We ordered three calamari steak sandwich and the sandwiches was nothing but bread, and a very very thin layer of calamari that you can't even taste it. Also, we ordered fried artichoke, they were ok but it so breaded that you can't taste the artichoke. The only good thing was the sweet potatoes. The manager or owner wasn't wearing gloves and he was holding the bread with his hands and the cups from inside with his hands. The cups were reusable plastic and it didn't look clean for water. The food was below average. French fires were greasy. The old Archie's was much better. I guess I should've known better as when we walked in the door it was virtually empty. We had already paid for 2 hrs of metered parking because we wanted to go to a different breakfast place but as it turns out, the breakfast place we wanted to go to moved down the street a couple of blocks away with an hour and a half wait. So we were desperate and hungry. Since we have never been here before we went inside and asked about a table outside. The man said "You need to order and pay here first." Then we asked for a breakfast menu, he pointed to a sign with only a few items for breakfast. As we were looking at the menu, he says "You only have ten minutes." So of course we ordered in a rush. We ordered Fried Chicken and Waffle and The House. We also ordered two coffees and an orange juice. The food wasn't hot at all especially the Belgian waffles and fried chicken. In fact the waffles were rubbery and cold. The fried chicken didn't taste fresh...like something you get from the frozen section of your grocery store. As for the potatoes it wasn't hot either, like something you get from the grocery store. The eggs were okay. Only got one piece of bacon. They didn't give us any creamers and when we asked for creamers, we received a total of 3 little packets to share between two people. No refills on coffee and no one came by to see if we needed anything else. Did I also mentioned from the moment we walked in the door until we left, not one single staff smiled? Remember the man we asked questions? He rolled his eyes at us for asking two questions. Not a single smile came from any of the staff. You're better off eating elsewhere. As a family of three , we took a break from the aquarium and decided to get some food. It's was a Friday afternoon and no one was there except for us . My husband and I ordered two beers and split a hotdog(our baby stuck to her bottle). The guy in front was kind and talkative when pouring the beers. The wait for the food was only a few minutes (average time). The hot dog was large and cut in a spiral . The toppings came with mustard and relish, but I didn't ask for those toppings however I also could have missed it on the menu that it came with those two (I'm not sure if the menu states its toppings) . I wish the guy taking my order would have mentioned what toppings came on it and if I preferred it that way. The fries were dark and soggy ..not good. We were also given a ketchup bottle that was covered in mold on the outside . I didn't even try the ketchup due to the mold on the outside of the bottle. Overall I would not eat here again, but I might order a beer . read more

Came here for the first time and everyone was super nice and the food was super good. The person taking my order was super friendly and the people bringing the food were super friendly too. Basically, everyone is really nice here. Not to mention the atmosphere is nice too! And the food was amazing!! I got the breakfast quesadilla and it tasted amazing, 10/10. My friends ordered the breakfast burritos (with and without meat), and the chicken and waffles, and everyone thought the food was great and everyone finished their food. Visited this place from San Jose on a Monday afternoon before visiting the aquarium & it was empty! I've been coming here since 2013 whenever I am im the area & they never disappoint! When we came we ordered Calamari The Club Sandwich with Garlic Fries BLT with side salad Cheese Burger with Reg Fries & their Monterey Burger with Sweet Potato Fries Everything was delicious & properly portioned! The calamari was crunchy & came with tartar & cocktail sauce I'm a huge garlic lover & the fries satisfied my garlic crunchy needs. Love this place - so glad it's still around after all these years. Rude owner (makes you feel like you're not wanted there), terrible food, and awful service. DO NOT EAT HERE!

Everyone really needs to avoid this place at all costs. It is horrifying to see how unsanitary their kitchen is. There was a dirty mop hanging next to their stove- nearly touching it. I found a hair in my burger and felt sick after eating it. My father in law got food poisoning from eating his. It also tasted awful, like cardboard. The staff is very unfriendly. We ate here and then went to the aquarium. My sister in law is 8 months pregnant with twins and needed to use the restroom as we walked back to our hotel and a man told her that she could not use the bathroom unless she ate food from them again. She explained that she was just there eating a few hours prior and that she is high risk pregnant and really needed to quickly use the bathroom. The man was very harsh with her and told her to leave immediately. It's unbelievable that he wouldn't let a paying customer use the bathroom unless she paid for more food!! Just overall a terrible place. I would go absolutely anywhere but here. I'm baffled at how they stay in business. read more

I got the clam chowder dish here and it definitely was canned. We also got water cups and it's obvious that they haven't been washed in a while, you can see dirt or some kind of black substance inside of the cups, and it wasn't just one cup it was all of them we had 5 people. I am visiting from out of town and this is a regular place for us. The food was fantastic and made fast. I got a quesadilla and a clam chowder bowl. Our server GIANA was amazing and she definitely doesn't get enough credit for all her hard work. We had a wonderful meal here after a long day at the aquarium. We stumbled in hungry and cranky (a group of 11 of us) just because it was conveniently located to our parking spot, and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. All 12 of us really enjoyed our meals. I had the Island fish tacos, and the fish was fresh and perfectly grilled, and the mango salsa was divine. Sweet potato fries were also great.
