Large baseball area with turf adjacent to playground area with benches and seats and a small grassy area good for playing outdoor games. A trail takes you around the small grassy field and playground area, and towards the baseball section. What I like: A canal separates the dog area from everything else so there's less likely of any dog accidents with children at the playground. The separation also makes it a great training spot if your dog has issues with other dogs. We love to use this area to develop relationship and continue building focus in a distracting area. The entire place is fenced so I let my dog roam on a long line without fear of running into the street. read more

I met some friends here so our pooches could enjoy some play time. In terms of dog parks, it's quite nice. I like that is has secure fencing as well as a double gate for entry & exit, so you don't have to worry about a dog getting out. There is a separate section for big dogs and small dogs and both were clean and spacious. It's also separate from the park to ensure safety. There are benches to sit on and some trees for shade. Complimentary poop bags are available in addition to a doggie water fountain. The attached park is also nice and maintained. It has basketball courts and a playscape for kids. read more

Completely revamped! It's so nice now, almost worth the several months of being closed due to construction. Both large and small dog sides are much larger, cuter, and more grass! My only small complaint is access.. the closest street parking to the large entrance is on semi busy Colorado, I just get nervous grabbing my dog out of the car by a big street. Then there's parking on 2nd street, and you walk through Eisenhower park/playgrounds and across a tiny cute bridge. These are the nicest doors I've seen at any dog park! And there's 2-3 for each side :). There's a good crowd evening time, but when I went at 11:30am on a Tuesday, it was completely empty but eventually a few dogs came by to play w my pup! So she was overall happy. There's one doggy bag station and fountain on the large dog side for convenience. Even the playgrounds are nicer, w a nice packed sand/dirt running path around them. read more

I rarely frequent this part of the city, so was not very familiar with the location of the park. It's pretty much located around a lot of houses and near an underpass; lots of street parking, and gates that seem to carefully close behind you so your dog won't run out onto the street without you. It's quite ideal if you want your dog to get some exercise and you want some fresh air as well. Since there are gates and fences to enclose your dogs, you don't have to worry about them taking off on you! There are two sections to the dog park (as well as a whole jungle gym area for kids in another section) where one is for smaller dogs that require the dogs to be leashed and an unleashed section for the larger dogs. My smaller section has more hills and benches, while the unleashed section has a big area for the dogs to run and catch balls and toys. There is a water fountain and there were two plastic bins that I ended up cleaning and filling with fresh water for all of the dogs. There aren't any dog poop bags, but there are shovels for you to ... carry the poop to the trashcan? And a few scattered benches for people to sit on. Overall I think this is a pretty nice dog park. It's not the nicest, but the area for the dogs to run around and exercise in while still being fenced in is really big. You don't have to worry about them escaping or running off (although keep an eye on the gates as your dog might slip through!); there are lots of trees which enclose one end of the park that isn't gated in. I came on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy. There were maybe about 6 other dogs in the unleashed section, but people come and go. The park closes at dusk .. and there are people who don't clean up their dog's mess so watch where you step. I unfortunately stepped in dog poop and ... was wearing sandals. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO THIS PARK!!!!! The same pit bull that the other reviewer was attacked by tried to attack my small dog today. We weren't even inside the dog park yet and I was walking my dog ON A LEASH and this pit bull came after us. I had to block the attack with my body to keep the dog from taking a bite out of my dog. Only after screaming several times did the owner come over to pull the dog off us. I called the police and animal control and the police only gave him a warning!! I don't ever want to go back because of him and his dog and he got to stay as long as he "promised" to keep his dog on a leash. It's ridiculous! This same dog is often in the small dog area and has gotten away from the owner on more then one occasion. OWNERS BEWARE!!! You will get no help from the police. My little dog (and I) are traumatized. read more

A unique, clean dog park situated under a freeway overpass... While I wouldn't take the most sensitive nervous-nelly type pup here (because of the loud noise from the freeway and busy street), it was fun to sniff around in all the nooks and crannies and investigate the many trees and plants. For being such a bright warm Thursday afternoon, sadly there were not as many dogs around as one would think. So I am doing my part to advertise this seemingly underutilized good sized patch of grass and odd cement/dirt area off leash dog playground. There wasn't a spare tennis ball in sight, but luckily I brought my own toy to play with. Too bad I had to share it with the two other bored dogs that were there. Oh, well. At least I didn't have to share the one and only little water dish available. I guess the other dogs couldn't work up a thirst since there was only the one ball to play with... The small dog area was completely empty all the while we were visiting the big dog area. It too was an odd mix of cement and grass. Jenny L.'s directions are helpful. It is a so-so dog park as compare to the one in Pasadena. The people that comes here is okey and friendly. But I will say that the hardcore dog lovers are all going to Pasadena dog park instead. This dog park is very quiet. A lot of time, you barely see more than 2 dogs in it. A little bit boring for my dog. And it is dirtier than the one is Pasadena. Ppl just don't clean up after their dog!!! But on the plus side, they got large shading area and have separated the big and small dog too. read more

I've only been to this dog park on major holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years.. this is because I take Layla home with me and there's no room for her to run around in Arcadia.. so I looked up a dog park a couple years ago and never failed to have a good time with her here. It may be due to the fact that I go on holidays and most people are at home with their families but it was always pretty empty. The other patrons that did show up were quite friendly and did give me warning about the rottweiler and owner that may show up and cause problems. Luckily I didn't have an issue with them. It's very clean for a dog park, there are a few benches right in the middle of the park so you can watch your pup at all times. There is just one muddy corner where the water faucets are that can get a bit messy.. but hey it's all in a doggy day of fun read more

This review is based on 3.5 stars. I have been to this dog park a few times now with my cocker spaniel and although it's on the smaller side of dog parks, it is one of the closest around this area. Whenever we come, I always manage to find parking either along the curb of the park or in the residental streets. This dog park is in the back of the park, you cross a little brown wooden bridge to get over to the dog park. This park is split up into 2 sides, (divided by a fence) the big dog area and the smaller dog area. I am always in the smaller dog area (cocker spaniel's are on the small side of the medium dog category don't you know?) This place is nicely kept and there is plenty of grass, trees and bushes for my dog to mark his terriroty. So far we have only had encounters with nice dogs and friendly dog owners. People here generally pick up after their dogs (but always check before you get into your car, wouldn't want to have the smell to linger weeks after from your trip). In case you forget a bag, there are bags you can use and there is also a shovel you can use and a nice silver trash can to dump it in. There is no light around the park so if you come after sunset, it can get pretty dark here rather quickly. Generally when we have been here in the late afternoon (3-4 pm or so) there are some people I recognize from the last time I've been here, (and we don't come too often because my dog is a pretty shy dog) so I guess the regulars. They are nice and friendly and always are up for small talk about whatever and all things dog related. I'll keep coming here from time to time when I think it would be best to let me dog run around and perhaps if he needs a change of scenery. (Sorry for just 3.5 stars but the dog parks I used to go to in Long Beach and Huntington Beach were bigger, shady, most had adequate lighting for after work people and some parks had a few more things in the park for your dog to run and jump on line tree trunks, tubes, ramps, etc... my dog isn't super social so he needs more stimulation) read more

Brought the puppy that I was puppy-sitting here during the afternoon. There was no one on the large dog side so we stayed there for a bit. The puppy had fun running around a bit but I think he was disappointed that there wasn't more grass. We hopped to the other side to meet a few other dogs even though he was a little bit afraid of them. Overall he had a good time and was pretty tired once we got back home and knocked out for a few hours. The dog park a squeezed in at the back of the regular park between a freeway over pass & a wash. You have to cut through the regular park, cross a bridge, & walk along the wash to get to the entrance. The big dog side is small, shady with lots of mature trees, some grass, & a concrete walkway cutting it right in half. The shade is nice but all the trees keep the ground damp & muddy & make playing frisbee or fetch pretty difficult. There are two water bowls & no spare balls. Decent park for an older or less active dogs but not enough room to run around for more energetic dogs. Street parking is readily available on second street & yeah there's lots of dog poop but it's a dog park so it's par for the course. We'll probably just stick to alice frost park in pasadena. read more

This park is a great place to take your doggies. It's clean, it's quiet and all the dog owners that I met were really friendly. I had taken my Beagle on a Saturday afternoon, the weather wasn't all that great, but suprisingly there were quite a few dogs in the small dog section than the large dog. I came on a Tuesday & was told that the people in this location do not like the people that come from the Pasadena location. That was incredibly unwelcoming and rude. The park itself is very cute and I have to say Clean. There are clean benches and a few tables as well. I loved the trees which allowed for some nice shade. Strange happenings at the Arcadia small dog side today on Cesar Chavez Day March 25th 2019. A nice black lab 50lb on the little dog side. the owner won't go to the large dog side though there no dogs on that side. Is black lab is very friendly but a little dog one of the little dogs was scared. What did it for me was when the lab owner got some dog poo on his shoe and proceeds 2 scrape it off on the bench people sit on including the back of the bench. Very strange. I decided to check it out today after reading it was recently renovated and re-opened. It was a late Sunday afternoon and not too busy. I drove up on Colorado and it looked to be street parking only. One entrance to the large dog park was right on the side walk. There was also signage for a small dog park a little further into the park. We went to the large dog park only. It closes at 8:30pm, so we had about 40 min to enjoy. The park is right next to the freeway so the noise from the cars may bother some. I did not mind it too much. The size was decent, about half as big as Alice's dog park in Pasadena. There was a green grass area in the middle with a paved walkway towards the back of the park. Along the sides there were dirt patches that seemed intentionally left that way. There is some seating and it looked like one bench had an umbrella. My dog and I enjoyed this dog park since it's closer to us and it's bigger than the Sierra Madre dog park. read more

I come here usually on Tuesdays when Pasadena dog park is closed. I used to come to this one often but my dogs would get too dirty playing around here, but now that it has rained a lot the grass grew back nicely. Some dog owners that come here does not want their dog to walk a feet away from them and doesn't let their dog play with other dogs which I don't understand why they come in the first place... I'm sorry Arcadia Dog Park. I use to come here years ago and have since left to the Pasadena Off-Leash Dog Park. Arcadia Dog Park... You would think for such a beautiful city, their dog park would be equally as beautiful. Wrong. There is poop everywhere and sometimes there are way too many dogs in there and sometimes we have certain individuals who come in and really do not "respect" the place, people, or our pets. To some of those *lazy* pet owners that come here.. Respect yourself & your pup! CLEAN UP after yourselves! It's disgusting to walk into a dog park where as soon as you step into the gates, the smell of fermented dog poop is slithering up into your nose. I hope Arcadia cleans this park up or manages to somehow move it to a larger lot somewhere. There simply isn't enough space and there aren't enough people who *care* to take care of this location. DIRECTIONS: The Einsenhower Dog Park is located on the corner of Second and Colorado, in Arcadia. Take the 210 Freeway to Arcadia, exit at Santa Anita Avenue and proceed south on Santa Anita. At Colorado Blvd (there is an In N Out on the corner) turn left (east) and continue to Second Street. Eisenhower park is located on the corner of Second and Colorado. PARK: mostly grassy areas, a few benches along with picnic tables (although I highly doubt you'd want to bring anything to eat there because 1. the dogs will hound you, 2. I personally cannot eat when dogs are pooping near me and 3. people might hound you too), public, sectioned off area for small dogs, and running water. Our dog, Katsu has a lot of fun chasing and playing with the dogs at the park. Plenty of room to throw tennis balls, sticks, frisbees. Most of the owners are amicable and respectful. It's a nice park off the 210 if you're local. BEWARE: There is a certain dog owner who does not pick up her dog's poo and does not check her dog when he's being too aggressive. She's usually there in skin tight jeans, a raggedy shawl, oversized sunglasses, her cell phone and a cup of cold coffee. read more

It's a fairly small dog park, and a bit tore up. The reviews that say this place has a lot of poop on the ground are correct. You need to put on your special dog park shoes here. There are people that drink here. Some hide it, others don't. If that bothers you, then this place isn't for you. But the drinkers don't really bother anyone, they just quietly stick to themselves. My biggest problem is the lack of dogs, or if there are any they are older, and don't want to play. Sometimes I leave here with a dog that isn't tired. I'm not sure I've ever seen a dog fight here, so that's a plus. Some rough play, but that's about it. So it's pretty safe. Unlike Pasadena, where I think I saw a dog fight every time I was there. When enough dogs show up though this place can be great. Just don't step on the grass. And avoid the old, rather large, lady with the poodle. Very grouchy. Oh and the parking here sucks! The only parking is way on the other side of the park. Your only real option is the street. If you've got a dog like mine that can't wait to get to the park, it's a long walk. read more

It's been decades since I owned a dog. I honestly never thought I'd have another one of those destructive little poop machines under my roof, but then Girlfriend had to go and bring home Merry the Wonder Beagle. I resisted with all the resolve I could muster, but that pooch finally melted my cold, cold heart with those big ol' puppy eyes. Dammit! So, now that I'm a fanatical dog owner, I find myself in the dog park, of all places. I never knew this little park existed, constructed halfway under a freeway overpass on the corner of Colorado and 2nd Street. It's clean and very well-maintained. There's plenty of room for Merry to frolic and play. I like that they have two sections: one for big dogs and another for small pups like Merr-Bear. (God, help me, I actually refer to the dog by nickname.) There are double gates to prevent escapes and water fountains for the dogs. The other owners seemed capable of controlling their dogs and cleaned up after them when I was there. There were still a lot of flies, but that's what I'd expect at a dog park. I was nervous about letting my pup run around with strange mongrels of dubious origin, but she had a blast. Hey, I'm no dummy--I had a canister of pepper spray in my pocket just in case. I'm not letting some pitbull take a chunk out of my precious, little Merry! I can't wait until winter, so I can take Merry to the park one of those adorable dog sweaters... joking... or am I? UPDATE: Just got back from the dog park. Note to the owner of the Rottweiler: Rotties are not SMALL dogs. The sign says under 25 pounds. Your dog's HEAD weighs 25 pounds. Yeah, he was friendly enough, but my pooch was getting the worst of his body slams. Jeez! read more
