I needed a gas wall heater for my rental house. Found Aloha Air on Google Search and Yelp. Max, the owner, came out to assess the situation. To come out for an estimate, it was $150, which would apply to the cost. I didn't notice on the estimate I received, the BTU was lower than what was being replaced by 10k BTU (original heater was 35k BTU). It was my oversight by not confirming with Max that it would be the same BTU. Lessons learned. He did explain that 35k is overkill for the area being heated....roughly 500 sqf and the lower heater BTU of 25k would last longer. The installers were neat and tidy and made sure they cleaned up the area after installation. The cost is definitely on the high side $2,200 (cost of the wall heater was $724 plus a new thermostat). It took about 2 1/2 hours to install. So labor was definitely on the high side. Hindsight, I would've gotten a couple of more estimates. read more

We had interviewed 3 or 4 AC contractors to install splits, which we were leaning towards, or central in our house, and thought we had made our decision. I was also very impressed with the overall grades on Yelp. The Los Angeles heat wave has passed, before I got my situation sorted today, 09/20, not necessarily to the fault of Aloha Air. Max mentioned he got overbooked due to the recent heat surge and had to also special-order parts, which is why my job took a full 10 days from start to finish. Max handled the initial assessment and inspection at my house, but to my surprise, the job was completed by Mauricio based on a scheduled vacation Max had. Mauricio was both skilled and friendly, so in the end, everything turned out well. I needed a small loan to pay for the motor and capacitor@ $1,870. I called Aloha to come out and check on my A/C condensate pump, which is right over the guest bedroom and was extremely loud when on. I wasn't sure if the unit was just old and needed to be replaced or if there were other options. Max came out and made a few adjustments to the drain pipe and moved some installation under the unit so it wasn't sitting directly on the drywall. It's much, much better now.
