I ordered the oysters Rockefeller appetizer special and the value was definitely there with the four large oysters and creamy herbed topping; the hollandaise sauce, however, either curdled and went back to separated butter or was very very plain. I asked whether a mistake was made and butter was served instead, and turned out the hollandaise was just very subtle that day. I ordered the 16 oz Delmonico cut and the server recommended that one to be cooked to medium rare temp as opposed to rare because of how fatty the cut is and I'm glad I listened to Marci. There are no-cost toppings you can add and I selected the blue cheese compounded butter one and I'm glad I did. The special side that day was mashed red potatoes and I enjoyed how generous the serving was but I found them under seasoned. The steak was good. Maybe $50 good; I'd definitely melt but another cut next time that works well with the rare temp. The tiramisu dessert was divine and the texture and taste of the mascarpone mousse made up for the bland hollandaise from earlier. Once again, we came here for our anniversary. I had the Beef Wellington, and my husband had the rib eye. They were both delicious and done perfectly. Our server Cassie was especially attentive and made this experience even better. We celebrated with vodka martinis, they were decent in size and had the shaved ice on top. What a wonderful evening at One Fifteen Broiler!! We were able to snag a reservation last minute and the staff was amazing about it. It was a slower night so a few walk-ins also got tables but more often than not with this smaller location, a reservation is preferred. Everything we ordered was fantastic including the Mai Tai's off the tiki drink menu. The waitress even offered suggestions when we had questions or debated between items on the appetizer menu. The fried artichoke hearts came with a lovely lemon and fried caper sauce. The French onion soup had a wonderful broth, perfectly cooked onions and topped with plenty of croutons and cheese. Salads were slightly overdressed but a nice mix of iceberg/romaine and arugula. The entrees were definitely the star! Mushroom Risotto was done well, steaks were cooked to PERFECTION and the garlic mashed potatoes were perfectly garlicky. To top it all off, we had to get dessert and it was well worth feeling overly full. A great big portion of tiramisu and the most crispy sugar crust on the creme brulee. read more

Have been here a few years back and had a great meal. Last night we took out of town friends and were very disappointed. First the Bartender refused to garnish with a black cherry instead of maraschino, seemed like a simple request. Ordered steak and Prime Rib, steak was horribly overdone and looked gray, Prime Rib was OK but overpriced. For a place that pretends to be a high-end steakhouse, this was one of the most embarrassingly bad dining experiences I've had in years. The disaster started immediately with a bowl of soup that arrived cold. Not "could be warmer" -- cold. That should have been the first sign that nobody in that kitchen cares about what they're sending out. I ordered the 16oz ribeye medium rare. What showed up was medium well at best, dry, and honestly had a slightly rancid taste that made me question how long it had been sitting around before it hit the grill. When you're charging premium steakhouse prices, overcooking a ribeye is already unacceptable -- serving one that tastes off is even worse. Then came the risotto, which is where things went from disappointing to downright insulting. This was clearly not made to order. I'd be surprised if it was even made that day. The flavor was awful and the texture had the consistency of mortar -- thick, pasty, and completely inedible. At that point we asked to speak with the manager. Our waitress was polite but obviously new and out of her depth, which isn't her fault. What is the restaurant's fault is making us wait over 30 minutes for the manager to even show up. And when he finally did, instead of listening or trying to resolve the situation, he acted like a sarcastic smart-aleck who couldn't care less. We weren't demanding free food or a discount. We simply expected a restaurant charging these prices to acknowledge the problem and attempt to make it right. Instead, we got indifference and attitude. This place is an absolute joke. $140 for cold soup, a ruined steak, cement-grade risotto, and terrible management. I've had better meals at Shari's for a fraction of the price. Save your money and go somewhere that actually deserves it -- because this place certainly doesn't. read more

I was really looking forward to celebrating a special occasion at 115 Broiler, but unfortunately I came down with something and didn't want to risk getting others sick -- especially since it was someone's 50th birthday. Out of courtesy, I stayed home and asked my significant other to order me a steak to-go so I could still be part of the experience in some way. Shockingly, the waitress came back and said the chef refuses to do any to-go orders at all -- not even willing to plate it and box it up. I understand having high standards, but this level of inflexibility felt out of touch and lacking in basic customer service, especially for a nicer restaurant. Had a great anniversary dinner there tonight! Marcy our waitress was wonderful. The ribeye my husband had was tender and flavorful - he loved it! I had the special of seared halibut in an amazingly crunchy panko crust - topped with crab & bearnaise sauce that was the best halibut dish I have ever enjoyed. The mushroom risotto was the perfect compliment. Lots of lovely local wines to accompany our dinner - which we appreciated. Topped it off with an incredible Tiramisu! We went for our anniversary. We arrived about 20-25 minutes early and they said they do not seat people early. We said no problem and suggested sitting at the bar and enjoying a cocktail while our table was being prepared. The lady told us the bar is only a service bar and we don't serve drinks at the bar. Such a disappointment. She suggested we go to another establishment to get a drink. It was rainy and cold and such an inconvenience. Why wouldn't you serve the patrons who are Going to be dining at your establishment?!? Makes no sense. Once we returned for our scheduled reservation, Frank the owner was at the front of the restaurant checking in another group. He rudely pushed them to the side as he saw we had walked in and there wasn't enough room in the front of the restaurant to shut the front door. He abruptly sat us. The waitress came over to take our drink order and I asked for a double. She said the owner doesn't allow us to serve doubles. Am I not paying for this dinning experience? Should we ask for all the guidelines for dining at this establishment before arriving? The hospitality here "Frankly" sucks! As an appetizer we ordered the onion rings, they were exceptional! I ordered the filet as my meal and my SO ordered the steak and fries, they were also good. Although the food was good, how you treat people who come in and spend hard earned money matters. The service was a 4 However this past week was my first visit. I was really looking forward to prime rib however unfortunately it was somewhat dry not juicy and I was extremely disappointed. I should've realized when I looked around at other people's meals. There was no prime rib to be seen. The baked potato was medium warm and a little bit hard, not piping hot and soft. I will say that my other parties fish was a 3 out of 5. Fish can be easily overdone, it needs to be translucent and flaky and melting your mouth too often fish comes out a little dry to very dry. read more

This was our first time visiting One Fifteen Broiler. We enjoyed the ambiance and service was really good! Found out that we were supposed to have reservations, but they found room for us! We enjoyed our drinks very much. We ordered the fillet for $60. I took the time to explain that my fiancé likes well done and I like medium so please have them cook it to a sold medium! We ended up getting it cooked rare to almost medium rare. We were not happy at all. My fiancé would not let me return it to cook longer so we ended up bringing it home. I know in the menu it states best to cook at med rare, not my cup of tea. We might still go back and give it another try. read more

Let's start with the salad or should I say saladette. Not much there and it's October how about 2 slices of a real tomato? My husband had the halibut with risotto which he said was ok. I don't think this place needs another 5-star review but they are getting one from me! Husband and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary last night and it was the perfect evening. First, they were open on a Monday night (be sure to make reservations though as the place has only about 12 tables), our server Dotti has been there 16 years and wished us a lovely celebration - complete with a candle in the thin mints! We ordered the Jordan 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon and there was not a drop left from the bottle. I am a big Sonoma and Napa fan and they had a nice collection of both. We started with the crab stuffed mushrooms which were tasty and hubby even soaked his bread in the warm buttery goodness at the bottom. They had 2 specials but we stuck with steaks for dinner. Husband had the filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes. I had the porterhouse (I love this cut of meat and it is hard to find) with baked potato. The steaks were cooked to perfection and had just the right seasoning. It has been a long time since a steak melted in my mouth but it did just that last night. Dinners came with soup or salad, we had salads - chilled well and fresh ground pepper to boot! No room for dessert but since they knew it was our anniversary, Dotti put a candle in our thin mints for us and even sang us a little song. If you're looking for a traditional steak house, this is your place! I've been coming here for years. However, shrinkflation has hit this place that has had an adverse effect on a customer's expectations of a truly great steakhouse. Here's two reasons: Who LOVES quality fresh bread all crusty on the outside, airy and pull apart soft in the inside served warm at your table with pats of butter to melt into each slice!? Well I definitely do! Now bread ONLY COMES IF YOU ORDER it!! So you HAVE TO BUY the bread (FOR $7.00) and butter usually expected at a good steak house. Especially when you order soup for a starter or your main meal! We ordered our soup and mains, then when we got our soup, we asked where's bread the butter? Thats when he thought it would be the best time to tell us! So we had to wait for the bread so we could dip it into our delicious chowder. So the bread, yeah it was served warm. And that's all I can say about it. The bread had no flavor or body like the good baguette slices they used to serve beautifully crunchy crust and pull apart bouncy in the middle. Hot on the inside butter melting as soon as it hits the spongy slice of carb. The huge knife contraption they served to cut it with was awkward to yield since you sort of crush the loaf as you cut it because the action of using that huge knife to cut the squishy loaf of bread with a weak limp crust (if you can even call it a crust) flattens the loaf. It's NOT good bread. Yes warm and fresh baked, but let's face it...few steakhouses have excellent bakers on hand. I say leave the bread baking to the experts. Okay now the second critique...ITS HILARIOUS!! So lots of people go there for special occasions like birthdays. When there was a birthday, the birthday person got a little scoop of ice cream with a candle even if they themselves didn't order a dessert. It's traditional at every steak house I've ever been to anyway (like a free bread basket n butter). So my best friend here who is close to being a Centurion celebrated her bday with us. Our waiter asked if we want dessert. We answered no. My bestie asked "oh but do I get my bday scoop?" He said "oh we don't do that anymore. But here"... I SWEAR TO YOU THIS IS REAL.. he took out a Bic lighter, struck the roller flint to bring up a flame , pointed it to her direction and proceeded to sing "Happy Birthday to you". I swear to God!!! OMG!! We laughed so hard at the ridiculousness of the scene. It was like a SNL skit but for real!! Oh we'll be telling that story to EVERYONE for years!! She has trouble swallowing so she can only eat soup. So for 2 bowls of chowder (she brought one to take home), 1 dinner salad w/ shrimp and the halibut special the bill came to $110.00 sans tip (my hubby gave $20 cash tip) so altogether $130 for 2 bowls o' soup, 1 dinner salad and a fish mains. No alcolhol, no soft drinks, no appetiser, oh no wait...the bread we had to pay for. So my friends, 115 Broiler is still a good steak house but the value and quality is starting to get affected by inflation. Sign of the times I guess. Perhaps I can suggest to BYOB next time (Bring Your Own Bread)!! Oh and they charge $1.50 for to go boxes so also BYOT (Tupperware). read more

Stopped in Grants Pass on our way home from Seattle to check out some of the local wineries. Found the One Fifteen Broiler on Yelp and in was fantastic. Even though it was a Friday night and we didn't have reservations, they were very accommodating and found us a nice table I had the stuffed prawns and my wife had the salmon, both were delicious. Our waiter was friendly and helpful in answering about the menu. Just the right amount of attention during our meal without being a pest. The place is set up like a NY Bistro, with the usual prints of iconic NY street scenes, however is was nicely done. It is on our return to list the next time we are in Grants Pass. read more

We have eaten here several times with a group of people as well as by ourselves and are always very happy with the entire experience. Wether two people or eight in our dinner party, I have never heard a single complaint about our food. Always delivered perfectly cooked, with a smile. The atmosphere is a nod to the steak houses of decades ago, and the wait staff is helpful and friendly which makes the experience the best in town.
