I came here for a lunch with a friend. I've come to this plaza before but hadn't seen this place so was excited to check it out. There's plenty of parking in the lot and Arepita Cafe is tucked into the corner of the plaza. I had a cup of the soup of the day and Arepa con pabellon criollo. The soup was warm and tangy and I loved the little cheese cubes they gave on the side to put in the soup. The arepa was so delicious and toasty and I loved all the sauces they had to put over it (the cilantro and crema sauces were my favorites). The last time I ate here, my card got overcharged by about $20. I don't remember if they printed me a receipt from their portable card reader but I dont have the receipt anymore but knew exactly what I ate. I called and spoke with the owner. They said they would call their card company and get back to me but never did. I advise to get a copy of your receipt and double check. Food experience 4/5 stars: I've been here twice and have had great service done in. I had the same server both times and really enjoy their capachas $13. They are perfectly chewy and all the sauces with the meat come together very well. The sampler was also good if you want to try a little bit of everything. The arepas are harder to chew than the capachas so. I prefer the corn flavor and texture of the capachas more. We tried a house special too but it was just okay compared to the cachapa. Wow! That was surprisingly delicious. One of our best finds in a long time. The Pabellón Criollo Venezolano tasted like ropa vieja. Honeslty, I might not have noticed it wasn't if I wasn't told. The meat portion was not very big, but with the rice, beans, and maduros, it was filling. The Cachapa Con Carne Mechada maize mixture is very sweet. So good though. We split both. I've had my eye on Arepita Cafe for a while, and finally tried it yesterday for First Taste Friday! It's located in a shopping center with plenty of free parking. It's a bit hidden, so you'd have to rely on your GPS to take you there. I came by for a late lunch and they weren't busy. There were two other diners. Masks are required, social distancing is encouraged, and sanitizer is provided. They're open for dine in and have plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. I was immediately greeted by a friendly gentleman when I walked in. I let him know I wanted to place an order to go. He gave me a menu and also offered a contactless menu option. I was torn between the arepa vegan and arepa perico and asked for his rec. He suggested the arepa perico $9.99, so I went with that as well as an app, tequeños $5.99. The arepa perico has scrambled eggs with tomato and onions and came with a side of fries. Tequeños are Venezuelan-style cheese sticks and comes with a side of garlic dipping sauce. Both had generous portions. I haven't had many arepas, but really enjoyed theirs. I was worried it would taste like a breakfast sandwich, but it didn't at all. It was delicious and filling. The tequeños were enjoyable as well. I loved the dough. They have a nice variety of arepas and other traditional Venezuelan dishes. I look forward to trying more items from the menu! read more

The arepas (smaller with smaller corn pieces) and cachapas (bigger and sweeter) are two things you must try. The cachapas was amazing! Get it! The grilled steak was seriously yummy! Maybe it's bc I haven't had Venezuelan food before... It's sort of like a quesadilla but is made with corn-like tortillas. It's not the traditional corn tortillas you're thinking about either. The corn's more refined and has a different texture. Regardless of the outside, the inside was stuffed with a hardy amt of steak and avocados. :) The significant other's grilled sausage pepitos was pretty good too. There was an egg strangely scrambled throughout the sandwich though. The complimentary side, which in the significant other's case was a salad, was so so. Just get the fries. :) You can ask for additional sauces like garlic or mild mojito that adds a little kick of flavor. Very rare to find authentic South American food in Georgia. Highly recommend their arroz con pollo, and Asasado Negro. Ironically the Arepas were very marginal. Hard exterior and half melted cheese, instead of the usual soft exterior with the cheese inside, that mingles seamlessly inside. So get their South American dishes but avoid their namesake. One last thing, unusually small portions for a South American restaurant, but not stingy. It will fill you up. read more

The first time I ordered their mixed appetizer ( Arepita, sweet plantain and empanadas); I also ordered a side of tequeños, and for the entrée I ordered breaded chicken Pollo Empanizado) . I just tried them for the second time and this time I ordered the cachapa (Venezuelan pancakes) and the Reina Pepiada (Chicken/ avocado arepa), with a side of yuca. The cachapa tasted okay but was dry. The arepa was too doughy but the chicken/ avocado salad was good. The side of yuca was the worse that I have ever had and definitely not worth the $1.75 up charge. I will probably try them one more time. read more

Never had Venezuelan cuisine before. I have been missing out apparently. The food here was very filling and left really satisfied. The restaurant itself is deceptively big. It's a narrow restaurant but deep and has plenty of seating. Price wise the restaurant is affordable and for the quality you are receiving it's a good deal. Most of the menu, you probably have never heard of and even with the descriptions you still might not be too sure what to get. I went with someone who has been there before so they were able to recommend a few dishes. If you don't know anyone, ask the waiter and I'm sure they'll be able to recommend a favorite. The food though is very savory and you'll be surprised by how well it fills you up. Definitely worth the visit. The food is unique in its own way when you compare it to other Latin countries. My son and I drove around for quite a long time last weekend, looking for a new and special place to grab lunch. We were so glad that we stumbled upon Arepita Cafe! It was tucked away in a shopping center that did not have a great deal of visibility, but there was ample parking. The low visibility did not seem to dampen the restaurant's popularity - nearly every table seated guests. We were greeted warmly at the door and seated right away. I ordered the cachapa pernil (after checking out all of the Yelp photos), which arrived stuffed with avocado and tomato. The corn pancake was excellent - rich and sweet. It was served with butter, which was very tempting, but I did not use it (I am certain, the cachapa would have been divine with butter!). The pork was perfectly roasted and not too salty (a problem I have encountered with roasted pork at other spots). I ordered the arepa con jamon y queso for my son, and it, too, hit the spot. What a great find! Tasty food and great service. We would certainly return. read more

Great experience trying out Venezuelan food. Service was great! It was pretty busy for a late Sunday afternoon. We got a few things to try. We got the tostanes for the appetizer. They were hot and crunchy with a delicious dipping sauce. Hubby loved his shrimp arepa. It was bigger than he expected, so he ended up taking his cachapa entree home for later. I got the patacones for my entree. It's vegetarian with tostanes, bell peppers, avocado, and cheese. It was delicious. For dessert we got the mocha cake which was a chocolatey tiramisu. Ordered Arepita Burger, Cachapa coni pollo, Arepa Reina Pepiada, Tequenos, and Empanaditas Trio. I didn't feel the Arepa Reina Pepiada, Tequenos, and Empanaditas Trio were a good deal. Taste was OK, not too flavorful, and don't get much for the money. However, the Arepita Burger and Cachapa coni pollo were tasty and a good value. Those can fill you up and have unique flavors.
