They bully disabled workers on staff, and they wonder why people quit or don't come back for their next shift. I came back from medical leave to work for Burger King again. I am a disabled individual and I brought in documentation to be able to sit when I need to. This did not stop me from doing my job. An assistant manager made comments to staff members about how unfair it was that I got to sit down whenever I want, he made comments when I was around that I shouldn't even be there because the whole point of the job is standing, and he made suggestions for me to quit constantly. When another coworker of mine had a heart attack he said he didn't care and that tomorrow her leg will probably fall off and that "shit happens". These comments made staff members treat me differently. I had a staff member no longer allow me to do a job I had done for over four years because she now felt I was "incompetent". She continually made comments about me being lazy and incompetent in reference to me needing to sit and when I brought it up to management nothing was done. This staff member wouldn't let me do my job because she felt I wasn't capable of it and only let me stay in the back. I felt ostracized. The last day I was there before I resigned she made comments about how I smelt, and about my weight under her breath because I refused to be pushed aside and sent to be in the back doing dishes for my 7 hour shift just liked she forced me to do every shift. She argued with the manager in front of me saying I can't do anything and we should have people who can actually work. The managers solution was not to write her up for bullying, but was okay with cutting my hours so we no longer worked together. I resigned.
