at a volume designed for sleepiness... and our main courses took over an hour to come out to us!! (We were so tired I almost asked for a pillow and a blanket... jokes aside...)Which came with no "hey sorry the kitchen is running behind" we actually watched a couple come in, sit down, eat, pay, and leave, all while we were waiting for our main course. All that being said, the food was great. We ordered their steak with a side of mushrooms, and chicken with brussel sprouts. Our server was kind, she even brought us out some cookies to finish our meal off with. The steak was cooked perfectly, everything was well seasoned and made with love... dare is say it was worth the very long wait.

I ordered the beef cheeks. My initial thought as I went in was "these people know what they're doing." The meat was so tender and flavorful, and it melded seamlessly with the truffle sauce and cauliflower puree. The broccolini was charred beautifully with just enough crunch. We were off to a strong start! The hanger steak was a different story. A difficult cut of meat to get right. The center was a perfect medium, but the crust was over-charred and giving off bitter, ash-tray tasting vibes. A couple of the center cuts showed the potential of the dish, but as you approached the blackened ends, it wasn't appetizing. The drink list was exciting and I enjoyed the "Rum with a Vieux," a sort of rum-based take on an old fashioned. We got a Caesar salad to start, which was mostly made from the dense lettuce hearts and was again, overly bitter. This was an intriguing restaurant to visit. I won't be rushing back, but given the glimmers of technical mastery, I won't cross it off my list either. At a lower price-point, this place would have been a 4, but when paying premium you can't drop the ball on an entire dish.

And then there were the deserts: the four of us shared 3 different deserts and all were to die for. I'm a longtime baker with varied experience here and in Europe and never had better deserts anywhere. Not a place for kids--no one under 21. Mocktails as well as wine and. cocktails. Since it was early enough I also had the small happy hour Brussel Spouts appetizer. I adore their Spouts & have had them the last 4-5 times. Yum. The steak was perfection. The sautéed vegetables were good. The whipped garlic potatoes were too salty for me. Unfortunately, I love a good fried oyster & these were only OK. They seemed not to been drained enough. There was quite a bit of oil on my plate headed towards my steak. The cracker meal breading (not my fave) was falling off left & right. Of the 3 oysters only one came close to my idea. Of the other - 1 so rubbery I had to spit it out and the other melted on my tongue so fast I wasn't sure there had been an oysters under the coating. Outside of the oysters I will continue to patronize Omar's because they're usually the best and have been here longer than I've been coming to Ashland (1985). My husband and I had to try it, so we made an earlier reservation (5:30pm) on Friday night to see if we could snag the crab meunière. The restaurant was already getting fairly busy. Our server was so kind and our put in our dinner order right away. We were able to get the last crab dish. It was phenomenal! Buttery and delicious. We were so glad we came back twice this week. Some of the tables are separated by live plants in planter boxes. We loved it. We started with the beets (with shaved fennel pieces and a citrus vinaigrette with a tahini yogurt sauce on the bottom) and burrata (with grilled pieces of bread and sugar snap peas and capers) appetizers - both were delicious. Randy wanted to try another of their off menu drinks. We can't remember what this drink is called but it's not on the menu and has some Mai tai mix and orange bitters ... like a mock Mai tai spritzer. Delicious - Randy had two! I got the mushroom bolognese - so good. It's home made (!) bucatini pasta with a mushroom (cremini, oyster and shiitake) and san Marzano tomato sauce with burrata on top. I love mushrooms but Randy does not and he loved this dish. The mushrooms taste meaty. Randy ordered the Carbonara again and it was also delicious. We also got an order of garlic bread this time and wow. We each have half of our dinners left, lucky us. We shared the creme brûlée which came with a lavender short bread cookie. Perfect. Everything was perfect. The place was packed and all employees were calm and efficient and friendly. Can't wait to go back!

We didn't find out the ins and outs of the games, but it makes it feel like a place you are welcome to stay at for a while. They had a great kids menu. Our girls both wanted pizza and the observant server recommended they share a pizza because they are not small. It was accurate and kept us from having a whole leftover pizza, even though the prices were reasonable and it would have been a good value. The two adults shared the spicy cauliflower from the appetizer menu and the quesacarnitas tacos. Both were seasoned well, very flavorful, and all around delicious. The cauliflower wasn't super spicy, but it was super tasty so we weren't mad. The place is a brewery but we had cocktails.
