The not so light on the Caesar. Piece of advice, say you want a side size.
    Ray Y.

I'll review food in my pics. Service was good. I ordered a Caesar salad for a side and requested light Caesar. Server originally said no we can't do that and couple people in my dinner party was like no way. So I said it's ok then. He came back later and says we can do that. To his credit, he might have been new or was just helping out the server staff. The interior decor matched the theme of the restaurant so is was nice.

Plus tip. Almost $200 for low quality and no flavor....

I'm so disappointed of what this restaurant (Gaucho Grill) has become. One of the original locations in Santa Monica was amazing. I've been to their Downey location and it still has some flavor. But this Pasadena location was a complete disappointment as far as the food...starting with the chimichuri and the bread, low quality on both. The meat quality was not what I'm used to at these restaurants, empanada oil must've been older, because that's all you could taste. Rice, fries, should not be served. I'm sorry but this has no longer Argentine flavors...so so disappointed to spend my money there and to have left just with a bad taste....service was ok, but they really didn't want to hear that the food was not up to par...there's so many other Argentine places that you can go to and pay less....

Cheers to a great happy hour here! The appetizers and drinks are priced just right for anyone looking to go out and not leave with an empty wallet. Lots of tables, booths and a large bar. Met my yelp sisters for a drink and some appies on a Wednesday. We had a great time and appreciated our server taking such great care of us. We shared a few of the HH appetizers: *Truffle fries -$3 *Garlic Cheese Bread - $3 *Artichoke & Eggplant Dip - $9 *Classic Marg - $9 Perfect for sharing & tasty. My margarita was a little sweet so I added some ice which helped. Plenty of parking on Lake depending on the time. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant as well. ~ and that's all I have to say about that...

Very friendly staff, and attentive. Food was good and for a steak, reasonably priced. Skirt steak did not disappoint, cooked as asked and with very nice flavors (just add some of that chimichurri for it to be perfect), and the side of sweet corn was tasty, creamy and decent portion.

    Happy Hour margarita $9.

Met up with my lovely Sisters B for Happy Hour and a Wednesday night. We got there before the crowd arrived and sat in a booth with a view of the dining room. Our server was delightful and she brought us some bread with chimichurri sauce to dip it in. They have some great deals for Happy Hour, so we ordered a few plates to share. Truffle Fries ($3), Garlic Cheese Bread ($3), and Artichoke & Eggplant Dip ($9). I also had the Classic Margarita ($9). The portion of fries was generous and they were so good! The serving size of the other two dishes were small, so you may want to order two. The Garlic Cheese bread is dangerously delicious, and the Artichoke & Eggplant Dip was also tasty. The margarita was nicely balanced. I enjoyed it. Most of all, I enjoyed catching up with my darling friends. *Parking structure behind the restaurant on Hudson.

Happy Hour is Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 pm. It's a 5 minute walk from work so I able to enjoy at least about a hour of the happiness. On my recent visit I tried their Filet Mignon Sliders $6 with Truffle fries $3. My sliders came with mini brioche buns with caramelized onions, aioli, blue cheese and arugula. The sliders were great as well as my fries. While I was their I enjoyed two Lagunitas IPA beers bringing my grad total to a little over $20 after taxes.

Great for groups, and even better for Argentinean food. I came here on a Sunday with a group of four gals for brunch. This Pasadena location has a beautiful interior, with wood tones throughout the space, and red leather seats that give it that warm and welcoming ambiance. As a group, we ordered (2) appetizers to share: the Albondigas $22.00 and Calamari Marplatense $22.00. I gotta say, their calamari dish here is one of the best I've had in a long time. The batter was perfect, and fried perfectly to give it that crispy/crunchy texture I love, plus, you can still taste the squid. It didn't even need the sauce to be honest! I've never had Albondigas before, but it might become one of my favorite things. They are Lamb & Chorizo Meatballs, with big bold flavors, but my favorite thing was the tomato sauce. I ate a lot of this just to keep eating the tomato sauce! It's very good and a great shareable for the table. I love a good ribeye for its buttery taste and tenderness so that's what I got! I got for myself their Ojo de Bife $44.00 and it was a great call. The steaks had that perfect wood-fire smokey taste, and it tasted even better seeing the live fire in the kitchen haha! The chefs can definitely put on a great show with their open kitchen concept. I got to choose 1 side with my steak so I chose the Gaucho Veggies. They do not skimp on the veggies, my bowl was packed with potatoes, zuchinni, mushrooms, and more. So generous! If you're worried about parking like I am most of the time, don't be! When you past Gaucho's on Lake Ave, just keep going down to pass the Mattress Firm store and turn into the Macy's & Shops parking lot on S Hudson Ave. There is plenty of parking and free, too, for 3 hours I believe. Plenty of time to enjoy a good meal. My girl friends got their Prime Picanha $41.00, Steak and Egg $26.00, and a salad, for their entree, and we all felt like we had a big feast and got lots of leftovers to take home! My friends and I all left with happy tummies and big smiles. Thank you Gaucho Grill Pasadena!

The food is pretty good. I'd rate the steaks 7/10. The American Wagyu tomahawk was cooked beautifully, however wasn't as tender as I expected. They have a good choice of sides and a variety of other dishes, I really do appreciate the diversity to choose different foods from their menu. Overall, it's a nice place to eat at and experience Argentinian steak.

First time here and I loved it! Loved the vibes inside, with the fairly dim lighting, a lot of different types of seating/tables, and I nice big bar area. The staff were friendly and attentive. We went during lunch where they had different specials going on. The empanadas were delicious! I would go back just for those and the bread they served. I liked my steak but the veggies it came with had a weird taste. Something about the sauce was off to me but the corn was good and I would definitely go back and try another entree.

Love this place! Food was AMAZING!!!! Rodrigo our server was EPIC. Never tried empanada de Pastor and it was fire. Will be back during happy hour

What a great restaurant. Met a friend here for lunch, we had a good time. The Servers were awesome the entire time. It was quiet when we arrived, shortly after opening, a light crowd. Started with drinks, the margaritas and sangrias (white and red) are tasty and refreshing. For the starters, we ordered a mix of empanadas, all of them were delicious, my favorite is the short rib. The entree was the ribeye steak, mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. Very well prepared and filling. So good. To finish, the dolce leche crepes for dessert, an excellent closing to a great experience

    Carolyn F.

We found this to be a relaxing restaurant for a late afternoon or early dinner serving delicious food. The chicken -cheese empanada had a crispy pastry with a filling of flavorful ground chicken and melted cheese. I ordered it with the arugula salad. A complimentary, freshly baked baguette is served sliced with regular & spicy Chimichurri aioli . Tiramisu was a sweet, decadent finish to the meal. Alana , our server was perfectly helpful with suggestions on the menu.

The Malbec Salad was large enough to feed everyone in the Recoleta at sundown. Fresh Romaine, Radicchio, Goat Cheese crumbles, a hand carved Avocado fan (I'm a big fan of that), quartered Cucumber Coins, Frisee Lettuce, a sizable slice of toasted Bread, the large mound is mixed with a Caesar-ish Dressing and the whole pile is fresh, refreshing, tasty and a great dish to begin your dinner with. The Chicken arrives tender but with crisp edges, juicy and tasting like Chicken could and should taste. While the Chicken was definitely marinated it's hard to determine if it was brined first. No matter as it was spot on great. The Chicken Chef was not chicken and got it right. The Sauteed Spinach retained it's Spinach integrity and was fished out of the water while still slightly toothy. This is the third time that my gf and I have celebrated our anniversary here. It has also always been Frederic to wait on us each time. Not much to say but service has always been above and beyond for us and I love eating here. Alexanders is special for us because it's the time we spend the most eating what we like. Usually we order the A5 kagoshima special, but it was a 20oz which was way too big for us. We opted for a cut of the Miyazaki and Sanuki. They were absolutely delicious. When you've had as much A5 wagyu as you wanted, you know that the small cuts have to be insanely delicious to be meaningful. Every bite was extremely juicy and tasty. The salt plate is always one of the highlights of the night and each one makes the flavour of the meat pop out. Side dishes are also always perfect. They have my favourite mash and also some of the best wagyu fried rice I've ever had. Their bread plate is also the best appetizer, the three butters they bring out always taste fantastic. Alexanders is the go-to anniversary restaurant for a reason and it has always been with every dollar. I honestly wish I could eat here more often but it's always good to save it for a special occasion. Bonus points for Frederic remembering us and our usual orders. It's nice to have history with a place and being remembered. See you guys again!

The portions were decent and the ambiance was great with warm lighting, comfortable seating, and a refined atmosphere that made the evening feel special. We ordered the 18 ounce ribeye, the cod cioppino, and the mushrooms and bread as sides. Everything was generous in portion, but the ribeye was cooked a little too much for my liking and lacked the distinctive char/fragrance that usually accompanies steaks at steakhouses. The manager was nice enough to exchange the ribeye for us with one that was on the rarer side which I appreciated. That said, I really appreciated the thoughtful birthday dessert they surprised me with. It was a nice personal touch that helped round out the night. Overall, a solid steakhouse whose accompaniments outshine the steaks in my opinion.

I ordered a dozen empanadas for the take and bake option. I love the take and bake option because it is like having freshly baked empanadas in my own kitchen! I baked them per the directions on the website and it worked perfectly. The take out window was very convenient and online ordering was easy. World Empanadas has so many empanadas flavors to choose from. I tried a bunch of flavors and I liked all of them! My favorites were the Santa Fe chicken, breakfast, spinach, and the chile con carne. They all had amazing flavor. The order came with a big serving of chimichurri and that was a nice addition to the empanadas. World Empanadas also has breakfast burritos that I am interested in trying next time. Since I don't live close, this is my new stop when I'm going to Burbank airport. World of Empanadas is amazing and I highly recommend getting their empanadas!

I finally had the pleasure of trying World of Empanadas and I'm honestly so impressed…read more First of all, their horchata... SO good. Like genuinely one of the best horchata I've ever had, it was super creamy and flavorful but not overly sweet. I tried one of their desserts being their banana and Nutella empanada along with other savory empanadas. Everything was amazing. The Nutella + banana one was definitely a standout for me because they did not hold back at all. It was packed with chocolate and banana in every bite, which I loved because I'm a huge chocolate person. It didn't feel skimpy or dry at all, just super rich and satisfying! For the savory options, I tried the chile con carne, Santa Fe chicken, the breakfast, and the beef & potato. Every single one was delicious, seriously you cannot go wrong with any of them. BUT my favorite was for sure the Santa Fe chicken!! It had so much flavor and tasted really well-seasoned. You can tell everything is made with care. Their green chimichurri needs its own praise. I've tried a fair amount of chimichurris from different restaurants and grocery stores, but this one!!! This one is done perfectly. I can't describe the flavor to you, you just have to try it haha. It goes so well with any of the empanadas! Also, the empanadas came out HOT. Like actually steaming when I opened them, which made them that more enjoyable. Everything tasted really fresh. On top of that, the service was so sweet. The girls working there were really kind and welcoming, which just made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back because I'm already craving that horchata and Nutella banana empanada again!! Thank you so much for having me :)

I ordered an appetizer calamari for dinner the filet mignon med/rare- asparagus and brussel sprouts and a lemon drop for my drink. I felt my steak was over cooked but nonetheless it was delicious. Needless to say I was hungry so nothing else made it to take pictures. This is why I couldn't finish my steak. Overall wonderful experience as usual-

The one star is due to the attitude of a manager. We ordered the lobster mac n' cheese and unfortunately my husband bit into a sharp piece of lobster shell. We informed our server, who was very apologetic, and said he would send a manager over. The manager came over, and asked what happened, we informed him about the lobster shell in the mac n' cheese. The manager looked and my husband and coldly asked, "Well are you ok?" My husband said yes and then the manager walked away without an apology. He didn't offer to take the mac n' cheese off our bill. As we were leaving the manager James open the door for us asked how our experience was for dinner. We told him everything was great until the rude manager didn't offer an apology or comp the side dish. James apologized for the manager's rudeness and said he should have taken the mac n' cheese off our bill. I hoped James would have called and comped the side after the fact but he didn't. I'm glad he apologized for his rudeness of his manager and I hoped for a sensible resolution, but so far there's been nothing. I even responded to survey they emailed me after the dining experience and I still have not received a correspondence. I feel that the manager didn't take us seriously because we didn't have the usual look for the typical diners at this establishment. There's review from a month ago mentioning how they weren't putting people of color in the main dining room.
