During the spring of 2024, Super Chix took over the old Krispy Kreme building on Highway 280 in the Greystone area of Birmingham. When Super Chix and Cookie Fix opened weeks apart, rhyming businesses occupying the left and right halves of the structure respectively, it's almost too perfect to be an accident. You'd think they collaborated, but it's sheer coincidence. Cookie Fix originated in Birmingham in 2017, while Super Chix opened in Dallas in 2014, and both have now crossed paths within the same confines. The fresh-cut fries at Super Chix are really good with a plethora of dipping sauces, including a ranch so delicious it's probably made on site. But I'd recommend the regular fries over the loaded fries which are a bit overwhelming with a questionable cheese sauce. The chicken is pretty good, but the Nashville hot chicken isn't even close to authentic (coming from someone who lives in Nashville). Regardless, this is a tasty sampling of southern deliciousness. It doesn't have to be perfect. And kudos for carrying fried pickles and an English toffee custard! This is a pretty decent stop for families traveling along 280 into or out of Birmingham. But with so many exceptional fried chicken spots in the South, don't expect anything mind blowing here. read more

Found on Yelp, figured give it a try, if not familiar with area it's in the old Krispy Kreme building on 280. We order at 11:45 and got food at 12. These was Saturday of memorial day weekend. Got buffalo ranch sandwich, fried pickles, cheesy BBQ sandwich, loaded fries and 2 drinks and it came total of 38.99. All the food was great and big servings , issue I had was the buffalo was very heavy on the sauce. (It most likely dipped in buffalo sauce) Notice to staff stay busy taking care of customers and cleaning. Everything was nice. Little loud inside but that okay. The sauce bar is a great bonus, their homemade sauces are perfect with the juicy chicken. And heads up: the large fries are truly large and seriously tasty. read more

No surprise, but the place was a madhouse! They moved the line quickly and orders came out in an appropriate amount of time. The portions are really big too. The breading on the chicken is reminiscent of CFA, but the strips are way bigger. The best thing... no crinkle cut fries. In my opinion, crinkle cut fries are only 1 step above steak fries in my rankings of fry style. I felt that the strips and the fries needed a tad more salt. They have self serve drinks and sauces which is a pro and a con. It was a little challenging getting to those stations with all the people but nice to have it out and easy to grab. There were a ton of people working. Maybe too many. That was a little overwhelming. Different workers stopped by our table several times to see if we needed anything or to try to take our tray. I guess I'd rather have them be overly attentive than not. Overall a good experience, especially for only being open for a week! read more

How fun to have a great new place to eat on this side of 280. It was so kid friendly too! I loved that the kids meals came with mandarin oranges as an option. It was busy and our food came out fast. The food was delicious and my kids loved the custard. My favorite part was how friendly the staff was. I was so impressed with their customer service and going above and beyond. I ordered the following curbside,1 regular chicken sandwich 1 four piece chicken tenders, fries and fried pickles. Sandwich was good. The chicken tenders were good but tough. The fries and pickles were horrible, cold and soggy, both went in the trash. The young man that took my order referred to me as brother, I'm 62 and should be called sir. I received no napkins or sauce. The fries and pickles may be better if you eat in. Very little travel time from store to my home. I might give them another chance, maybe. read more

Great first experience. Service was great, everyone very helpful getting drinks, clearing trays, etc. Space has ample seating and is set up in a way where you can still move around, not sitting right on top of each other. Music selection playing was spot on. I had tenders and regular fries with salt. All delicious, including the amount of fries three tenders was plenty. Husband got the loaded fries which could be a meal on their own and the Buffalo sandwich. He said the chicken was good but very heavy of the buffalo sauce and had to resort to a fork for the mess factor. We also shared a chocolate shake, I probably wouldnt do that again for the price and personal preference but if you're giving me a shake with a domed lid I want whipped cream on it. Love It! Love the Chicken, Love the Sauce Bar, Love the Fries and Love THE STAFF. Where do they get such wonderful young people? Better service than most high end restaurants and with so many sauces it never gets old. I always order a "simple with Gouda ", that's a sandwich without sauce and switch it up or mix them as I go. The Korean BBQ and Nashville Heat are my favorites but they are all good. The fries are addictive but that's OK because you get So Many. I look forward to it ALL every time I go, which is often.
