Over eating on chocolate was the only mishap of the day! Arby's tasted amazing. Thank you for the service that you provide.

We were greeted promptly and took a few minutes to look at the menu. I LOVE roast beef, so it peaked my interest. My wife chose the Smiley burger. We placed our order and grabbed a seat. Place was quiet even though it was probably 75% full for lunch. Roast beef was served hot in toasted sour dough. Cheddar, tomato, lettuce and horseradish topped the generous portion of roast beef. Bread was crisp and the beef was hot and juicy. Horseradish gave a nice tangy flavor. My wife's Smiley burger was hand patted. Juicy and perfectly cooked. Bun was soft inside and nicely toasted in the outside. Bread and butter pickles, onion, tomato and lettuce topped it off. But the star of the show were the fries cooked in beef tallow!! Hot and salty, crispy and a deep flavor. I would come back just for the fries. Although a little bit pricey for lunch, it was excellent! Staff were friendly and attentive! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back! Thanks for an awesome lunch and excellent experience!

They take absolute care and pride in everything--even the eggs were extra tasty and their breakfast sandwiches....yum. Most of the pastries are made with sourdough (except danishes, cookies, muffins). And they are top notch. Tender, buttery, flavorful, no skimping on anything. Just plain delicious. Bought more to save for afternoon coffee. The Friday offerings of challah, rye, and bagels are not sourdough but made with great care--even the bagels are made using tangzhong and cold proofed for 48 hours. Even those who do not emote about food and those carefully counting macros and calories in our family were impressed, vocal, and eagerly finishing off all of the offerings, sweet and savory. And great service!

The space itself is beautiful--clean, intentional, and unique--with visual nods to milling and baking traditions. You can see elements of the mill and wheat motifs in the background, which adds a quiet sense of craftsmanship and history without feeling staged. The pastries are exceptional. Their croissants are perfectly flaky and buttery, the sourdough is deeply flavorful, and the morning buns strike that ideal balance of richness and warmth. The baguette is crisp on the outside, tender inside--everything you want it to be. Every item feels carefully made, never rushed. What stands out most is the consistency and care. Breadworks manages to feel elevated yet welcoming--refined without being pretentious. It's clear they take pride in both their craft and their process, and it shows in every bite. A true standout in Birmingham and absolutely worth returning to.

Sure, some call it "the experience," but that falls flat when the service is completely lacking. One rainy night, my friends and I walked from farther away in pouring rain, shook off our coats and umbrellas outside, and stepped in dripping, only to be met with stares and zero help. We felt judged from the moment we entered. (WARNING: make sure you dress like you have money or whatever, not that we were in slacks or anything). The waiter that evening was also so snobby, inattentive, and provided terrible customer service. Ambiance is meh. So dark and crowded, no privacy. The food is equally disappointing: wildly overpriced with no real flavor balance. Dishes come out either bland and plain or excessively salty. Not once across three visits did anything impress me, and I've never left having enjoyed myself. So, I'm really not sure what the hype is about this place.
