I love Arepa Grill. This is one of my favorite places in Roswell. I've been many times, and it never disappoints. I usually get arepas (pabellón, reina pepiada or sifrina). They are all delicious. Their tequeños and pastelitos are great, too. Last night I had the pabellón patacón (shredded beef, black beans & cheese). I didn't realize it also came with coleslaw and ham, and wow...I loved all the flavors!! The ambiance is always great. Normally a little busier and louder on the weekends, but during the week it's more calm and quiet. The service is outstanding! read more

Love the decorations! Very fun and in season for Halloween. They have indoor and outdoor-ish seating. Everywhere you look, it's decorated. Even the chips came in a pumpkin mug! It was kind of a lot, but that's also due to the menu, which took me awhile to decide on what to eat. Our server was attentive and helpful. We had questions, and he answered to the best of his abilities. He also brought out chips and sauces while we were looking through the menu and described each sauce. We liked the jalapeno and garlic ones the most! The arepa tour was a nice way to try different flavors without having to commit to one choice. The arepas tasted good, though I definitely preferred some over others. If you are not a savory and sweet enjoyer, I would not recommend Pabellon as you can taste the fried plantain in each bite. I liked it, but my friend found it an odd combination. I wasn't the biggest fan of shredded chicken, but that's bc it's typically dry, and while this wasn't super dry, it wasn't exactly as flavorful as the other options. For the main course, the asado negro sounded right up my alley as the arepa version went into detail with how the beef is braised in red wine and sugar cane. It left much to be desired when I ordered the big plate non-arepa version. Just off looks, it wasn't as visually appealing as others' dishes were. Eating it... well, the meat was very, very dry. The sauce was fine, but it didn't help with the dryness of the meat. I most likely ordered wrong since everything else was great. I got quesillo for dessert, which was described as flan, and I found it pretty good. Thicker than I'm used to and not as smooth but with a lovely cinnamon flavor. read more

What an amazing place to enjoy some south american staple and street food. I have loved Arepas and went here with the family. Here is the summary of our visit for a weekend dinner: 1) Ambiance 5/5: The ambiance is soothing, well lit, delightful and looks great. With wooden high ceilings and some great lightings, this place is inviting. 2) Service 5/5: The service has fast and great and gentleman attending us explained patiently about the options and graciously obliged my changes as I wanted a vegetarian option. 3) Food 5/5: The food was tasty and good looking. Here is the summary of what we had: a) They served us some plantain and sweet potato which were delicious b) Green patacon in arepa: I asked them to change to green patacon and help me with a filling in arepa and they happily obliged. The taste was good and filling c) Venezuelan Tour: It was an assortments of various fried things and looked delicious d) Arepa Tour: It looked cool and was delicious as well. 4) Value for Money 4.5/5: The presentation and taste was good but it not the cheapest place. We did a girls night dinner here and even though it was a weeknight, this place was busy!! The menu was large and there was a great variety of dishes! The waiter was knowledgeable and explained the whole menu to us! The wine is amazing! Parking is super easy because it is a parking lot so that was convenient! Three of us had lunch at Arepa Grill Kitchen and Wine (May 27, 2026). I get it that some people may have expected more from the restaurant and staff but, personally, I thought the food and the waitress were excellent! Most restaurants have growing pains during the first few months after opening. We all learn through our mistakes. Whatever problems Arepa may have had, they learned and have exceeded my expectations. Now, on to the review of the food. This is not at all like Mexican food. I would consider a major step up from Mexican. All the dishes sounded good on the menu so we took the Tour option to decide what we liked. It was hard to decide because all the small dishes were tasty! The service was prompt and attentive. Water refilled before being empty or half full. We were asked what we thought of the dishes and loved them all. The desserts are large and delicious. We will definitely return and bring friends to share a wonderful experience and fabulous new cuisine. Tell your friends to ignore the old negative reviews from 2025 and don't pass up on a gastronomical experience. An awesome addition to Roswell and to Oak Street! We were super excited to find out a Venezuelan restaurant was opening nearby and decided to try it out for a Sunday lunch. The complementary chips with sauces were a nice surprise. We tried the tequenos ($7), black vegan arepa ($10), pabellon arepa ($12), and fried yucca. Everything felt fresh and vibrant. The atmosphere felt fitting for either a date night or a dinner with friends. We appreciated that the menu had a wide variety of price points depending on if you want a casual meal or a nicer experience. Our server was friendly and thorough in offering recommendations. This was another restaurant where we talked about coming back while we were still eating. In a sea of American restaurants near downtown Roswell, this restaurant is a welcome change. read more

I really wanted to love this place, and for a brief time, I did. The food is excellent, and it genuinely has so much potential. Unfortunately, however, after 9 visits, we have officially crossed it off our list of go-to restaurants in the area and will not be returning no matter how much I might be craving some of their menu items. While the ambiance is as great as the food, and the staff is friendly enough, the service just sucks. They were disorganized from the start, which we attributed to growing pains, but the more we visited, the clearer it became that they were getting worse rather than better. At one point, they ran out of fries because they got slammed from all the good press, so they bought a bunch of frozen fries to hold them over. I could understand that for one day, maybe even two, but they went a full two weeks serving those junky frozen fries. When I asked why they were still serving that garbage, I was told it was because they bought too much and planned to use them up before they went back to normal. I was aghast. I mean, number one you shouldn't have bought enough frozen anything to last for more than a very temporary emergency situation and even if you got too much, you keep it frozen until your next emergency rather than serve frozen fries at premium prices for weeks just because it was easier. This should have been enough of a red flag for me but I guess I am a glutton for punishment because we kept going back. The next issue I noticed is a major lack of consistency. Some days, their "burger" was awesome with just the right balance of ground beef and chorizo to hit that sweet spot, but other days there was way too much chorizo and the mix just tasted off and barely edible. Despite that red flag, we brought in a big group of visiting family because we thought they would love the food and they did, but the service on that visit was not great. They were rushing us because they had reservations they wanted to clear the table for and yet they took forever to bring anything out, which gave us almost no time to enjoy what we had ordered. The final straw for us was a few days ago. My parents were in town and we wanted to take them and my inlaws out for a nice dinner. We chose Arepa Grill Kitchen and arrived just after 5 PM on a Saturday. The restaurant was not even halfway full. There were 8 of us crowding the front door so it was impossible not to notice us and yet it took more than 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our existence. When a guy finally came over, he said he was going to check if he could accomodate us and kept us waiting another 7 minutes or so. At this point, we were pretty irritable. He returned to say that we could sit but would need to order, eat, and leave within 90 minutes because they had many reservations they were expecting. Knowing how slow their service is regularly, we knew better than they seem to that what they were proposing was impossible. No alternatives were offered even though there were more than half the restaurants tables open and ALL of them patio tables open. We would have been willing to split into two tables if offered the chance and I seriously doubt that EVERY table in that mostly empty restaurant was going to be completely occupied within 90 minnutes of our arrival. If they had not taken so long to even acknowledge us or be more confident in their ability to provide timely service once seated, perhaps everyone could have easily been accomodated and I would not be writing them off or updating this review. The fact is that my husband and I were repeat, high tipping customers and we were treated like we did not matter in front of visiting family that we wanted to enjoy a nice dinner with. In our book, that is a deal breaker regardless of how good the food might be. They may have quality food but have dropped the ball too much on service to warrant moving our visits into the double digits and beyond. There is too much competition in the foodspace here in Roswell to warrant accepting this kind of lousy service, which is why this is the end of the road for us. We went to Arepa Grill Kitchen & Wine knowing very little about Venezuelan cuisine (other than arepas!) and left wondering why we hadn't tried it sooner. The place itself is the perfect balance--modern and stylish, yet still cozy enough that you feel instantly comfortable. Our waitress was a total star: super polite, patient, and so knowledgeable. She walked us through the menu, answered all our questions, and even suggested the perfect drinks to go with our food. It felt like having our own personal food guide. ( I believe her name is Ashley!) The food? Absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every bite had us saying "you've got to try this!" And just when we thought it couldn't get any better... the churros arrived. Let's just say they were to die for and the perfect sweet ending to an amazing meal. I usually give positive reviews and am a very patient customer but I have to give this experience a 2. Had a small group reservation here with a friend visiting from out of town. I have dined here before but at the bar. We were greeted by the hostess and were immediately placed in the patio room with the big heater, while we requested to sit inside. We sat there for half an hour without any server acknowledging us. Not even given water. The larger group next to us- they heavily complained and eventually received a discount. We flagged down a server and once we put our orders in, water and all the food came quickly. The food is delicious and has been every time we have dined here. It really is authentic Venezuelan food. Our server was responsive and attentive once we got one. I am unsure if the restaurant was short staffed this evening but it was disappointing. I know Friday nights can be one of the busiest nights but this restaurant needs to figure out how to provide better service. read more

And the food - the food was amazing. We meant to take pictures of all of it but it was too good; by the time we remembered, we were staring down at empty plates. I've had Venezuelan food before and let me tell you this place knows exactly what it's supposed to be like.
