Jewelry stolen from residents' rooms more common than they would like to admit. Protect your loved ones & their valuables if they live here! My Mom was so taken advantage of while on her death bed & had $35,000 worth of jewelry taken from her closet during her final sei-conscious days. Right under Management's noses & while they say they will "cooperate" with law enforcement will not do anything themselves to solve. My mom loves living at La Siena. She has now been there 5+ years. She has many friends and enjoys all the activities offered; her favorites being rumycub, painting, movies, Wednesday and Friday happy hours with great entertainment and visiting the library. Family visits are highly encouraged. They also have a spotless heated pool and jacuzzi. Again, family and friends are welcome. Nicky has been there the entire time my Mom has been and she is an amazing woman who organizes events and helps with anything residents may need. Martine and Pancho are brothers and facility managers. They are amazing. They love their job and are so nice and accommodating to the needs of the residents whether it be needing help with their cable TV, fixing thermostat or even needing a lightbulb changed in ceiling fan, they are so helpful and friendly. My mom loves them. Jonathon is a stand up and caring Director. He is the best thing that ever happened to La Siena, so anyone who rated this place a 1 star doesn't live at La Siena. He is very responsive to questions or concerns. More importantly, he is present and engaged with residents and employees. I could mention so many other staff members, dining room wait staff but I'm running out of space. Trust me, you will not find better retirement living anywhere. My mom lived at La Siena for over six years as an independent living resident . It was great. The staff cares, they truly connect with residents. I cannot say enough about Nikki. She is an Angel wandering around La Siena engaging residents and helping in any way needed. Martine and his brother, Pancho, come from a DNA line of gentlemen. They are both skilled, helpful and full of charm, especially Martine. Pancho is more reserved.The servers in the dining room are typically young and they take the time to know residents and their typical breakfast. It's so cute. Sometimes the elderly forget and the servers remind them what they usually order . Jonathan B. the Director is my favorite and my mother's fav. He goes the extra mile everyday and he "knows" the residents. Even when my mom's memory was failing, she recognized Jonathan. Although I was very disappointed with the assisted living side, I realized just how undependable people are and there are way too many people who cannot read or understand simple care plans. I hired private caregiver, and was very lucky to find an amazing woman. But I had to hire a second person so this woman wasn't working 11hrs a day. And she deserved some days off for doctor appointments, rest, family . I found a caregiver who didn't show up to relieve our wonderful primary caregiver, so now it is time for a group home. It is going to be very difficult, but knowing my mom lived a good life at La Siena for so long, makes it a bit easier. Thank you La Siena. read more

Raised our rates without notice. Said they were providing services that they were not providing (we installed a webcam to keep tabs on this and they clearly were not providing the services they were charging us for.) I now think this is a fine place for independent residents but the minute your loved one needs to move into assisted living (at any level) watch out. The facility is nice, the activities are decent, many of the people are nice, but I cannot recommend due to a complete lack of confidence that they provide the assisted living services you pay for. read more

Had my mom staying here for a while a few years ago. I came across a pamphlet of theirs given to me if I could of had the luxury of just having a live in nurse I would have. I called in to see if certain residents friends of my mom's were still there and got little to no information. It reminds me of the rude staff working there and no I'm not talking about the nurses or trying to bash the waiters I'm talking about The Money Hungry Savages that are supposed to be managing this place just horrendous people in general I feel for their real hard working staff. read more

Visited friends. food was delicious. Salad like a five star resort with tri tip. Apartments very nice and spacious. Wonderful staff. Amenities were quite resort like. I would be happy to live there in my golden years! read more

The first 3 years of my parents stay was rocky. With the establishment of Johnathan Burningham as Executive Director, the culture became more supportive and communicative. Enough good cannot be said about the exemplary maintenance staff, Martin & Pancho care for residents as if they were family. The front desk evening staff, Alvin, Debbie & Sabrina are compassionate listeners. The young wait staff have a respectful tone and a ready smile. srg as a corporation, is more business than service, but Jonathan runs interference on behalf of the residents to the very best of his abilities. La Siena is worthy of your time and attention as you consider alternative living for your aging parent(s). read more

Before going any further I would like to explain the reason for giving a 2 star rating. Sitting here in my frustration I am tempted to give a rating of zero stars (less if I could) but that would be an injustice to the wonderful staff who deal directly with the residents of La Siena, Everyone from the front desk staff, to the dining room staff, the staff who provide personal care and medical related assistance, the staff who clean residents apartments and carry out the in apartment laundry service, the transportation staff, to name just some - they treat the residents excellently and that is very easily seen. Always very cheerful, courteous, and quick to show their interest and concern for the residents. These employees set a high standard for their competition to match. The facilities are very nice and truly resort like with very spacious apartments. The staff members and the facilities themselves deserve a five star rating. The situation I am writing about involves my niece who is a resident at La Siena. She happens to be the exception to the average person living in an assisted living facility as she is only 39. She has MS and an assisted living residence is the best living arrangement for her at this time. I realize this a long review and decided not to shorten it as it is intended to provide information to, and benefit, those who are researching assisted living facilities for their loved one. On Sunday 11/24/19 at 10:49 AM I received a text from my niece with a photo of a rash with blisters on her back that she woke up with. She had a care associate there take a picture so she could send it to me. I let her know that I was just finishing up some chores outside and that I would be there as soon as I got cleaned up and stopped by the pharmacy to pick up some prescriptions for her. When I got to La Siena I asked at the front desk to talk to the nurse on duty so she could look at the rash with me as I was concerned it was shingles based on pictures I looked up. Michelle the nurse on duty did come down and confirm it was shingles and pointed out the linear path it would follow if it spread further. We immediately took my niece to urgent care where the doctor confirmed it was shingles for which he prescribed an antiviral and told us to apply an antibacterial cream to the rash and to cover it with a gauze bandage to prevent the spread of the virus. He instructed us that the bandage should be changed every 24 hours. He informed us that the virus was contagious to anyone who has not had chicken pox or shingles and that keeping the rash covered would prevent the spread of any virus. He also stated that we probably intervened just in time to keep it from spreading but we would have to wait and see. He, also, pointed out the linear path it would follow if it continued to spread. In fact, we did catch it in time and prevent it from spreading at all. When we went back to La Siena I went to see Michelle and let her know what the outcome was. I informed her that; it was indeed shingles, she was prescribed an antiviral and what the bandaging instructions were. I explained to Michelle, that because of the additional medication times and the doctor's instructions, I needed to know what I needed to do set up help with the medications and anything else required due to the situation. I told her I understand that this will be at addition expense for the service. She responded that to that would require an administrative change order which would be a hassle and take some time. She went on to state that we could make it easier if I would change her bandage every 24 hours and they would remind her to take her additional pills. I said OK if that covers us with the situation. I let her know that when I came back after going to the pharmacy to pick up the antiviral I would get the pills set up in an addition AM/PM weekly pill container and label it appropriately with a magic marker. I did in fact do that. On Monday 11/25 at 3:36 PM I received a phone call from Alyssa at La Siena. She was calling to find out what medication M is taking. I informed her I was at work and didn't have the name of the drug with me. She told me that was fine I could let her know once I got home. I let her know I would call or email it once I got home. After working a long day and before I could get back to Alyssa I became aware of the following email Alyssa sent at 3:59PM. Hi Don, I tried reaching out to Dr. P for wound care orders to keep M's shingles covered. Dr. P's office said she has not been seen since he went private practice. Is he still her primary physician? I am sure you are aware the shingles is contagious. It is imperative that we obtain orders for wound care and find out what kind of Shingles M has.
