While in Oklahoma, I went to @arbucklewilderness, which is a drive-thru safari zoo. we have done a few of these previously, and the kids have always enjoyed it. many different types of animals that will walk up to your vehicle and you can feed, like Llamas,Giraffes, Zebras, Ostriches, Goats, Sheep, Reindeer, and more. and the. there are other animals that are in separate cages like wolves, white tigers, and rhinos. overall, it was pretty cool.

Meh it was ok. Very run down. Animals look sad. Unless you're into spending a fortune on spending donkeys it's kinda lame. Roads are awful need to be maintained. Mostly only donkeys and llamas that you can feed everything else stays away from the road or is locked up

Big let down in my opinion. It is run down and the animals looked a little unkept. It was a lot of donkeys and ducks. We saw 2 zebras, 1 giraffe, a few ostriches, a rhino and buffalo's. It was too expensive for what you saw. Thats for sure. The signs are old looking and unkept and major potholes on the driving path. Gift shop was dark and gloomy.

Similar comments as what other Yelpers mentioned that this drive-thru zoo is run-down and probably have seen better days. The restroom in the back of the gift shop was not in the best condition. Driving through the park and viewing the animals was fine. There were enough of the same or similar types of animals to see, but they don't have a wide variety. Feeding the giraffe from the car was a cool experience though, especially if you have a sunroof. We also saw a white tiger in it's cage and it looked stressed, totally reminding me of Tiger King's place. I've been to plenty drive-thru zoos across America, and this one would be the lowest ranked one on my list because of the reasons above. However, if this is the closest drive-thru zoo near you and you got little ones that love animals, this will suffice if you're okay with their admission cost which seems a lot for what they have to offer.

Another sad animal in a tiny enclosure (hyena)

At first glance, we thought the place was closing or close to closing. The blond teen girl that cashed us out could really use some social skills training, though. No greeting, no explanation, no please or thank you, and in the gift shop, she rolled her eyes at us. The cashier girl was much warmer and polite. Pros: honestly, the donkeys and llamas/alpacas stole the show for us. They are well aware that they will be fed by the humans in the car and they gang up on you, and it's hilarious. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. There was a nice mixture of wild animals to come across, and the park itself is huge. It seemed to never end. I recommend getting the 6 cups of feed (or more!!) because you will need it. Cons: obvs the blond girl. The roads have major cracks, potholes and missing chunks, so if you have a sedan, I wouldn't advise that you drive it. You're better off in an SUV or truck that can handle traction and steep slopes. My friend and I had serious concerns about the "artic wolf" enclosure, the hyena enclosure, the kangaroo enclosure and the white tiger/liger enclosure. IF that's an artic wolf, he was parched, and doesn't belong in a dry, hot shade-less enclosure. The hyena looked dead, the kangaroos had no physical or mental stimulation and the tiger was super overweight and clearly anxious, as he circled his tiny enclosure repeatedly. Low-key, I wish the state would investigate this place. In the gift shop, the poor Amazon parrot was lonely, which is never healthy, and the monkeys had tiny cages. The products sold were overpriced items you could buy from Amazon or Temu. We were also very confused by the random, decrepit train cars decaying in the parking lot section. Overall, I would recommend for a family that wants to be drooled on by llamas and donkeys, but don't have high expectations and definitely don't come in your honda Civic.

We were in the area so we decided for nostalgia we would drive through. I was shocked at the cost for one, and felt like it was a little run down. Regardless it brought us lots of smiles and laughs, the donkeys were definitely a fan favorite.

This place is so much fun! My family and I had never been to a drive thru wilderness park where you can feed the animals and see a lot up close. It's a good laugh and the drive out there is a very peaceful. We really enjoyed seeing every animal. The donkeys and llamas were our favorite because they love to stand in the way and also have zero shame of sticking their heads in the cars to take food one donkey scared my daughter and she dropped all of the pallets and made a mess, (still to this day I find them in my car LOL). But overall this definitely a place that needs to be checked out and I will for sure go back again with my family!!

Debating whether to give it 3 or 4 stars. With the right mood it is very fun, mostly deer and donkeys but they are funny. Food doesn't last very long so recommend pacing or buying more than 3 cups. Time flew when driving through because all the laughing going on. In my opinion for how much it cost you would think the place looks a bit better.

We had an absolute blast experiencing this trail. It was so much fun for us and the animals made us laugh the whole entire time. When you pull up you can also buy feed and we bought the biggest bag. We still had a little feed left over so we gave it to the last animals we saw. You definitely don't want to run out of feed while you're on the trail. The trail is a little narrow and hilly but it's a long trail which makes it worth the price. We saw so many different animals and I always think about the beautiful long horns we saw during the drive.

Let me tell you, this was a frickin' adventure to say the least! I've always wanted stop here as I passed through during many visits to and from Texas and Oklahoma. Well...after the rain had passed, I said what the heck, I'm exiting. Yolo solo...yeeee! Little did I know...the donkeys, llamas, and ginormous camel had been waiting for me. No one else...just for me! The animals were hungry y'all. With bravery I entered, ordered a cup of food and drove the winding, never-ending safari road. The animals were fearless and me...well, not so much haha. Gratefully I didn't roll any up in my windows. It cost me around $21, and honestly I felt it was worth it...but I tend to value experiences even if short. This didn't feel short though haha. I did like to see the animals roaming freely (they seemed happy) and the lake was gorgeous. I would come back, especially with kids and others! I'm glad I got my own terror out of the way first. I am now equipped to have an experience with minimal screaming. I feel like I deserve a certificate of completion. Contact me for my address Arbuckle Wilderness lol. A few recommendations: Don't come solo, don't come on a wet day, and don't drive in a low car. Take a deep breath and enjoy the ride. Get at least 2 cups of food aaaand you're welcome!

I want to give them 5 stars bc my family had a blast. Feeding the animals was awesome. At first we didn't see any but towards the middle they came out and started eating. We got two cups of food and I wish we had gotten more. Lots of animals. Cool experience But... the bathrooms were DISGUSTING. They have a sign that says the clean every 15 min but you can tell that's a lie. They smelled like a zoo.. they were absolutely disgusting and not taken care of. Refused to let my family use them. All in all we had a great time. Would do it again but make sure you use the bathroom before hand somewhere else. Two adults and a free kid with two cups of food was a little over $40.00

I think it's a great place, never seen Joe Exotic, but seen his former place. It is a beautiful park like setting a drive yourself tour. It is like 60 dollars for three and very fair. Lot's of Animals to feed and you're given cups and you purchases the feed. I bought the 8 pound bag and it was gone pretty quick.

A very mild form of tiger king without the tigers. Ha. Ok, had to go there. But, it was nice. We arrived right as they opened. We did not have to wait long. We paid, and had a military discount. We bought 4 cups of food as well. We rode around slowly stopping and never felt like we were having to rush. We actually went around a second time. The staff that we did come in contact with were polite and waved. Make sure you pull over so that people can go around you, and do not be a hog and sit at an animal for over 15 minutes creating a line. Other than that it was something to do while staying in your car.

Ask the Community - Arbuckle Wilderness

Can we bring a small dog in our car?

I didn't see any signs against it. I think as long as the dog wouldn't be barking or disturbing the other animals it seems as if it's be ok since you just stay in your car through the whole driving part of the park.

How much does it cost to drive thru?

If I recall correctly, it was like $18.95 per adult.

Is the giraffe they had still there?

As of 6/6/2020, the giraffe is still in residence.

I found Tiger Zoofari on Facebook, and of course my youngest was sitting next to me while I was…read morescrolling. Naturally, she immediately wanted to go! I had read about the tiger feeding experience and all of the other animals you can feed and hold, and that is right up our alley. Even after reading some of the negative reviews from animal rights activists, we decided to experience it for ourselves. It's about a 3-hour drive from us, so we booked a trip for the 4th of July weekend. When we made our reservation, Bill kept recommending that we stay in one of the cabins because of our young kids. We ended up choosing the treehouse instead, and honestly I'm glad we did. We had an amazing view of fireworks going off all around us along with an incredible lightning show that night. Driving in reminded me a lot of Texas Zoofari--you don't really know what to expect until you start seeing the signs and arrive at the property. Check-in was easy. They walked us to our treehouse, made sure everything worked, and answered any questions we had. We immediately turned on the A/C, unpacked, and walked around the park for a bit. Since it was so hot, we headed back to the treehouse to let it cool down while we took a nap. Once it finally cooled off, we grilled hot dogs and made s'mores on the propane grill while watching the tigers play below us. That alone made for a really fun evening. The Mega VIP experience was definitely worth it. We got to hold and interact with so many different animals. My girls were a little disappointed they didn't get to hold a monkey or lemur, but that's only because they've had that opportunity before at Canton Safari in Texas, so their expectations were a little high. The treehouse was a fun experience for one night. If we stayed longer, though, I'd probably choose one of the cabins simply because of the bathroom setup. A few suggestions that I think would make the experience even better: * The shared bathrooms could definitely use A/C. They were extremely humid, and daily attention to emptying the trash, refilling soap, cleaning the sinks, and sweeping/mopping would make a big difference. * During the summer, it would be nice if the A/C in the treehouses was turned on before guests arrived. We checked in around 2:00 p.m., and even after asking for a fan, it took over six hours before the treehouse became comfortable. * Adding a lighter to each cabin or treehouse would be helpful so guests can use the propane fire pit. We made do by using the grill. * I do think the tigers would benefit from a little more enrichment in their enclosures like you see at many accredited zoos. Other than that, every animal we saw appeared healthy, well cared for, and happy. A huge shoutout to Bill for making my daughter's birthday extra special by surprising her with a stuffed tiger. That simple act absolutely made her day and meant so much to us. Maggie, who is interning there, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. She answered all of our questions and made the experience even better. The other three ladies working there were also incredibly kind and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Don't let the negative reviews keep you from forming your own opinion. If your family enjoys hands-on animal encounters and making unique memories, I definitely recommend giving this hidden gem a chance.

This was definitely a unique experience. We spent about 3 hours at the park, I do wish the gift shop portion had a few more offerings.
