Arctic Heating & Air is the BEST! During the recent heatwave, our old a/c unit died. We had a company from our home warrantee come. They gave us a lot of reasons why they couldn't replace it. A contractor friend of ours told us to call Henry at Arctic Air. Boy are we glad we did! Henry came right away, told us how he'd replace it, ordered the unit and installed it a few days later. Henry is a savior. He is professional, trustworthy, responsive and respectful and I couldn't be happier with the service that Arctic Heating & Air provided to me. Henry fixed a disastrous mini-split system install that was done by another contractor. About a year ago, we hired a different contractor to install a 4 unit Samsung mini-split system in our condo. The system did not work well after the installation. He came back a few times to try and fix the system and just made things worse and then eventually stopped responding to me. I tried to find an HVAC company to help me with the mess I was left with and had very little luck. A few companies came out to look at the installation and told me that they weren't interested in fixing it and that it would require too much work. Luckily, I found Arctic Heating & Air. Henry came out to take a look and was angered by the poor workmanship and incompetence that he saw and he agreed to take the job and help me. He had to basically disassemble the entire system, re-install it, fix leaks in the copper lines, fix insulation, fix the electrical wiring, fix the condenser placement on the roof and bring everything to code. It ended up being more work than he had expected, and it took him several more trips than he had expected, but he fixed everything for me quickly and did an amazing job. 3.5 stars, based on good service and a personal perception of high price. Central air conditioner replacement. 95 degrees outside and we need a new unit. I am out of town, and the beautiful M is left to become a fast learner about air conditioners. Workers showed up when promised. New Trane unit installed next day. Nice workmen. Clean install. That's the short story. The details: In retrospect I am not sure it was the best price, and when I looked up the model number of the unit it was not the in the current 2013 line of Trane air conditioners. That's my bad for doing my price/quality homework afterwards. Nonetheless, my unit is considered part of Trane's "standard" line with a relatively low efficiency rating of 13, comparable to the $1400 model currently available. It took 5 hours to install. My total charge was $3100. Overall, I am happy with the job, but it would have been nice to have more options with pricing, and it would have been nice to be advised we were getting last years model unit. Educating your customer enhances the purchase experience. read more

I've used Henry many times in the past to work on my old furnace, which I pray makes it through another winter every year. He's always on time, professional, meticulous and courteous to my tenants. I called him out last Friday to install a shut off valve on my water heater and furnace, which he did quickly and efficiently. However, I asked him to look at a complicated plumbing issue when he was here since he's a plumber also. My building was a built in 1948 and nothing is straightforward. Good clean work at a reasonable price. Prompt about appointments. Ask for Henry. Had ductwork for stove range and update of wall heaters done. I have wood floors and they put on booties without asking and swept up after the work was done. They actually talked me out of getting something else installed and deferring it until later since it was still working fine. Its not a five because there was a small crack hear the lath and plaster area where ducting was installed and they had to cut a 8" hole. Sometimes it is avoidable, sometimes not with lath and plaster. It is a hazard of home improvement. read more

I had a ductless mini split system installed. Arctic's quote came out to be significantly better than the two others I had received. They also used Daikin equipment for the project, which is rated well. Eddie was the main contact with Henry leading technical and Juan and Dennis doing the heavy lifting. The project actually ended up running into several issues due to my HOA as well as some not great initial installation work. I and Arctic should definitely have planned the scope of work more in detail before we began. However, to Arctic's credit, they came back and fixed any issues (mainly changes to the exterior with casing work) and they also corrected some installation issues inside the home upon discovering them. Even though we ran into problem, the guys were quick to resolve them and communication was outstanding with both Eddie and Henry. I'm very happy with the end result and the installed system. We had Arctic Heating & Air install a Mitsubishi Mini Split (12k btu) system about 5 years ago for our bedroom. We love our Mitsubishi. But since our living room has been staying hot, we called to get an estimate. We were interested in another Mitsubishi unit, but they also suggested a Daikin ductless since it has a longer warranty period. The estimate took a little bit of time and they came out twice, but they worked with our needs and pricing was good. On install day, Miguel & Jose showed up promptly at 8 am, and along with their crew, they had the 18k Daikin Mini Split installed by early afternoon. They listened to our needs in placing the unit.
