Walking around Portland we noticed this store for what felt like the first time despite being in this area many times previously. While it looks as though they offer massages and yoga we only browsed the shop aspect. They are a very welcoming and accepting space. They had a good variety with a large majority of it being crystals, gemstones, and minerals. All of them were well labeled and described them well too. A well curated store and the staff were very friendly. Was worth our time visiting. read more

I go here often. So thankful to have found them soon after moving to Portland. I have taken courses & done events (Reiki, Tarot, Yoga Nidra, Sound Bath), taken yoga classes (deep stretch & massage with Mel on Saturdays, yin yoga & reiki with Kristine on Wednesdays) that have been wonderful, powerful and challenging experiences, had readings with Anya & Niko that were informative, emotional and empowering, I have had several massages/bodywork with Mel & Circe. I have had energy work with Mel & Kristine. All have been positive, if not magical, transformative experiences. I have bought many crystals, tarot cards, and other cool items in the shop. I love supporting small, locally owned stores, and this one is special. Oh, hello pretty crystals. Oh, hello boho-inspired jewelry. Oh, hello locally made botanicals. I don't know why I've never been here before; I've been following them for years on social media, always mesmerized at their collection of healing natural items. I know they also do yoga and massage and other workshops, but I've only stopped in for a super cool acorn necklace for a gift for someone (though I do wish they came in assorted chain lengths; I ended up buying a longer chain so it would hang lower) and an iridescent sticker that says "Grateful As F*ck" which IDKW entertains me endlessly. Found some crystals here I hadn't seen at other similar shops nearby, so am excited to explore more! read more

I came here for shopping one of the last times I was in Portland. I found the most beautiful pair of quartz crystal earrings. They are really nice quality. I found they are slightly too heavy to wear everyday, but where I have found them really helpful is I wear them when Im doing meditations or clearing my space or intention setting. I have LOVED how functional they turned out to be! The space of Arcana is really inviting and inspiring. I highly recommend it here. I am not from Portland, but love to visit! The people who work seemed to be really aware of the whats going on in the area. This place has sadly gone downhill and it shows. I used to come once a month for massage and I was sadly surprised after not having been in for a year. Rude desk staff more interested in their phones than answering questions, both of the massage therapists I used to see have moved on and I understand why. It's a shame, this place used to be so cool and a little sanctuary- don't waste your time. Dirty tiny yoga room, don't get me started on the bathroom. I'm very surprised and extremely disappointed. Updated review-randomly logged into my yelp account a month later and the owner messaged me privately to tell me she looked for me online and couldn't find me in the system and said I'd never been in the store. Arcana is a store full of alternative healing therapies, local jewelry, art work, and various rooms for massages, tarot card readings, astrology, aura readings, etc. This is a store for someone else to review because most of this stuff really doesn't resonate with me. But the woman working at Arcana was very pleasant, the store was bright and attractive, and I wanted to see the place listed because some people are into this. Arcana is an awesome shop and yoga center. The teachers are highly qualified and at the same time down to earth. Classes are carefully constructed, affordable, and leave you feeling at ease. I would recommend trying as many classes as you can - I've gone to almost all of them and done the yoga teacher training. It was deeply life changing. Even if you're in town briefly, the community is welcoming and fun - at my very first time there I knew I wanted to come back. Had my first yoga class in their studio with an amazing yoga instructor named Holly. She was very calm, relaxing, and smoothly brought the class through a gentle opening heart routine. If there were more advanced variations of a position she did great at walking the students through those while reassuring the beginners in the class it was okay to honor where you were within the practice and to listen to the body. I felt very in-tune with my body after her class and looking forward to many more. The store front part of Arcana is warm, inviting, and has lots of charm. They offer a wise spread of crystals, herbs, books, and other holistic health goods. The prices were comparable and the staff was friendly and able to answer any questions. I popped into this store the other day. I was just wandering and not anticipating this to be a store for me. However, it really is a great place. I have even since returned to this place, only days after my first visit. First off, I was greeted so warmly by two ladies working there. I felt at ease exploring the store. But they gave me space to take it all. When I came upon a few items I had questions on, the lady working at the register was ready to help me. There are so many lovely gems and necklaces here. I actually ended up buying several wonderful items to be given as gifts. There is a great selection of teas and the staff is able to easily help guide on which one to get. The prices are really very reasonable! I believe they do readings and acupuncture too. Though I am not very familiar with how that all works. I do know is they carry many items that can make unique and thoughtful gifts. I purchased a cherry kava jubilee tincture that really seems to help with headaches. Arcana is a beautiful little shop downtown Portland that offers beautiful crystals, jewelry, essential oils, and great gifts. They also offer reiki, massage, yoga, readings, and other services. I make a stop in here every year for the holidays and my mom has loved every gift I've gotten her here. I just stopped in the other day to buy the matching necklace to a pair of earrings I bought her last Christmas. The prices are very fair for such beautiful jewelry! Last Christmas they had adorable tiny gold pinecone necklaces, but I didn't see them this year. I've still got my fingers crossed that she will make some more int he future! I had a reading with their resident clairvoyant that left me less than satisfied. I spent an hour sitting in a room with a woman I feel certain is a total fraud, whipping her hands in the air as if turning the pages of a book, as she explained the law of attraction to me (yeah, I watched that Oprah episode too, honey) and made reading recommendations - all for the low, low price of $100+. I'm embarrassed that I booked the appointment. When I listened to my recording of my session, I was just appalled that someone actually charges for this. What a joke. I do want to frame my review: this is a beautiful space, has a charming shop and the woman that greeted me when I arrived was exceptionally warm and considerate. My review is specifically of the practitioner that I saw, who I could not recommend under any circumstances. read more

I came to Arcana after my partner gave me a gift certificate for community acupuncture. I am still going, once a week, every week. Kate is one of the friendliest people I have ever encountered in a store. There is some really beautiful jewelry and crystals, but my favorite part so far has been the community acupuncture sessions from David. I have also been for a longer, massage/acupuncture session which was excellent. The rooms are really nice and I always leave with a huge smile on my face. read more

I went into this place because I saw "yoga" in the window and wanted to see what that was about. It turns out that they have a person who comes in and does therapeutic yoga mixed with Reiki one-on-ones in a body work room they have in the back. I ended up getting into a long conversation with the woman working the store about yoga. Very pleasant. The atmosphere of the store is calm. It was relaxing to peruse their goods, which consist of different herbs and woods for burning, jewelry, special rock, oils and herbal remedies, books, and other assorted goods of that nature. The prices were surprisingly low for the jewelry considering how nice it looked. Besides the yoga, Arcana also offers services including meditation classes, acupuncture, and psychc-type readings. Depending on your interests, Arcana could either be a nice place to hop into while you're out exploring, or even worth a special trip. I certainly enjoyed my visit there. read more

My wife and I got back to back (no pun intended) massages from the same therapist. My wife loved her 60 minutes. My 90 minute was just ok. I have chronic low back pain which is partly due to tight glutes etc. How can you get a 90 minute massage and not get touched below the waist? I kinda sensed her mind was elsewhere and she was just mailing it in. Also, there was some kind of class going on outside the room with several women who would frequently break out in laughter....couldn't concentrate or relax. read more

I received a massage from Hailey last week, and it was nothing short of magical. I've been coming to Arcana for years for energy work, massage, and unique gifts, and have never been disappointed. I'm a massage therapist myself and have had lots and lots of massages, and this last one really stood out. I went in for a 90 minute appointment with really distracting back and neck tension, left feeling a lot better, and woke up the next day with zero pain. Hailey has a really unique style and a warm, friendly vibe. She gave me some really spectactular deep tissue work but worked up to it gradually, and I almost fell asleep a couple of times. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back to see her. read more

love this business!!! i asked my mom to stop in to Arcana on a trip of hers to pick some things up for me. i live in northern maine so finding crystals,tarot cards,sage exc is really not a option up here. i spoke with kate on the phone and she was super nice and really eager to help. among all the awesome things i got that day was a beautiful necklace. about a week after i had it my daughter reached up and broke the chain. my mother called kate and asked if she'd be willing to send a chain up. she graciously worked with us and even sent a few sage sticks as well. what a great business with wonderful souls and excellent customer service!!! i would highly recommend stopping in. read more
