Such a fun psychic/tarot-card themed speakeasy! Drinks were alright, nothing special. Love the unique and themed names of the drinks though. All drinks come with a tarot card corresponding to the drink. Some had lights in the cup that made the drink glow. Didn't try any food. There's also spin the wheel for a random drink. Lovely decor, dark lit mysterious room. Would definition come back just for the vibes. Server was lovely too!

I first visited Arcana in January. I loved all the food and drinks I tried so I knew I had to come back. Since January they changed chefs and have a new food menu now. We ordered the steak and requested it medium rare and it came out closer to medium well. The steak also came with some potato latkas which were just oily sponges with little to no flavor. I think its cute that the food comes out on a oujia board but I wish something like a steak came out on an entree sized plate. The tiny dishes that the food comes in makes it so that theres no room to even use a knife. On top of that they also changed the free tarot card designs. The new tarot designs are very obviously ai generated. The new designs remove so much meaning and interpretation from the original designs they had. In addition to that they used to include free coasters here to take home which they got rid of. The drinks were still really good so I think this place is worth a visit at least just for the cocktails. All the workers here were very kind in answering our questions about the drinks and the service was great. I would also really rather have no free tarot card with my drink than have one that was ai generated.

I love a themed bar/restaurant/whatever that commits fully to the bit, and boy does Arcana commit. The decor, the music, the extremely dim lighting; it's all perfectly on theme. We grabbed a couple of seats at the bar directly under the gigantic ouija board (great), and ordered some admittedly pricey drinks. They were great! I had the Devil, which was right up my alley. I looove a spicy drink, and this one was particularly smooth. Plus, it came with a glowing red light, a pentagram sprayed on top, and in a smoke-filled cloche. What can I say, I'm a gal who loves a bit of drama. My husband had one of the special drinks (the Virgo) and said it was also spectacular. We, of course, got a fortune from Zoltar before heading out.

Went here on a Tuesday night with a group of 6 and I'm very glad that I got a reservation because the place was packed for a Tuesday night! I'm not surprised though because it was such a fun experience. It's essentially a "speakeasy" which is a pet psychic on the outside. They had so many drink options, each one was super unique. Some of their drinks also came with a tarot card which was a pretty cool touch! One of their special drinks was called "wheel of fortune" which is essentially the wheel chooses your drink for you - the first time you spin it tells your spirit and the second your chaser and the rest is in the hands of the bartnders. My sister took that option was very impressed with the drink! My favourite drink was there Cthulhu cocktail. For food we got their truffle frites which were truffle fries - they were soooo good we ordered it a second time. Their lunar citrus prawns was not that good though, the prawns did not soak in the flavours that much. The last thing that I loved was "Zoltar" their psychic machine that predicted your future lol. A very fun experience and I will def be back!!

Arcana Spirit Lounge is one of the most interesting bars I have been to in Vancouver. It is tucked away behind a storefront that looks like a pet psychic, which makes the entrance fun and unassuming. Inside, the atmosphere is spooky and gothic with really striking decor that fits the theme perfectly. I had the warm olives along with The Temperance and The Judgement. Both cocktails were incredible and really well made. The menu is on the pricier side, but the experience and ambience feel worth it. It was pretty crowded when I went, probably because it was close to Halloween, but the service was still good and the staff were attentive. A very memorable spot for anyone who enjoys creative drinks and a dramatic atmosphere.

First time coming here and enjoyed the experience , we got a table straight away on a Saturday evening. Our server was friendly and drinks came out quickly. Drink menu is unique and so many options. I tried the Pride (Leo) this was flavourful and sweet. Atmosphere is dark and moody some of the music switched and didn't seem very fitting for the vibe but still good. We did not try food but will be back.

My friend brought me to this speakeasy with a pet psychic theme. The decor is very fun service was absolutely great and all servers were so friendly the cocktail menu was so fun and some of them have visual effects too!! too bad we arrived after 10pm and the kitchen was closed as we were planning to try some of their hot menu items. But we settled for the olives on the all day menu. The olives came warm and have a good balance of flavors. Will be interested to visit again for other food items and fun drinks

Don't be deceived by the pet psychic sign because beneath it lies this witchy speakeasy. Vancouver's only zoltar machine is also coincidently placed inside. There's an ouija board engraved on every table and a giant one atop the bar spelling out drink names! I really loved the drinks, they each came with a fiery entertainment element which made it feel like we were table side dining. You also get little keepsakes such as tarot cards with certain drinks. The mini sandwiches and sliders were great as well. I love that the menu items come with a creative kick to all fit the theme. The pear panna cotta, though, not as festive, absolutely blew me away. Next time I'm ordering two of those! This is a fun spot to check out if you're craving a unique night out and cocktails that are far from typical. It's a little spooky, but all in good fun!

Price/quality (4/4): The quality is very good for the price. The food is pretty tasty and not too expensive, while the drinks are a lot more interesting. Some of them can be quite unique in both flavour and texture. Many drinks also come with a free tarot card. Service (1/1): Service is friendly and mostly effective, though this place can get very busy. Would I come here again: Yes

Never ever ever again imo - HH drink comes

Ambiance: obsessed. very witchcrafty if that's even the right term. Love it Service: slow at first but then very attentive. It was all good Drinks 1. Baba Yaga - traditional absinthe ceremony with lighting the sugar on fire. I've had absinthe before so knew what to expect. Strong, liked it 2. the emperor - delicious. Reminds me of an old fashion 3. The fool - HH drink. Hated it imo. Never ever ever again. Just not for me Each drink comes with a card with the name and some character on it. Love it. Table is a ouija board and the coasters are ouija board planchette. So cool I will absolutely be back here for the vibes and drinks

    Secret hidden bar~ (pet psychic)

Interesting secret hidden occult themed "spirit" bar on Abbott in Gastown. This place is disguised as a pet psychic place. I must say I was secretly hoping they had some fortune telling cat inside. Parking is in front (metered spots). The inside is pretty dark, and has plenty of occult type decorations. The tables look like ouija boards, and the inside almost feels like an old mansion. Staff are friendly. Drinks here are good, but crazy overpriced. My buddy ordered a cocktail and it was served with a large glowing ice cube, which was actually pretty and cool I must say. Looks like they freeze these LED lights inside ice, then activate them via remote control when serving them. The staff also hand out a corresponding tarot card matching the name of each cocktail. I'm guessing the idea is to eventually collect a full set of cards, at great expense. They do have a food menu here too, though I didn't try. They also hand out custom fortune cookies. My fortune made no sense. It asked me if I would like to taste some butter or a dress. Hmm. This place would be good for making an impression, but it's way too pricy for casual drinks, which was what I was looking for.

Food was excellent. All very high quality and the drinks! The cocktails were all incredibly themed and delicious. The service was well done and the presentation fun. The place is just spectacular with its theme of magic and witchcraft. Will definitely go again.

Really cute themed hidden bar! We came in on a Friday night and there was no wait even though it was busy inside, which was great. I had the server pick my cocktail for me and it did not disappoint. I like this place, but can't justify coming back anytime soon for those prices

We came here for a Winnie the Pooh Afternoon Tea. Oh my goodness...it far exceeded my expectations!…read moreHats off to the kitchen staff for coming up with such a creative and whimsical afternoon tea. First thing that caught my eye was the cover of the afternoon tea menu. It was red with a picture of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin printed upon it in a shiny gold colour. When flipped over, it had the menu for the afternoon tea printed upon it. I was super impressed that they even had a separate menu printed for Vegetarians. (I opted for a Vegetarian menu). There was a cute little ceramic jar that was shaped like a Honey pot, and it had sugar cubes in it! Then there was this booklet that was pages long, and divided into Chapters. It was basically the menu again, but in the form of a small book. Each Chapter of the book described different foods from the afternoon tea. The last chapter listed all the different tea flavors one could choose. When we sat down and read this menu, I heard more than one person at the table say that they wanted to take this menu home. Guess what? For the price of $25, one could take this menu home as a memento of this extraordinary afternoon tea? Maybe I'm a bit of a sucker, but how often does one get to go to an afternoon tea as special as this? And I've always been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh. So I coughed up the $25 and brought one of these menus home with us! Food was sooo good. I loved how warm the scone was when I cut it open. This was one of my favourite items. The sandwiches were amongst my favourites as well. As phenomenal as the experience was, I do think there are a few things which could have improved the experience. For one, a bit more service would have been appreciated. I had to wave my hand in the air to get our server's attention so that I could ask her to refill our tea pots with more hot water. Would have been nice if she'd just come around a bit more often and offered to top it up for us. Tea cozies on our tea pots might have been another improvement. A lot of my tea cooled down by the time I got to it. I like my tea hot but I didn't get in very many cups of hot tea as there was a lot of food to eat and by the time I was ready to pour myself some tea to wash down my food, the tea was...not so hot anymore. Oh, and while most of the food was appropriately sized, there was this one chocolate cookie sandwich that was really gigantic and suggested to be eaten last. We were so full already from all the other foods in the afternoon tea, and then to squeeze that giant cookie sandwich in...right at the end? A smaller and daintier cookie sandwich would have been preferred. It was overall a truly phenomenal experience. Yes, I do think it could have been slightly better, but I do emphasize the word "slightly". The points lost were so minor...I would still highly recommend this afternoon tea to anyone. It was well worth the money. It's offered every weekend for now but not sure how long they'll keep this around so if you're interested in a Winnie the Pooh themed afternoon tea, I'd make a reservation for it ASAP!

The setting is cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Staff was lovely and we were not rushed. Unfortunately they require full payment at the time of booking including a tip % automatically applied. I find this quite distasteful. It is one thing to pay a deposit to secure our spot ....but asking for the tip for a service yet to be provided is terrible. My friend really wanted to go and therefore I agreed to it this one time but I would never do it again.
