I called Archway Home Remodeling to come out and give me a estimate for my roof. I have an old chicago Victorian roof. It's been leaking for 10 months and I had it repaired twice but still leaking. Scott came out from Archway to give me a estimate.  He explained what was involved in a tear off and possible wood replacement. He showed me 3 different roofing systems that Archway uses.They are a preferred Owen Corning and Gaf installer and are able to extend my warranty. I felt very comfortable with Scott - His price was right in line with the other estimate, but with much better material and a better warranty. I thought it was going to be much more... I was surprised. The reviews here are from long ago and I haven't experienced any of the issues previously mentioned! They contacted me to tell me what day they were going start the job. The roof was finished and I am very pleased with the work, and how clean the workers were too . It's looks great !! I will definitely call Scott at Archway to have my windows replaced in fall. read more

Archway Remodeling, Please beware!! This company is very unprofessional and when a problem arise and it will. People won't return your emails/phone calls. I'm going to let you know, shoddy work was done to my kitchen and dining room floors. This work was done September 2018 and I starting calling a year later, regarding flooring and nothing happened. I left countless messages with Bill, telling me Maria, is available and she will call me back. I know this went on for weeks. I ended up emailing in the middle of Oct, 2019 and still...nothing. I felt since it was close to upcoming holidays' this company was busy. l started up November 2nd and stopped calling and emailing. I started Dec 6, and was told by Maria, she was working on it. Next thing, I know NOTHING has happened. Almost, a year later and still no resolution. What a shame!! If we were talking dimes and quarters I would leave it alone but the flooring was around $6,000.00. I have flooring in living room and bedrooms done by another company and is BETTER than Archway Remodeling. I went to BBB site and found 1 bad review. I see you have to go to "social media" sites to get the REAL deal. I told this company I will continue spreading their "good fortune" until this company make me whole. Archway has replaced my roof and they also did the tuck pointing on my brick house. They are always very professional, timely and completed the work beautifully. So when it was time to redo my bathroom, the obvious choice was Archway. From Bill on the phone, Maria in the design studio, Paul and Wojtek did the construction and Scott; everything was perfect and my bathroom is beautiful. I had some general ideas about how I wanted my bathroom to look like. I sat with Maria and Scott and looked through some past projects that they completed. Archway Construction just completed a remodel of my kitchen a couple of weeks ago and I am very satisfied. I dealt with Scott for the contract and he had many helpful ideas. Archway Construction is the best. After being in my home 20 years, it needs a facelift. I contacted Archway Construction for my 1st upgrade project. I emailed them on Sunday, was contacted by Bill on Monday, who was very professional. He clarified the projects I was interested in for my home (2 bathrooms, kitchen) and scheduled Scott L for my home consultation. Scott was knowledgable, fun to talk with, and provided a no-pressure discussion around multiple ideas for remodeling projects in my home. My family ultimately decided to start with the primary bathroom. Maria, helped with various bathroom fixture and hardware selections, as well as delivery options for my tub/toilet. The crew (Paul and Wo) were on time every day, worked diligently, were professional, and cleaned up daily after completing that day's work. Paul, the lead, kept me aware of progress daily, plans for the next day, pulled me in to discuss options, changes, obstacles, and ideas. He was even patient with the one hundred million "what if" questions I had. This went a long way for me and was important and appreciated. My entire experience from the beginning to the end was positive. I am still seeing & feeling the effects of this botched-up kitchen & bathroom remodeling job Archway did in my home in August 2007. The salesman who originally came to give me a quote on the job had left the company & was starting his own business when I called him back to have the work done--however, I did not feel comfortable going with him as a new start-up business so I went with Archway. They honored his written quote although the new salesman David wanted to increase the money an additional five to seven thousands more. The crew they sent in were Polish descents--Ziggy the foreman, Ziggy the main worker, and an occasional helper, name unknown. They were obviously prejudice because the NIGHTMARE began the minute Ziggy, the worker stepped foot inside my front door throughout the entire job. No matter how much I complained to the Salesman David Rosenberg, the foreman, Ziggy, the secretary Mary, & yes, the owner Scott Lieberman and NOTHING was done by any of them! The workers never laid any drop cloth/plastic down on the floor. Ziggy immediately started knocking down the bathroom wall over the uncovered floor vent where the debris traveled to the furnace/AC units which later caused the furnace to broke down. I later discovered that All of the debris from knocking down the wall was swept under the whirl pool tub which stop working, too, from the debris inside the tubes. Lieberman & another foreman was at my home answering to my complaints when the whirl pool door fell off & the foreman notice the debris & hurriedly put the door on & pushed the trash can against it to stay put. He then rushed us out of the bathroom. I went back to look at what made him rush out of there after they left. NOTHING was done about the debris swept & closed inside the whirl pool area! Ziggy caused a lot of water damage while he worked in both the kitchen & bath rooms. Water came down through the ceiling to the half bath below & damaged the "Cracked paint" designed on the windowsill & eventually the ceiling fell through where water had been standing in the ceiling. I repaired that after they finished & now I just discovered yesterday that the repaired ceiling is puffy & soft to touch where water is sitting in the ceiling again. Barely six months after archway finished their BOTCHED-UP remodeling, water was running down stairs through the ceiling while my guy was taking a shower. Water was no where, where water was not supposed to be while taking a shower; therefore, the pipes behind the tiled wall are loose & probably has no pipe fitting tape or pipe putty around it, and every now & then when he takes a shower, water runs down stairs. In order to repair my bathroom, I would literally have to pay to have my bathroom remodeled again because of the debris around & in the whirl pool tubing & the pipes behind the tile wall were not properly installed. I discovered a huge hole in the wall over the medicine cabinet, and big holes underneath the sink cabinet, & a small hole around the toilet shut-off valve, & the toilet moves and the faucet handle has come off into ones hands while turning on or off. The toilet paper holder kept collapsing & discovered one side of the holder was missing a piece from it so I attempted to remove it but only the inferior side came off & the other side is still in the wall--I can't remove it. Ziggy was damaging my new products he was installing both mine & what I had purchased through the company. He caused water damaged in the kitchen & fried my alarm system, pipes leaked underneath the kitchen sink & cause the the floor of the cabinet under the sink to rot out. He did a lot of damage around the house INTENTIONAL & his work was intentionally INFERIOR, too & he told me he had been in the business for over 30 years. It is a lot more to this remodeling nightmare; however, I don't have the time & space to tell you about it. The work is still AS-IS and has deteriorated which I knew was going to happen. To look at this inferior work everyday all these years, & see my hard earn money go to waste down the drain is heartbreaking & nerve wrecking. I DO NOT have the money to remodel my bathroom again, I am still paying for all of this inferior work. The kitchen is poorly done to which could be totally gutted out & redone! I have contacted other companies at the time; however, no one wanted to go behind them. I don't have the money to redo this work & I cannot sell my house in this condition either! I AM SCREWED! I elaborated more with the BBB & the States Attorney; however, I wanted to add this about the kitchen one of the kitchen sockets would work sporadically I hire an electrician to check it out, first it look good when he put a device to it. I told him it works sometimes he took it a loose and found the wires were barely connected that he said was done intentionally, he also said it was good that I stop using it because it would have sparked & would have caused a permanent scorch on the wall read more

Archway has been very unprofessional in our potential working relationship. I am doing a complete home remodel and asked for a quote. They came out and did the quote at which point I explained that I'd been awarded a grant in order to complete the renovations. Days later, I called to get another quote and was told that they had the first quote ready. When I asked for it they asked how much my grant was for. I replied that I didn't think it was any of their business because I didn't understand how that was relevant in getting my quote. I was then hung up on and none of my subsequent calls were answered. I never even I am extremely disappointed in their convoluted process and regret that I ever even considered doing business with them. read more

There advertising in newspapers so I gave them a call. It took me 5 phone calls to get someone to answer and say they would go out and quote my house. I need new roof gutters soffit, windows, tuckpointing, and cement repair, at least $15,000 worth of work. I have called for two weeks now trying to get the quote and I can't even get anyone to call me back. Who knows if they even went out and quoted it. Don't waste your time like I did. read more

They scheduled an estimate, then said they do not do mobile homes when they had said they did. This is a doublewide mobile home not a cheap trailer. They are horrible. Very bad experience!!! As the freezing temperatures hit Chicago, I think of last year and the predicament our building was in. The ice compromised our roof and there was severe water damage in all the units of our 3 flat. After getting an insurance estimate I went to Scott at Archway and his team not only held our hand through the process but did a great job in putting on a new roof and repairing all the interior damage. We had to wait until temperatures were above freezing to get the roof done, but Archway gave us guidance in tarping the roof for the balance of the winter so there was no further damage and in March had a new roof put on in 2 days. The interior work took more time and was done in the late spring.Paul who did all the drywall, paint and repair, matched colors and got it all done faster than we expected. There was 1 issue where the DISH in one unit was disconnected. but Archway picked up the cost of the DISH service rep that came out to re-connect ($50) What is more impressive was the follow up not only after the job but 6 months and then again 1 year later to make sure everything was OK. I think we paid WAY TOO MUCH for what was done & the quality of it. Don't get me wrong, they did a good job I guess & finished on time, but the materials & everything they used was pretty low grade. Also, I didn't like their tactics. At 1st, what got our attention was their sales guy that gave us the original quote. He seemed pretty professional & it seemed like he knew what he was doing. Unfortunately, once he was done giving us the quote, we didn't really work with him too much & worked with Scott instead. Scott convinced us to put a claim on our insurance for roof repairs, which unfortunately we did (it was our 1st home improvement repair so we were naïve), & he said he would work with the insurance company to get things taken care of, but he really didn't. Afterwards, we notified him that we had received the check, but by that time, we didn't want to continue using Archway for the roof repairs. Scott told us that if the check wasn't cashed, that the claim wouldn't go through on the insurance, which was actually an incorrect statement, because according to the insurance company, once the check has been issued, the claim has already gone through. Also, another thing that really left a bad taste in my mouth was the fact that after everything was done & we had spent quite a bit (I'm embarrassed to say how much, but lets just say it was 5 digits), they sent us a Christmas card saying they wanted to stop by to give us a gift card. We told them it was ok & they sent over some guy we had never worked with during the process with a $25 gift card in to Jewel. I was thinking "Wow, after all the mark up they made on us, all they can send us is $25?!" Then on top of that, this guy that they sent, came over with a "We love Archway Construction" sign (something like that) & was like "So are you guys happy with the work we did, if so, can I record you stating that?" He pretty much put us on the spot. At the time, my husband was pleased with the work they did (like I said, they did do a decent job), but I just felt it was WAY overpriced for the materials they used. I reluctantly agreed to be taped & really did not like how they went about doing that. In my mind I was thinking, this is probably how they get all those other people to say how they're happy with the work that was done. I'm sorry, I just didn't like that & felt like it was deceiving. So overall, yes, they did do a good job on the work, but there were a lot of other things that I didn't feel they were honest about & to me, honesty is the most important thing. I'm giving them 3 stars, but I kinda think that's being a bit generous. read more

i will never use this company again, i neede 4 glass blocks windows for my basement and 2 regular size windows for my porch, the estimator scott over charged me on the first estimate by about $2500.00, i decided not to go with the basement, glass blocks windows and only have them replace the two porch windows which were not large at all, i was charged $2000.00 dollars for 2 window replacements, an overcharge of $850.00 , they did not show up on the day they were suppose to do the repair, i lost a day at work, the estimator scott is a liar, always get 2nd estimates if you are dealing with this company, if you decide to cancle your contract with in allowed time, there fax machine does not work and your calls will not be recieved, i was in the process of closeing so i had to roll with there garbage service to lock in the deal,if i had time id take them to court, dont use this company! terrence w lee south holland ill. read more

Would never use them again. Shouldn't have used them a second time. The first project as a porch....the railing fell off after two weeks of use. Stupid customer that I am, used them again for window project. They don't know porches and know less about windows. There were many hidden costs for the windows. They didn't know the building codes and included glass that didn't meet code. Getting glass that met code cost more...one of many surprises. They called asking for payment ...stating windows were installed. But the windows weren't. They were suppose to install them. They called a second time demanding payment.....but the windows weren't installed. Building inspector unable to pass windows as stickers removed showing glass used.... They threatened legal action because payment withheld until building inspector approved windows. Overall a disaster.....bad business practices.....stay away from Archway. read more

Archway came out to deliver and install windows. The process of chosing the type of windows we were looking for was a bit difficult since we live in suburbs and they are located in Chicago. Therefore, the samples (actual windows) had to be brought out. It was very nice of the sales person to bring them, but it was a bit overwhelming. At the end of the day, they did a great job. The windows needed some finessing (as all do) and look great. read more

My experience with Archway wasn't good at all. Roofers left my roof half finished, with rain forecasted for the next few days. I had to call Archway, back to finish my roof. They damaged bushes and left nails on the side exterior walls. They left a gab, between the new roof and the rear wall, and one side of the roof has a arch. They all so, rebuild my chimney, and one of their worker, went inside the attic, to pick up the large broken blocks that had fallen. Several of my personal tools are missing, (Skill jig saw, Milwaukee drill gun etc.). The workers left a message, and I payed extra money to have them clean it up. I spoke to the Archway rep. And he assured me, that the attic would be clean. When, I complain about it, I was told it's not in the contract. Not good at all. read more

While my mom had gone on vacation for a month I had planned to give her a gift on remodeling the Kitchen because she'd always say, I wish you would fix this kitchen up some because I own it and i told her, I wish I could but I have another condo I own and have to fix. So as a surprise I saved up some to do thwe work. I'm big on which company I was going to use and big on the craftsmanship. So I did my research on 5 company's here in Chicago and the company I decided to go with had to do the best work because I believe the quality of work has to be exceptional because your house is your biggest investment and you should protect it with the best things. Yes it's expensive but why choose some Craigslist guy who I'll add was really convincing but what happens when I have a problem with the work or something happens, I didn't even want to take the chance so I went with this company Archway and I was not only happy I did go with them but even more happy with the way I was treated by the whole team. When my mom got home she began to cry and that she loves her new kitchen. I could not be more dissatisfied with Archway Construction. I am a Lincoln Park resident, I was prepared to hire Archway to do a window replacement project for me. However, through multiple acts of incompatence I lost faith in their ability to execute the project and had to go a different direction. They came out to do an estimate. This went well. However, I did not want to use the window that they were suggesting. It was not the same brand as the rest of the windows in my residence and it was important to me to have the same brand throughout my residence. I called and asked them if they could revise my estimate. My contact said yes of course. Then 2 days later he said that he was having trouble getting information for my window. (This is a major brand name window) Then a second gentlemen called me and said that he could help me. He said that he had good news that he could get the information needed to revise my estimate. He needed 2 days. Two days later he called and gave me the revised estimate. It was 30% higher than the original. When I asked him why he simply said that the guy that gave me the original quote wasn't the right guy for this project. He then asked me to schedule another in-home estimate. I agreed. The day of the scheduled estimate guy #1 called me and said that they would not do the work given the window that I was choosing. Even though Guy #2 had said it was no problem. Guy #1 said that they would go ahead and do the work if I went with the original window that they showed me. I restated that it was important to me to have the same windows throughout. He said that they could not. Obvisouly all of this was very confusing. At this point I decided that it might be best to seperate from Archway altogether. Bottome line in my view this is an easy project that should have been very simple to manage. I stuck with these guys through all of this confusion: -two contacts that contridicted each other -unexplainable price increase -canceled appointment In the end I had to go my separate way. If they could not handle the estimating process how could I be confident that they would be able to handle the work. I wasn't going to take a chance with my home. read more

Horrible experience - I gave them a down payment on what I was told would be a one week bathroom remodel, waited FOUR months for them to fit me into their schedule, and was then told they just couldn't fit me in so they returned my money (without interest or appology). I've never felt so jerked around by anybody before. Along the way, I recommended them to a friend (based only on good conversations I had, not any real work performed), and they told that friend the project was too small. Don't bother with Archway. I recently bought a house in the north/west suburbs. I needed a lot of work but thought I would start with the roof and windows. I called four different companies to come out and give me an estimate. One company never showed up or called to cancel the appointment. The second company came out, didn't have any samples to show me and was in a hurry to leave. They said they'd get back to me with a price and it's been 5 1/2 weeks with no price. The third company told me that they were going to do but the price was very high and I didn't like the products they were showing us. Fourth but not least was Archway. Archway's salesman was on time and showed and explained the roofing system products they would use, showed me the windows and the different insulated glass they use. He was the only one that "listened to us" with what we wanted. He gave us a detailed written estimate explaining everything and the price too. After checking Archway Home Remodeling out I decided to go with them. We signed the contract and they gave me dates for the roofing tear off to be done right away. They finished the roof in two days and the crew was very thoughtful of my property and plants. They cleaned up everything and I couldn't be happier. The new roof looks great and the windows are to be installed next week so I will write back after they are in. I had a disappointing experience with this company. I had my estimate done and I decided to use them. Well the foreman had to come back to go over the detes with me. He didn't show up so when I called the office I got no explanation and had to reschedule for the following evening. He did show up,however,he told me they don't normally do jobs under $6000.00 because it costs them 900.00 for their liability insurance. My job was estimated at 2700.00. He also told me that I have to guarantee them parking and pay for it. Paying for it isn't an issue but guaranteeing a parking spot is as I live downtown. I got a follow up call a few days later and explained everything to the man on the phone. Needles to say it's a no go and they haven't tried to make it right. I was all ready to sign the contract and write the check. HIghly disappointed. read more

ME I will not recommend these people to anyone. They rushed to set a start date and when the guys got here they had no materials with them they said the stuff has to be ordered. They left me hanging with workmanship/materials that left alot to be desired. BUT once the money is received they were gone. Then when things started falling apart I had to call 8 - 10 times but they have always ignored my calls. The new trim is falling off the wall, the tile flooring is cracking because the underlayment was not layed correct. The paint is uneven/bare spots. They left a large hole under the stove exposing the crawlspace. They did not remove the garbage I had to do that. read more

Worst experience. The person working on my kitchen was drinking alcohol during working hours - found empty beer bottles on the floor. The cabinets were missing the middle bracket, some of the cabinet doors were put on backward, the electrical outlet is not the appropriate outlet for kitchens, etc. The company denied any errors and I had to hire another company to fix the mistakes. read more

Terrible.....They cancelled twice when coming out to give me a quote & then when someone did come out he couldn't give me a price because I can only assume he was a salesman. Finally when some workers came out who new what they were doing they were not permitted to talk about money. A week went by & heard nothing. I called to follow up & they said they would call me back & they didn't. This all occured over a 6 week period. In this time the leak I had got progressively worse. read more
