I got very thick slightly warm potato soup. I ordered crab and shrimp sandwich. I got 2 pieces of toast with a mound of limp greens, maybe a tablespoon of crab and a couple tablespoons of VERY tiny shrimp. I don't mind paying 22.00 for a seafood sandwich and I don't mind paying 8.00 for a cup of clam chowder. This was a complete ripoff. On a good side, service was fine even with a crowded restaurant. I've tried the fish and chips previous visit, got wet soggy fries and fish. I won't be back.

Oh man, all of it was so delicious! While nothing NEEDED to be dipped, the sauce was too good not to be used. I saw a fish sandwich on his page and it looks MOUTH WATERING. And you best believe I'm coming back to try that chicken. (As you can see I've been back for the chicken) Here's another experience of mine at Freddie's- Oh man. Freddie has spoiled me! I'll never eat at KFC again. You could seriously sell the skin off this chicken for loads of money! The flavor is amazing! The chicken was so tender and juicy, I didn't even use sauce! Delicious, superb, friendly, home-style, fresh, made how you like it.... Wonderful little restaurant in Talent, more like a house inside with an adorable little garden surrounding it. We went middle of the week and it was so quiet and relaxing. 3 course meal: delicious home made bread, fresh salad with homemade dressings, to die for curry carrot soup as well as a cold gazpacho. My friend had the halibut while I had a made to order pasta primavera with creamy pesto sauce. My pasta had every vegetable you could want in it! I barely finished half of the huge helping because of the 1st two delicious courses. We also ordered Cremosa Italian sodas, so yummy. This place has one amazing chef and is run by a family with passion for good food and truly appreciates your business. Off the beaten track in a residential neighborhood, this hidden jewel has it all: selection, quality, ambiance! Our party ordered eggplant Parmesan, streak special, and pork chop with a wonderful creamy sauce of Dijon and peppercorns. The steak was perfectly done to order with choice of mushrooms, blue cheese, or morrels. Every meal comes with homemade biscuits, soup (ours was potato-leek), and salad. Salad dressings were brought to the table, and all were fresh-made: blue cheese, blackberry vineagrette, and creamy mustard. Excellent---all! This is a family owned restaurant and they grow their own herbs in the back. The venue is quaint and romantic/an old house...very cozy. I have been eating here for over 40 years and it always excels in quality and friendliness. The Calhoun's are like a second family and have been our restaurant of choice for all special occasions. It's not only do we love you guys, but the food is always over the top good. Our good friend and my hair cutter had her 75th birthday Friday and the restaurant she chose, as our gift to her, was again, dinner at Arbor House. We had an amazing experience celebrating my dad's 85th birthday here! The food was delicious, the service was warm and welcoming, and they even made his favorite soup--split pea--the soup of the day just for him. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the night even more special. Everyone in our group loved their meals, and we couldn't have asked for a better evening. The Arbor House is always a great place to eat.....never disappointing. The three years we have been coming we have always enjoyed the food. Last night we had the Mediterranean seafood pasta and blackened pork tenderloin with mashed garlic potatoes. It was so good! We also had a slice of the carrot cake. Choucroute is that iconic dish, for Alsace, France, and Nous specializes in that region. And having the dish for my last day in Alsace created a treasured memory. The name of the dish is French for sauerkraut. The dish is a sour cabbage braise. Besides lots of that, the dish usually is a mixture of meats and a variety of possible vegetables. A higher-end restaurant is likely to get creative, of course, but there are limits. For example, there should be some sauerkraut. There was almost none. Or it had melted so far it was indistinguishable. There were lots of carrots and green beans. Steamed and obviously not part of the braise. And some potato. Meat is optional, with individual portions that can be added. Each portion is a full protein, such as an entire duck leg and thigh. I wanted a mixture, as is usual for the dish, but that would have required ordering far more meat than I could consume. So I settle on the duck. What came was vastly overcooked and astonishingly over-salted leg that had almost certainly been deep-fried. And maybe more than once. On an average night, I'd have sent it back, but this was my last night in town and I was headed to see the last performance and I didn't want to engage in the hassle that returning the dish would have involved. My best guess is that the dish was left-over and reconstituted. Maybe more than once. I save one star for the times I can't finish the food, or there are other actual traumas. On an average night, that's what I would have left, because that's just how bad the dish was. But since I did finish the meal...

The fish pieces were as thin as cardboard and were approximately 2x3 inches in length and width. The fish and chips were $17.00 which is reasonable if you actually get some fish.
