Most of the meats were chewy and on the salty side. The highlights were the butter-bathed lobster tail and the fried plantains, which were both delicious. The Market Table didn't have many options that stood out. The Brazilian cheese bread, was so dry and lacked flavor. ::Dessert:: The molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream was my favorite part of the meal. It was warm, rich, and definitely worth ordering. ::Customer Service:: The service was the biggest disappointment. Based on the price point, I was hoping for attentive service, but everything we asked for took a long time. Our used plates sat on the table for a while before they were cleared, and we rarely saw our server. After our plates were removed, our utensils were taken too. We asked for forks so we could continue eating our plantains, but instead, another order of plantains was brought to the table. We ended up sitting there with two drinks, two plates of plantains, and no forks while we waited again. The most frustrating moment was when I asked for two straws. Nearly 20 minutes passed, so I asked again because I thought they had forgotten. Another server walked by and said, "Here, now you have more straws." I was confused until I noticed two straws had been placed in the corner of our small table without anyone saying anything. The comment felt unnecessary and only made an already frustrating situation more awkward. The bright spot was the management team. I came here with my friend to try the happy hour specials, especially the $10 burger. It did not disappoint. Happy hour is only available in the bar area, and our bartender, Kaelan, was very friendly. He even gave us some complimentary cheese rolls to start. We both ordered the burger with the regular fries instead of the yuca fries because my friend had tried the yuca fries before and didn't like them. We ordered our burgers medium, but they came out closer to medium-well. Kaelan offered to have the kitchen remake them, but we declined and just ate them as they were. This review if about the Happy Hour. For those of you who don't know, it's always happy hour at Fogo de Chao in the bar area. No kidding. All day, every day! Also, for those of you who don't know, they have the BEST happy hour burger deal you'll find anywhere. $10 for a big burger and fries. It would easily be over $20 anywhere else, and even the fast food chains would have a hard time beating a deal like this for a similarly sized burger and fries. I've been to the Beverly Hills location, and I like this one better. It's wide open, and the bar is off to the side but still in the restaurant. It's a great, classy vibe, but not at all pretentious. Of course, I had to do the burger deal. It's called the Picanha Burger. I ordered it medium, but it was served well-done. Pretty dry. The bun had been toasted too long, too, so it was also dry and crunchy. For $10, I didn't have the heart to send it back. My experience with steak houses is they tend to be on the side of undercooking more than overcooking. I guess the chef was a little heavy-handed, or his timer was on the fritz. Still, it was OK. It's huge. I could barely finish it, and I have a big appetite. They have other food items on the HH menu. Next time, I think I'll split a burger and get an additional food item off the HH menu. The place is really beautiful and the atmosphere is nice. The baseball game was on tv, so that was nice. Bar itself was nice but not super clean. Guy wiped it down but not well. Service was good, otherwise. Bar menu is a great value and mostly very good. Lobster and Shrimp tacos are served on a napa cabbage leaf and presentation is nice, but the filling is pretty skimpy. Empanadas were good but a chimichurri would have been WAY better than the mayo provided. Chicken Sliders are super tasty and the Short Rib Sliders were good but needed a better sauce. Once we got seated, I was worried that the food would take a while since there were so many tables, but the carvers were really good about coming by our table with the meats. Our server, Kelsey, was also amazing. She kept asking what else we needed and when we asked for specific meats, she made sure those carvers came to our table. Food: 5/5 Despite the busyness of the restaurant, the meats were hot and plentiful. The cheese bread was a table favorite, and our favorite cuts of meats were the picante, sausage, and bacon wrapped steak. The salad bar had a lot of great options like salad, fresh fruits, and charcuterie items too, but the staff couldn't stock it in time. We are so much and we're so full after after our meal. Ambiance: 5/5 This place with its high ceilings, beautiful bar, open kitchen rotisserie, and fresh fruit lined salad bar, it certainly feels like an upscale restaurant. One of the coolest thing about here is when you're waiting in line, they had waiters come out and give us samples of their meats. Price: 5/5 They are not publicly advertising this, but for the month of June they are doing Taste of Brazil which is $54 per person as opposed to their normal $79 per person. In addition to that, you can also purchase gift cards from Sam's Club that is $80 for $100. For our family of four, the total came out to less than $45 per person after tip and tax. Before I get into the meat selection, I brought some cheesy biscuits and chimichurri. The cheesy biscuits were incredibly addictive. I wanted a popcorn bucket full of them! The two best meats in my opinion were the spicy steak as well as the pork belly with honey lime. The spicy steak had this deep rich flavor that just exploded. The pork belly, the sweetness of the honey, a hint of lime flavor mixed with the fat was an incredible combination. There were so many others that I enjoyed. The Parmesan crust chicken, the pork chop and the prime cut that we got. Finally we got to dessert, on our table we tried the Creme brûlée, the Tres Leches and the chocolate brigadeiro. We made a reservation and was sat right away. Our server was Matheus. He was good when we were sat but was not very good at checking in on us. We also had to ask and follow up on chimichurri and other things as well because it was taking awhile to get what we asked for. Other than that the other servers were AMAZING. The ones serving the meats, and getting our plates out the way was very attentive. The food was so good, the meat was flavorful and not dry at all. My parents were addicted to the pork belly with lime and honey. I loved all the meats that I got and when we ordered desserts we got the molten lava cake, tres leches, and crème brûlée cheesecake. Beautiful space overall, the interior is really well done. The market table stood out the most for me, especially the Brazilian sides that paired nicely with the meats. The ribeye was our favorite, flavorful and satisfying, and the lamb was also enjoyable, not gamey at all. That said, the meats were a bit inconsistent. A lot of the cuts came out more on the medium well to well done side, and a few pieces were overly seasoned, leaning too salty and a little tough. I've only visited a few Fogo de Chao restaurants and Pasadena is my favorite. I love the architecture inside and the food is really good. My husband and I enjoyed a celebration on Sunday night and had a great experience. We each chose one meat cut with the salad bar and glass (or two) of a red wine blend. I'm very impressed with the selection of the salad bar and its variety of choices. My husband chose the sirloin cuts while I chose the lamb. Everything was delicious! Our servers Alessandro and Glen were very attentive and personable and took good care of us for the evening. We enjoyed our tres leches cake which took some time (and was on the house), but our servers kept us up to date when it would be served. HOW is the rating so high!? **Disappointing, Overpriced, and Poorly Executed** For the price, this restaurant feels more like an expensive cheap attempt at a classy buffet with poor service than a quality dining experience. We were essentially limited to two buffet items, and even after ordering steak, we never actually received one. We received pieces of it. The server wasn't well versed and rude! The mac and cheese was particularly disappointing, with crab that had a rubbery texture and taste. I'm still waiting on the cheese bread the server said he'd bring over. At this point, the meal was simply a waste of money, time, and food. To make matters worse, we were given two bills after the first one had already been taken to be charged. The entire experience was unnecessarily confusing and unprofessional.almost everyone seemed lost. The ambiance felt stuffy rather than welcoming, and overall, the restaurant lacked the level of class and attention to detail you would expect for the price. The menu needs serious attention, and the service needs improvement. If you will not provide a plate with an independent steak, I recommend you stick to your two buffet options. The one bright spot was Jaime, the one of many who were serving the meat. He was genuinely pleasant and a delight to interact with. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to save the experience. Our family has been going to this establishment for many years and honestly, the Pasadena Fogo de Chão, is one of our favorite locations to go to because they have such an attentive and professionally hard working team. We normally go for lunch to avoid the large crowds but this past Friday we ended up having to change our reservation because our 3 and 6 year old boys fell asleep in the car. Although we were concerned about the long wait, we were seated in a nice private area, as requested, and the Supervisor Jonathon and his team of Gauchos and Waiters did an amazing job of delivering on every single request we made. Our server Katrina was amazing at her first day of work. She went above and beyond to accommodate all of our needs. We did not, indeed, enjoy all you can eat. While our server, Marcel, was excellent (thank you for your wonderful service), the whole dining experience was very slow. It took a long time for each meat to come, and the first three rounds were garlic picanha. We were pretty frustrated waiting for each meat that we eventually gave up. From the best lamb chops anywhere, to fantastic, tender filet mignon, ribeye and sirloin, to a picanha any brasilero would be proud of. This location is a cut above. There's no denying the abundance -- you definitely get your money's worth in variety and volume. The salad bar was also nicely stocked, with plenty of greens, cheeses, and cold sides to balance things out. Our only real issue with the food was the salt level. After a few rounds, the seasoning started to feel heavy, especially on some of the beef cuts. It wasn't inedible, just noticeably salty by the end of the meal. Service felt stretched. Our servers were polite, but with how busy Saturday night was, we had long stretches without check-ins. Drink refills didn't happen unless we flagged someone down, which broke up the rhythm of dinner a bit. Nothing rude or dismissive -- just clearly a team trying to keep up with a packed house. We celebrated my brother's birthday at Fogo De Chao in Pasadena. It was massive. They have an older building in Pasadena. The architecture and design was so beautiful. I love how they kept that Pasadena Charm! We went during brunch time so it was $57 pp or $77 pp if you wanted the Indulgent Churrasco option. Lunch would be $55 or $75 pp and Dinner is $78 or $98 pp. They also have a Happy Hour option if you don't want to do the Churrasco experience and save a little money. The Churrasco experience in Pasadena is great. Meats were constantly coming and it was always fresh. The service was amazing. They were so attentive and kind. We came here to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday, hoping for a memorable experience. Unfortunately, while the food was decent, the service completely overshadowed the evening. Toward the end of our meal, it honestly felt like we had been forgotten. I'm not sure if we had a server assigned to our table or if we were simply ignored once everyone was seated. We waited about 30 minutes before anyone came with the second round of meat, and when we requested specific cuts--like the picanha--we waited another 30 minutes. To make matters worse, one of the cuts we were served was overcooked. The only reason I'm giving more than one star is because there was one meat server who consistently made an effort to stop by our table and make sure we were served. Without him, this easily would have been a one-star experience. The waits throughout the evening were excessive. We ended up spending almost four hours there, not because we wanted to or eating a lot, but because we spent so much time waiting. Instead of having someone regularly checking on us, we had to flag down whoever happened to walk by just to get what we needed. The problems continued with dessert. We waited another 30 minutes, and one of our friends had to leave before her dessert ever arrived. To make matters worse, they brought the wrong dessert we ordered for our celebrant, and we had to wait another 15-20 minutes while they prepared the correct one before they could finally come back so we could sing "Happy Birthday." By that point, what should have been a special moment had lost much of its excitement. Even after we finished everything, no one came to check on us or bring the bill. We waited so long that we honestly joked we could have walked out and no one would have noticed. That's how invisible we felt. All of us work in the medical field, so we understand how important attentive service is, even on busy days. By the end of the night, we were calling ourselves "the neglected table." Some of our friends had never been here before, and they jokingly said maybe all the staff are in the back eating the birthday dessert they accidentally made for our friend. While it was said in jest, that's how neglected and frustrated we felt. What made the experience even more disappointing was the cost for the service. we expected attentive service and a smooth dining experience, especially for such a special occasion. For a restaurant of this caliber, this was not the level of service we expected. A special 50th birthday celebration turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience. We have been frequenting this location due to its super cleanliness, amazing food, and friendly staff. We were there on Friday for lunch. Luis, our server kept frequently checking if we need anything. Then, we were approached by Lucas who wanted to make sure that all is good. Between Luis and Lucas we had it made! Water was refilled and plates were changed. Lucas discovered that we were celebrating our 54th anniversary. We were treated to a yummy dessert. Even the manger on duty came to the table to congratulate us. We were humbled. Our sincere thanks go to the Fago De Chao staff, who made our special day memorable. read more
