A charming record shop in the Pacific Grove area. We came in the day after they had a Twin Peaks night, so there were still Twin Peaks-themed decorations in the area. There was a decent selection of vinyls, with a room with a photo booth and a bunch of photo strip copies. There was also a back room with a bar, with an open patio behind it. It was pretty quiet when we went into the shop, but the staff were friendly, and we had a pleasant time.

I have been anticipating this record store's opening for quite some time and was so impressed with the space on our first (of many so far) visits. I saw a posting that they were having a DJ with a $1 cover and didn't know what to expect. Was this an 'unce unce' DJ with a dance floor or a chill DJ spinning tunes you don't have to yell over? Luckily this was a DJ playing complementing music to a Friday night catch up with some friends over a couple of well priced cocktails. There is a small seating area to one side of the shop and a good music selection on the other. The DJ played in the corner and a small bar staffed by a friendly bartender greeted you on the way in. I hear there is a music space in the back which may play music someday, but baby steps are probably in order given PG's typical apprehension with anything fun. This is an amazing place and I hope it remains a downtown fixture for a long time!

A new gem has appeared in pacific grove- prepare to be dazzled and delighted by this jack of all trades building housing not just a record store, but also a live music venue, bar, pizza pop up, lounge, and above all gathering place for friends. Always a good crowd of all ages, diverse musical talent, and strong pours.

We had an amazing time. They had a local dance troupe the night we were there and great music to dance to. Lots of locals.

Odd spot. Record store with no sign out front, a speakeasy type bar in the back. Definitely not our scene.

Very eclectic and the old fashioned was delicious, the music wasn't our vibe but I'm told it changes frequently.

When we visited it was very busy so I would definitely recommend getting a reservation. I loved the decor and seating. The staff was so pleasant and had good recommendations. We started with some wine I had a delicious moscato and my hubby had a Cabernet. For an appetizer we had the fried asparagus and it was so fresh and full of flavor. The breading was not overly powerful or too much. They had 3 dipping sauces. I really liked the basil one, hubby thought it was too powerful. The lemon aioli was also very good but I absolutely loved the basil one. The red one was just okay to me but hubby liked that one the most. For our entrees I had the Saffron Seafood Pasta and hubby had the Carbonara Pasta dish. For mine it tasted like the seafood was just delivered right out of the ocean. The shrimp was huge, the scallops were plentiful and there was a lot of squid. The papardelle pasta was out of this world. Briney and creamy in the best way. Hubby enjoyed his dish but one bite of mine and he had food envy. We both agreed that tomatoes in my dish weren't needed. But it didn't take away my enjoyment of the dish. For dessert hubby had the tiramisu and I had the San Pietro sundae, minus whip cream, a vanilla gelato with pistachios, caramel coated almonds and salted caramel. It was so delicious, creamy and incredibly tasty. We will definitely be back to try more delicious food.

The inside is very cozy feeling, with the entire wall behind the bar being basically a library of whiskey. My first visit, I had a flight of Redwood Empire bourbon & rye. It was god, RE makes great stuff. For my second visit, I had their Islay Trio flight, wanting to try something different. Best one was by far the Lagavulin 16 year (glass on the right), as it has a rich peaty flavor to it. They even allowed my dog to sit inside with me, although we were limited to the counters at the front of the lounge. Nonetheless, the staff were very accommodating to my pup and I, even bringing him water. This is a fantastic place to visit if you're a whiskey connoisseur, or just want a good cocktail. Cheers!

Mitch the owner knows things, has stories, and can point you to bottles to try. And if he's gotten to know your palate, he'll start suggesting some bottles you should buy from his shop. And if you're a little tipsy, you might buy that bottle even if you really didn't want to. But then you'll taste the bottle later and curse Mitch for being right about the damn bottle. Anyway, always a mystery visit when I'm in town.

It was for a group of seven (3 kids and 4 adults), and it was the perfect choice to make the day special. The restaurant is beautiful, and we loved the amazing views paired with lovely weather. We had to ask for directions once we arrived at the hotel, but it was worth finding. We also really appreciated the complementary valet parking for two hours with our reservation. The service was excellent -- our server was friendly, attentive, and really helped make the occasion feel memorable for the whole family. The food was tasty overall. We ordered the fish and chips, clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, and the sea bass tacos. The clam chowder was delicious and paired wonderfully with the fresh sourdough, while the sea bass tacos were flavorful and a real highlight. The fish and chips tasted great with good seasoning and fresh fish, but it arrived a bit soggy by the time it reached our table. It was still enjoyable, though I wish it had been crispier. All in all, the food was good, the views and atmosphere were fantastic, and the excellent service made it a wonderful Father's Day lunch celebration. Highly recommended!

I didn't know that Schooner's was in the Monterey Plaza Hotel, so I did have to ask some directions as to how to get downstairs to the restaurant. Arriving a bit early, we did have to wait until our reservation time to order lunch instead of breakfast, but the hotel was quite nice, and we were able to sit on a bench overlooking Monterey Bay. When we were seated, we opted outside to get a nice view, and they do have heating lamps (that were even a little bit too warm) so don't worry about the breeze. I ended up getting the fish and chips, my wife got cioppino, and the little one got some buttered pasta off the kids menu. The fish and chips was amazing...so fluffy and flaky but also had a nice crisp on the outside - probably some of the best fish n chips that I've had! Our little one also enjoyed the pasta, which was basically spaghetti noodles with butter, and we were appreciative that she was given some crayons to entertain herself. Service was excellent as well. Overall, it was a rather fancy, but very nice lunch for the three of us, and I enjoyed being a little bit away from the busy wharf/Cannery Row to enjoy ourselves before the crowded aquarium. Highly recommend!
