Went back to have that one fixed and it broke again a few days after that along with 2 other nails. Bot only that, but the gel polish on all nails are lifting/peeling off and it's only been 2 weeks. They want you to write a 5 Star review before leaving, which I'm usually happy to do cause I'm a reviewer regardless, but that definitely is why they have all 5 star google reviews. I'm rewriting this review after different experiences I've encountered over the past few years. I only come here sporadically due to how close it is to where I live. Gel pedicures were a hit or miss. I, however, will no longer be coming back here after yesterday's experience with a gel-x removal. I am fully aware my gel was very thick and needed more time to be removed but the "technician " filed down my nails SO much that my hyponychium (skin extending from finger under nail bed) was exposed. It's super sensitive and painful and the nails weren't even on top of that. As a nail salon, you should know the limit in which a person's nails should be filed down to. I picked an emerald green color because I usually don't wear that color and wanted to try something new. Overall my nail technician was pretty good. I did a gel manicure and they came out great. She also did some gold accents on both of my ring fingers to bring out the pretty color. Overall I am super satisfied with the whole process and it didn't take long at all. I used to come here regularly but I stopped. At first the service was nice, they even gave me a pillow to use and the workers were kind. Her and another lady were talking to me about what I do for work, while the other lady complimented me and said I had nice skin, the older one said "you work at home so you don't have to wear beautiful clothes". It's really hard to find a nail salon that checks off every box for me, but I think Arcadia Nail Bar is a solid nail salon that comes pretty close! Came here with a friend and we both got mani/pedis. I got acrylic nails and a regular pedi. Amy did a nice job on my acrylic nails - I showed her the design I wanted on Pinterest and she came pretty close in replicating it! The tiny flower designs are quite intricate to dot on so if you look closely, it's not super clean, but overall, I like it. She nicked a small part of my skin by my ring finger nail, but honestly, it wasn't painful, just stings a little the day after. Yin did my pedicure and she did a great job -- I was very relaxed and my toe nails turned out nice and polished. She gave a great foot massage too. The salon itself is very clean and spacious. And the pricing is reasonable. $60 for full acrylic set with design, $40 for a pedicure with callus removal. I went back to Arcadia Nail Bar before my wedding in October to get my nails done and they were able to get me in the same day I called in the same hour and got me a manicure and pedicure with some awesome treatments for a very reasonable price and pampered me the whole time. They did exactly what I was looking for and I really loved how my nails turned out. I went here 2 weeks ago. I waited to post a review because I really wanted to see how the nails held up. I actually called ahead to make an appt for my mom and I asked for a full set and pedicure for myself and a pedicure for my mom. When we walked in we weren't greeted. I had to walk and say why I was there. When I told them it was for an appointment they said they didn't have anything written down. We were told to sit and wait, which we did only have to wait about 15 minutes but we did have an appointment. To make things worse someone else walked in who had an appointment but they took her right away. They didn't have time or enough people to do my pedicure. Which in hindsight was a good thing. This picture is from the night I got my nails done. They were supposed to be a coffin shape. The shape was totally off, the acrylic was uneven, and the gel was terrible. About 1 week in 2 of my nails totally lifted and fell off. Now 2 weeks all nails have lifted. My mom got a gel pedicure, she went with their basic pedicure with gel and a callus removal. The gel began peeling of a few days later. Which is crazy for a person who is in sandals 95% of the time. The fact that my nails were $70 and my mom's pedicure was $65 was beyond outrageous for the service and the end result we received. read more

This place was amazing! I came last min....literally an hour before closing & they still took me in. I did call ahead of time though. Amy did my pedicure & I loved it. The place is nice & they had a lot of people working. I got the $45 pedi which includes callus remover, salt scrub, and a mask (or some other scrub). It was sooooo relaxing. They do not know how to do modern nails, based on the nail tech I got. They tell you they can do it but proved otherwise. She did not know how to match chrome colors and my nail shape was not done well either. I'm suspicious that the finished nail pictures they have on their yelp page were not done here. They take a very long time. A 45 minute job took her two hours to do. My tech left the table over 8 times to do other things while she was doing my nails. I also saw another nail tech on the phone taking down appointments with a huge calendar at the nail table while he was doing a lady's nails. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this place. They just took too long and are not up to date on their techniques. read more

Nailist was great but a person who did pedicure wasn't. Had powder dip and she was professional. The shape, cuticles and service was professional. However the person who did my pedicure wasn't. Colors were not fully painted, nail shape is irregular and not smooth. Had additional callus removal but side of the heels and toes weren't treated. Massage was not even massage. She just rubbed lotion to my legs. Total price was $90 and I'm not sure the breakdowns. I wish all of the tip goes to my nailist. read more

Both times I showed up on time for appointments and the following happened: 1) I stood at the entrance and no one came up to me for about 15 minutes. They didn't even acknowledge me. 2) when they finally did approach me, they asked me if I had an appointment...and I said yes. They looked at me surprised as if they weren't expecting me. They said it would be a wait because they are too busy/understaffed.The first time, I did wait...and it ended up being about 45 wait. The second time, I walked out because they didn't even tell me if they would be able to service me. Basically, don't waste your times calling for an appointment. It doesn't make a difference and you will still wait, or not get serviced. read more

I had a horrible experience at this salon. If I could give them negative 5 stars I would. First of all, they claim to speak English; they have an American receptionist who is really nice and obviously speaks English, but the rest have extremely limited English, just basic, and you can almost not communicate with the nail technician, at least the ones I dealt with, who were two different women from Vietnam. They were very nice ladies, though. I asked them to remove my gel nails and to please not use the drill. I had gone to a salon in Pasadena where they only soaked them, then wrapped them in cotton and aluminum foil until the gels got super soft. Then, they gently pushed the product off my nails with a tiny spatula. No drill or hard filing was necessary! So, I asked her if she could do that, she said no, and insisted that she was not going to hurt my nails at all, that it was only going to be superficial, but I was scared. After she finished, my nails were filed down so thin I could see my skin underneath, and not only that, if I touched the red areas I could feel pain. It was horrible. She kept taking my hands away, rushing to put nail color on them so I couldn't see the skin anymore. I told her this was bad and took a few quick photos. You can see how brittle my nails look and the skin right there. The gels she was removing were originally done at the same salon a couple of weeks before. The name of the woman who did the gels was Cam, and she did a pretty good job. The problem was taking them off when I came back! This time it was someone else, and I can't recall her name. At some point, she left the chair and started working on someone's feet, and another lady sat and finished polishing my nails. I didn't want any more gel after seeing this. During the next week, my nails broke and peeled as if they were made of paper. It was so bad I had to wear bandages on each finger. I had to travel to Arizona for work and it was hard for me to even move my bags around from the car and around the airport as my nails kept getting snagged and torn to a really high level where you see the red and they even bled, this was an emergency. My friend in Scottsdale took me to her salon. She recommended trying SNS dip powder instead of gels. So, I went online to see if the Arcadia salon did SNS, thinking: okay, one woman made a mistake, but that doesn't mean everybody will be bad. I called a moment ago. The nice receptionist answered the phone and listened to my story, she felt bad and sounded very understanding. I told her that I was still willing to let go of my bad experience and come back to them, my specific question was if they could always soak them instead of filing them down, like the salon in Arizona does (like in Pasadena too). So, she said, let me put my manager on the phone. Right from the start, he was rude, loud, wouldn't let me finish speaking, and never apologized for what I told him had happened. I kept trying to slow him down, but he wouldn't, he would breathe loudly on the phone as if he was extremely annoyed by me, he told me 'you don't get it' several times to which I replied that I was a scientist with a PhD and also a pilot and that I usually don't have trouble understanding things a little more complicated than nails beauty :) He said he explained to me exactly how they had to do this and in the explanations, he went back and forth between filing down and soaking, it was very confusing, and when talking about what happened to me all he said was, 'That's not how they were supposed to do it'. I tried to reason with him and he kept getting aggravated and being the opposite of polite and nice. He sounded like an Asian person with a thick accent, which is not a problem to me, but his attitude was so horrible and his way of communicating was unintelligible. We ended up hanging up not getting anywhere. I was JUST asking if they could soak them like in Pasadena and do SNS dip powder from now on but I felt very frustrated and mistreated. I am a good customer, leave very good tips and try to deal with any kind of situation with a positive attitude but this one was pretty impossible. It would have been easy for him to say, please come back, we will do our best to make it up to you, but no, just rude and arrogant. I'm definitely not returning. They've lost a new client due to sheer stubbornness and bad manners. read more
