It's not "fake" American wagyu that's barely prime grade either--the marbling is a perfect balance between the richness of Australian/Japanese wagyus and a regular prime. The staff here are generally friendly and very helpful, and work hard to get you what you want. The only issue I've had over the years was one of the older guys behind the counter charging us for something much more expensive than what we actually asked for, and we had to drive all the way back to get a refund. Not sure what the deal was since we ran into him when getting the refund and he seemed annoyed rather than apologetic lol. But! Aside from that, everyone's great. When they're busy, grab a number from the corner and they'll call. There's a great selection in the case of just about every type of meat including fresh seafood. Bought a slab of Icelandic cod today as well because it looked so nice. If you order a lot, they'll ring you up in the back, otherwise they'll let you bring it to the front checkout to pay.

I've been coming here for over 20 years since I was a kid. Hands down the best Carne Asada around! Toss this on the grill at any party and you will be sure to steal the show. It can get pricey at times depending on the season but it's worth it. Grab some of their green salsa and tortillas to pair it with and it's a wrap! GAME. SET. MATCH. Also the Carnitas are good too. Instead of going to a taco truck I'd grab a pound of this and feed the whole family. They also sell a good assortment of Latin American groceries. My mom is from Colombia and she comes here to buy flour for to make bueñelos y arepas. Overall a solid little market that I'm very glad to still see open. read more

This place gets a 4 out of 5 solely on 1 item that they sell. The marinated carne asada is sooo good here. This is the only reason why I ever set food in this market. It's about $5 or $6 a pound and they never run out. 1 pound easily fills 2 people. All you need to do is put it on the grill and your ready to go! I don't recommend buying any of the produce here. It usually looks old and not appealing. Just walk in , go straight to the meat dept, get your carne asada and get out!!! read more

You won't see a building from the address; it is only a driveway off of East Villa Street. If you go straight up Allen you will see Baldwin alley. You can turn right on Baldwin alley going north and find the market with plenty of parking available. It is easy to see why those that find this Market really enjoy it. It is like a convenience store with a combination of South of the border and Southern Asian products. There is also a large refrigerated area along the wall that has any number of juices, drinks, and beers. You have to walk down each aisle so that you can see the number of products that you can't find anywhere else. Spices packaged as well as cans and jars of specialty flavors. There was a meat and cheese display along a counter covered with glass. A variety of meats and cheeses were available. There was a preparation area close by with a blender and air fryer. During the week for lunch they make fresh tacos there that have great flavor and are very popular. I tried the carnitas. Gary made them fresh for me and they had great spice and were well worth the reasonable cost. Everything was made fresh. They are hoping to expand food preparation in the future. I look forward to that day. There were a few people in the store that are definitely regulars as they knew exactly where to go to find the items they were looking for. I was directed by two people at the front counter as to what area is to look for the products that I wanted to pick up. As I expressed at the beginning of this review this Market is worth seeking out. I can't wait to come back and pick up some other items that I know that I can't find anywhere else. Their Indian section is very popular with friends of mine. It's nice that the front desk will translate some of the labels that were hard to decipher. Friendly, great service, unique products, a true experience. I look forward to coming back!
