The owners, Mike and Nancy, have been innkeepers for a long time and go of their way to make guests happy. While you are there, stop across the street to Old Ingram Loop, a historic shopping area filled with unique galleries and shops. Must sees are Southwestern Elegance and Clint Orms Silversmith. Less than a mile away is the Hill Country Arts Foundation, where you can visit their gallery or catch an outside play in the summer or inside in the winter. Recently moved to their grounds are the replicas of Stonehenge and Easter Island. Bring your cameras!

I came in to dine with fuve of my friends to show appreciation for their unselfish charity in my community ... When we arrived , around 12:30, there was a small glob of prime rib on the buffet ... the chef recognized this and brought out some more prime rib and made the comment " I would have prepared more if I knew I was going to have this many people ... what he served me on side was dried up whet leather ... the other side was a bloody pulp ... I did not fuss because I did not want to upset my guest ... but they will not have to worry about me returning after that dining experience

We spent a couple of months at the Carlton Club Inn while we were waiting to move into a new home…read more The apartments are furnished with everything you need, they are immaculate, and the landscaping of the grounds is lush and beautiful. What makes this place extra special is the manager. Jamy is the gracious and hard-working. She clearly takes pride in taking great care of both the Inn and the guests. We had a couple of scheduling problems and Jamy was willing to work with us, for which we were very appreciative. The Carlton Club Inn is located only a few hundred yards from the Guadalupe River and about 1/4 mile from the 1011 Bistro. The beds were very comfortable, the linens were high quality, and the bedroom curtains were heavy and lined so they kept light out of the bedroom very well. There is plenty of off-street parking. The Carlton Club Inn was a real Godsend during a time when we were between homes. We could not recommend it more highly and would happily return to stay there again. We recently stayed at Yogi Bear Campground and overall had a good experience, with a few areas that…read morecould use improvement. The campground itself is clean, and the sites are spacious with plenty of shade, which made our stay comfortable. The pool area is excellent, and the food offerings were surprisingly good. One area that was disappointing was the miniature golf course. It appears it has not been maintained regularly. There were numerous rocks and debris on the greens, several holes were filled with golf balls, and some of the clubs were broken. With proper upkeep, this could be a much more enjoyable attraction. The activity center staff were another weak point. Many of the younger employees seemed disengaged and lacked enthusiasm for the activities. When we asked questions, we were often met with "I don't know" responses, which was frustrating. Better training and more involvement from staff would greatly improve the guest experience. The bathhouses could also benefit from more frequent cleaning and maintenance. Since we stayed in our travel trailer, this was not a major issue for us, but it may be for tent campers or guests relying on campground facilities. One of the main reasons we chose this campground was because we were told we would be able to tube directly down the Guadalupe River from the property. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the river was stagnant due to a lack of rainfall, making tubing impossible. We understand that river conditions are beyond the campground's control, but it would have been helpful to receive more accurate and current information before booking. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the clean campsites, shaded areas, pool, and food. With better maintenance of the mini golf course, improved staff training, and more up-to-date information about river conditions, this campground could provide an even better experience.

Our visit was clouded, however, by a very poor customer service experience that could have been handled SO much better. We had two separate interactions with Jennifer in the main office, and both were quite negative. The first time, she gave us the wrong golf cart. We had prepaid (in full) for a 6 person cart, and were given a 4 person cart. It seemed as though she was trying to sneak it by us, hoping we didn't recall what we had paid for - and the price difference is significant. It would have been better handled to be up front with the error. My husband returned to office noting the error, and we were offered camp credit, but apparently there are so many restrictions on its use, and no other employees (0 out of 3 that we asked) actually knew how to use or apply any form of credit, that it was essentially worthless. At the end of the trip, I returned to the office with my three children to return keys and inquire if anything else was needed from us to check out. Unfortunately, Jennifer was again working the desk. I mentioned where I had left the golf cart (parked neatly in the line of golf carts outside), and Jennifer rudely mentioned that they actually belonged across the street. She then said in a very snippy manner that she would move it or that I could. I replied that I didn't mind moving it, and wanted to do what I was supposed to. I told her that the signage was a bit confusing. There is signage on both sides of the street indicating golf cart return, but two trucks were parked in front of the "correct" return, and I never saw the other signage . What was appalling, however, was that Jennifer thought it appropriate to storm outside with me - in front of my young children, mind you - gesture at the signage, and state sarcastically that the signage was pretty clear. To a mother. In front of her children. This is very, very poor behavior, and not the type of representation that a business would want representing them. In the hospitality industry, hospitality is expected - particularly from your first and last impression. Unfortunately, sarcasm and deceit are what was served in this case.

I finally unplugged it, the next morning there was a small flood on the floor due to the ice in the refrigerator melting. The next surprise was when I got home was discovering the hotel charged me more for the room that the reservation I made with Expedia. I called Expedia, they said there was nothing they could do, it was up to the hotel to agree to refund the difference. The hotel would not agree, said I was quoted the wrong price from Expedia. So I called my credit card and disputed the bill, sending them copies of the quote and the invoice I received from the hotel. They issued a temporary credit to my account, about 3 weeks later I got a letter saying the credit was permanent, so I guess the hotel agreed to refund the difference.

Has a restaurant, 2 huge pools, spa and a really nice pub with huge bar and lots of tables and dance floor. The room was a little musty but large shotgun style with doors on the parking lot and the courtyard. Courtyard side has a small table and chairs to sit out. King bed, desk/chair, 2 more chairs, small refridge and microwave. Small TV with Dish. Large picture window overlooking the courtyard. The reason only 4 stars is because of the bathroom. When they remodel, and they do need to, they need to move the bathroom wall into the bedroom about 5 feet. Room would still be huge and bathroom much better. Counter top about 6 inches above my knee and sink about the size of a mixing bowl. Toilet paper holder is behind the very low toilet, not sure how anyone but a gymnast could get it. Huge door opens into the bathroom. Pocket doors maybe???? Not a handicap room because a chair or walker could not get thru the door. Maybe bathrooms were not as important back in the day. Good location and nice people working there.

There are no plugs in the bathroom, so forget about blow drying your hair, there is no coffee in the room and if there is any in the office it won't do you any good if you get up early because the office isn't open. When I turned on the heat it smelled horrible and it is extremely loud. Frankly, I cannot think of one good thing about this room.

The door to the bathroom was horribly squeaky and stuck and you couldn't close it without waking everyone up, blinds are all broken and there are no coverings on front entrance which faces the road. window sills were filled with in bugs, door handles fell off, screens on patio were torn up, there was a pillow case in the closet with blood spots in it along with a dirty shirt. The lighting situation around the houses was bizarre and often long across the room from where the lights were. Bath towels were small and you were allowed only one per guest per visit, toilet paper also limited. There needs to be a list of what you need to bring. Overall, the houses have seen better days and are not very enjoyable to sit outside from. The bridge from the property goes over the road, but it had to. The other reviews from this summer in another site are surprising. Low standards or better condition when they arrived. Will not be back.
