I've taken my little fur buddy here twice. He has never resisted going in, which to me is a good sign. I've been to other places and my pups fought fight like crazy not to go in. If they had lower than a star that would be my rating for this place. I have a 90-year-old friend who took her dog to Arfin Annie's to be groomed and the dog was scratching on the kennel cage and trying to let them know she had to get out and go to the bathroom but they ignored her so she peed and pooped on herself because she couldn't get out and go to the bathroom. So they had to re-bathe her. When my friend went to pick her dog up, They said the dog Bethany, had behaved badly & that she was very anxious. Well my friend Pat was very upset and called me to talk to me about it and was worried about her dog. So I went over to Arfin Annies to question why they didn't let the dog out to go to the bathroom because that's how Bethany signals (by scratching the crate) to go to the bathroom. I tried to call but of course they didn't answer the phone they let the answering machine get it. On the answering machine it says that they're so busy they can't answer the phone right now. So I decided to drive over and talk to someone in person. When I arrived three of them we're all sitting at the front desk doing nothing but chatting. "They were obviously extremely busy." Oh and by the way, from the time of my phone call to the time I arrived was probably Max five minutes but doubtful it was that long. So I went in the quiz them about what was they deal? I asked him several questions about what was the dog doing? how was she behaving? when was she scratching? etc. and they told me that the dog was probably senile. So I ask oh and what are the signs of senility then? And they basically said all the behaviors that we just told you about and she was spinning around and around on the table. Meanwhile I'm thinking to myself you couldn't do something about this behavior to help the dog feel better? Needless to say I found their answers unsatisfactory and turned on my heel, and left the store. Before I got home and I live maybe, three minutes away from Arfin Annies I received a phone call from my friend Pat, (the man that now owns Arfin Annies, I didn't bother to find out his name because I was extremely unimpressed) had called Pat and fired her and her dog from ever going back there again because I had come in and questioned him so rudely! I found that to be very funny because I had not been rude, I just very direct in my questioning but not rude. What I really wanted to do was turn my car around and walk in and tell him "Oh Honey, You Haven't Seen Rude! But I decided No, I would just call Pooccini's dog grooming and leave this little message for all to see. Oh by the way I have been working with dogs professionally for about 15 yrs now. Dog behavior & training has been a hobby of mine for as long as I can remember. That idiot who owns Arfin Annies has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to the behavior of dogs. And I hope it makes him feel really proud to fire a 90-year-old woman and her dog from going to his establishment ever again, because we weren't ever going back anyway! read more

I've been taking my Morkie to get groomed at Arfin Annie's since he was 3 months old. The last time I took him will be the last time I take him. When I came to pick him up he was whimpering, and putting his head on my shoulder. The staff told me he was ready for cuddles. His groomer was there but did not say anything. A day after his grooming I noticed about 5 nicks on his private area. I went back and talked to them and told them what happened and wondered why I was not made aware of this. Lupe his groomer was there in the front reception area when I picked him up but did not mention a thing to me. To this day my poor pup gets very nervous when we go for a ride and even throws up. I was looking everywhere for a walk in salon and finally I got to this place. They did such an amazing job! He had so much fur and I was scared of his fur looking all choppy. They were quick to get him finished and called me to tell me he was ready. When I came back to pick him up, I wasn't sure if it was my dog. Haha. I've been taking my dogs here for about six months now. They are always so kind and gentle with my babies. They are always accommodating, and my pups come out looking and smelling amazing. For me, it's how well they understand my pups. For example, my dogs panic if they think the other is being hurt or is scared. They need to see that each other is ok. So to ease their worry, they will bring my dogs out to calm each other down. Letting both pups know each other is ok. My dogs fully understand this! (I have only taken my dog back to get a better 'poop-poop path' and he got that done right away. Very personable, caring and professional service. Arfin' Annie's is the only place I will take my pup to get groomed. As a very protective pet owner of my senior cocker spaniel, you better believe I will not entrust her every-other-month grooming to just anyone. I've been using this groomer for nearly 10 years now. I did switch to another place in town for a brief period of time when the owners and location changed, but these new owners are absolutely phenomenal! They always welcome her with open arms, despite her attempts to sneak out and run far away. They are always mindful of her tongue, which is actually a concern in that it hangs out of her mouth at all times. Also, she has yet to return home with a knick of any kind (which is actually a very common thing with groomers because dogs move all the time when they are shaving them). I truly appreciate the cleanliness of this facility, the kindness of the staff, and the thoroughness of their work. I don't know if there's new ownership or something but I have never had such poor grooming on my dog. They let him lay in something black when he was done and wouldn't brush it off for me when I asked. They didn't trim much off his face which I mentioned was the most problem area for him. They cut the tops of his moles off after I pointed them out and cut the back of his arm and didn't bother mentioning it to me. I've taken my dog in there many times before and never had this issue. But I'm very upset with the service. read more

Absolutely terrible! I asked to have my Alaskan Malamute bathed, nails clipped, brushed, and trim a little area on his rear so he can go to the bathroom cleanly. I picked him up, his belly and rear end were shaved down to the skin (breaking skin in 2 spots nearly bleeding)! You could clearly see the marks from the shaver on his skin. Within hours he had infected hot spots on his backside and tail! He was so thirsty when he got home like he hadn't been given water at all during the day. We took our Shih Tzu mix for her first haircut, when we made the appointment we ask if they had any experience with Shih Tzu's and they said "O Yes". When we arrived they seamed to understand what we wanted. Had the groomer (Lupe) cared about what she was doing it might have looked like we wanted. Chopped into everywhere one side different from the other, it looks terrible! Our dog was left full of cut hair, it was disrespectfully never blown off, making a complete mess of our car interior. We were told the appointment would take about two hours and we started to worry when we were called just after an hour. The Lupe was already gone when we got there 15 minutes later, evidently in too much of a hurry to get out of there to do a good job. The absentee owner had to be called because none of the other groomers wanted to repair the bad work at that time. Our $55.64 was refunded and we were told to call back in a week or two and ask for the owner to meet with us and the groomer to TRY and repair the bad work. We're afraid to take her back... read more
