My sister lives here. Clean nice people. She is well taken care of. The grounds are lovely.

The staff are amazing people. They have been very loving and kind to my Mom with a broken hip injury, They work to get people back up and back at it. Just wanted to say some good things. Arbor has taken such good care of my Mom during her recovery. The skilled nursing staff is kind and helpful, and everyone who works there was responsive. The coordination of care to have her transferred in from another hospital, then assist with getting her home, has been fantastic. The team at Arbor has taken care of everything, from family care training, to referrals, and making sure that the transition home was smooth. I would trust the folks at Arbor with any of my loved ones. Michele Eagleson in Social Services, as well as Mindy, Occupational Therapy, moved mountains to help with some tricky paperwork and approvals through insurance. The care was very good, personalized and respectful. The office was also responsive to questions and calls. The rooms and hallways smelled good (not like other places which smell of urine etc). physical and occupational therapists also were good to my family member. My 93 year old Mom was discharged from hospital to Arbor after surgery - I was leery as other facilities I'd been in were dismal. I was pleasantly surprised by first how clean and bright it is; second I can't say enough about the wonderful staff - helpful, attentive, supportive, knowledgeable from administration to nursing, CNA's, therapists even housekeeping, laundry and kitchen staff - I had questions, concerns and interactions with all. If you're dealing with this situation either as a patient or the family - it's difficult and stressful- I highly recommend Arbor for care. read more

These people that work here are amazing! CNAs, PTs, Nurses, office staff, you name it, they care about what they are doing and it shows. I've been here by a relative's bedside 6 hours a day for about 2 weeks and have observed firsthand the care and compassion given to all residents, not just the ones who have family watching. Let's face it: people don't end up here because they want to ... they get old, they get injured, etc. The people here provide the care and comfort that we can't (or won't) do at home. The food is prepared by a trained chef, is very tasty and delivered hot and on time. There is a hair salon, a gym, and a library. I am sad as I watch the end of life process in my loved one. But, that's life. Ten out of 10 doctors say we will all expire someday ... I'm just glad we got the care and support we have from the professionals at Arbor. read more

My mom fell during her stay at Arbor. The doctor assessment suggested no ER visit was necessary. When I insisted she be taken to the ER, X-rays confirmed her ankle was broken in two place and her foot was broken. Arbor did not even give her anything for pain. No fall mats were provided, alarms weren't answered. read more

6 months ago I would have said "over my dead body" if you asked me if I would send a family member to Arbor. My mom passed away here and was overall not a good experience at that time. My view on Arbor has changed under the direction of the current administration. My dad had a fall with multiple fractures and was sent to a local facility where to say the care he received was subpar would be an understatement. Within an hour at Arbor he said that he was treated more like a human being compared to the 10 days he was at the other facility. Almost daily my dad tells me that he is happy and that Jessica, Reagan, Lori, and Hailey take really good care of him and always try to make him laugh. He loves his therapists Gerry and Chris who not only got him walking after 2 weeks of being bed bound but also make sure that he has a sense of humor. At Arbor my dad has not only improved physically but mentally as well due to the amazing staff. Arbor is no longer a building that just focuses on the patients or staff but focuses on the building itself and its impact on the residents. read more

My wife has Multiple Sclerosis. She needed to go to Enloe hospital. She was then transferred to Enloe Rehabilitation center and then to Arbor Post Care formally know as Twin Oaks. This is not a new building but is well kept up and clean. The food is good and with a good variety. The people that work there are top notch. They are nice, caring, and attentive. I felt good to leave my wife there every night after I stayed to visit her for hours. My wife was helped with her problem so she could go home to continue her life. Good people good place. read more

It would be a cold day in H*** before I allowed my loved one to be in this facility. I know first hand how the patients & CNAs are treated. with the exception of a couple amazing nurses . Wendy & Dawn you two are amazing . As an employee you are a body , and not a human being with feelings . I watched some great CNAs and I watched some that are abusive to the residents . I wouldn't put a family member in this facility if it were the only one available . It's a huge red flag when people who work at Arbor are calling the state themselves . Please speak up if you see what I have . I have sat with patients as they have told me how horrible it is to be in a place they are treated horribly . Do better Arbor . In Fact clean house and get rid of any employee who doesn't want to care for the patients , and is only there for a paycheck. Never in my life have I been so disrespected by coworkers . Yes I am a current employee , and I am still there due to how much I care about the residents . I call the state , and never go to the Director of Nursing . They won't listen nor do they care . It's more like a mean girl high school than a healthcare facility. I am in nursing school now to be an RN. I can't wait to finish , and show patients what true care really looks like . read more

I am a daughter of a wonderful 98yr mom who has been at Arbor Post Acute(formerly Twin Oaks) since 2018. There have been three different exec. directors since I have been involved with this care facility....all of them were personally pleasant and helpful to me. All three are available by phone as I need. In fact, I have always had great support from staff regardless of their role there. I live 6-7 hour drive away....I would have taken my mom to a place geographically closer to me (a selfish desire on my part), but she has lived her entire life in Chico. I am mom's only living child. She has friends,relatives and step family in Chico. She knows Chico, still reads the newspaper daily which have sent into her. I did get her a private phone by her bed and that facilitates our daily or twice daily phone chats. A blessing for me! I am a huge fan of this place which I realize goes against what others have written. Here is why---- No one ever wants to go into a place like this. But, human physical problems often cause necessity to take over. I could not at all do the physical work of helping my mom in her wheelchair. I am not trained nor phycially capable. So, what to do? At first we had mom in and out of rehab and Enloe Hospital until she stablized after falling and fracturing her femur. It never healed enough for her to be alone any longer. At the time, Arbor(then Twin Oaks) had a room available. Note--at that time in 2018 on that particular day, there were only 5 places available in Chico . And Rehab was releasing her. What do I do???? what would you do???? You can't always have a room available in a certain facility. AND, please realize I visited all facilites in Chico. I even rented a beautfiul assisted living studio apt, mom lasted one night there. She is not capable of most activities of daily living and could not stay there......skilled nursing is her need at this beautiful stage of her life. Her mind is intact, her humor is obvious and yes she forgets things---so do I ! This is not easy-----but I am so thankful mom and I talked and talked about what would happen " if.".....and the "if" happened....she fell and could no longer live in her 3 story house alone. For years, while she was still in her home, we had a wonderful helper from Happy at Home (another great company in Chico, check them out too if you are trying to keep your loved one at home)...... The time came, we moved mom to Arbor. I sold our family home to help accommodate the expense, I stayed in a hotel for a summer to be close......I got to learn about the daily activities, the daily meals, etc. I spent alot of time at the facility with mom, getting to know not only routines but people from residents to director. Yes there were growing pains and lessons to learn as we transitioned into this stage of our lives. Mom's shared room is delightful....for her it is what she needs now. Yes, we went through a few tough times about meals, staff problems, etc. I chose to simply always work toward what would help Arbor staff help my mom .........I still stay close as possible. I visit Chico once a month now or more if necessary. I miss her daily, but to use her exact words, "This is my home now, I am content". Mom has friends in Chico who visit---one is a long time friend from her time at InMotion fitness waterwalking classes....he visits her almost daily. The friends stay in touch with me alot which helps me emotions. I still pay for a helper from Happy at Home to be with her two lunchtimes a week just for a diversion and a bit of card playing! This has been an incredible learning experience for me. I believe most people are doing the best they can at any point in time. Everyone is human and has problems. We do, staff does, residents here do. Patience is needed..... Arbor Post Acute is the best place for my mom and I am choosing to help her in any way I can. Yes, I would rather she was at my house with 10 full time staff helping both of us. Given my financial, emotional and physical capabilities, I happily chose Arbor Post Acute. I have been dealing with Twin Oaks for over a year, and I can say they talk a good game when you first bring your family member in! Now, once my parent had been there for a while, they stopped being even remotely polite. They also have sent my parent out to Doctors Appointments without a staff member, which is a huge issue as my parent has suffered a massive stroke and in non verbal & paralyzed on one side. I know they have done this because I was able to get to the doctors appointment at the last minute (which they did NOT know I was coming) and when I asked why there was not a staff member, they said my parent didn't say she wanted one. Really? I'm not surprised since my parent has not said much since the stroke! Here's the great part though-when I asked the Director about this and asked him if they had billed Medicare & Medical for an assistant, he said "well, yes! There's supposed to be someone with [my parent] incase of seizure or any medical emergency" Hmmmm???? Doesn't that equal FRAUD? Billing the state for services you didn't provide? Now they called me today, stating that they don't have a signed copy of the paper stating to do any life saving things & they're trying to get me to do "only comfort measures" even though that is NOT what my parents wishes are! Beware of this place! If I had it to do over I would not place my family member here! read more

I am a caregiver and my precious client had to come here after she was discharged from the hospital. This place is DISGUSTING. There is zero privacy for the patients. It is so small there is Barely any room for anyone to come visit their loved ones. My client had to use the bathroom while i was visiting her so I pressed the call button, 10 minutes go by with zero acknowledgement. Press again. Finally had to walk to the nurses station to ask someone to take her and they all just blankly stared at me. DO YOUR JOB!! Also, when my client's husband asked if he can take her home tomorrow, they said that once the doctor feels she is ready to be dishcharged, it will be an ENTIRE WEEK for all of the paperwork and everything to be completed. This place is horrible, try your hardest to not send your loved ones here. I feel like they do this to get more money from Medicare. read more

The staff at APA are phenomenal. They are doing everything humanly possible to keep patients safe against COVID. The care my mom is receiving is the very best. She receives therapy, she enjoys the food, and she is happy and comfy. Most importantly she is treated with kindness and dignity. read more

Palmally is the administrator of this place and she is very rude. She is no interest in updating their website with pictures of the facility because she is too embarrased to show people what it really looks like. There are no pictures on their site of the rooms, dining rooms, bathrooms court yard or faciltiies. She has no interest in making this facility more effcient to viewing or answering direct email and emailing brochures because she doesn't care. So please don't fall for the old trick you need to come see this place until you get pictures and really try to have this person replaced because she is not doing this facility any good......... read more

My Mom spent three weeks at Twin Oaks and can't say enough about how well she was treated and taken care of. The nursing staff was always there to help and care for her. The therapy staff were caring and helpful. They listened to us when we had concerns, and addressed them to our satisfaction. We were very pleased to have our Mom at this facility. I would recommend Twin Oaks to anyone needing rehab care. read more
