It's crazy to me I haven't reviewed Cappy's before. Admittedly it's been a couple years since I had…read moregone since I'm always looking for something new, but as I sat and ate today I was kicking myself. Cappy's is so delicious. I used to go very often. They're a little on the pricier side but so worth it. It's beautiful inside and outside. Staff very friendly and accommodating. I won't wait so long again to go back. My go to meal the is Howard. Scrambled eggs with crab topped with a lobster tail. So so good. Even the little bread/muffin basket they serve you before the meal is great. Lemonade is delicious. My son had pancakes and bacon and inhaled them. His mother always gets the pot roast. She wasn't disappointed. I will say although the gumbo is decent, it's not the best I've had. The roux is very dark which gives it a slight burned taste. But the flavors are there. All in all love Cappy's. I won't make the mistake of staying away so long again.

The ambiance at Cappy's was great, and we were warmly welcomed when we arrived for our reservation…read more We had a drink at the bar while waiting for our friends, and the bartenders and staff there were friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the experience changed once we were seated. Our waiter was incredibly short and came across as rude throughout the meal. When we asked for recommendations or some of his favorite menu items, his response was essentially, "I don't know what you like," rather than offering any guidance. The service somehow felt rushed even though the food itself came out slowly, and there were very few check-ins during the meal. When it came time for dessert, we asked to see a dessert menu and were simply told, "It's on the menu you have," which summed up the lack of hospitality we experienced at the table. I ordered the Mustang Chicken, and unfortunately it was very disappointing. The chicken was fatty, full of tendon, and tasted more like a frozen piece of chicken that had been dropped into a deep fryer than something I would expect from a restaurant at this price point. It's disappointing because the restaurant has a great atmosphere and our experience at the bar started off so well. Unfortunately, between the table service and the quality of the food, I would not recommend Cappy's based on this visit.

I moved to Austin about a month ago, and I've already lost count on how many times I've eaten here…read more It is SO GOOD!! I've also already brought friends and family to try it! The breakfast tacos have a flavor I've never been able to get at home. I don't know how they cook everything! The 3am is by far my favorite taco with that breakfast sausage that tastes like real meat. I've also gotten the "beef" nachos maybe three times. I'm constantly craving those. The food truck park is a cute area with lots of tables and fans. The staff is always friendly and the food comes out fast even when they're busy.

Food Good, but found it too expensive for our taste. The…read morerunny egg they had in the chilliques taco was really good. The chorizo was nothing to write about. Service The guy working the truck seemed to be high while taking our orders and making food. That must explain why tacos are $7, they were decently large and that runny age was good. It also took ages to make and get our food. I know vegan food does tend to take longer because of the care process, but this was another level. They did not call our names when the food was ready and it took ages. We even came to check on our food a few times and it was not ready. Ambiance Food truck in the middle of an empty lot. There are quite a few other trucks, but they were all pretty expensive. Bathrooms are decent onsite and there area few tables around the here you can eat. Honestly meh on the location and truck food.
