I went in to have my driver shaft replaced and mentioned that I was looking for a 3 hybrid. After asking me some questions about my game, Nolan handed me a previously owned Ping, which I tried and was reasonably happy with. After watching my swing in his simulator, he took the club and changed the shaft. The difference was noticeable! I purchased the hybrid and it has become a game changer for me. Thanks Nolan! I was visiting my family in the Phoenix area and I was pointed to AGW to find a custom shaft for a new wedge I thought I needed to buy, as I was having a difficult time with gapping in my new set of Mizuno's. After talking with Billy and the guys they offered to go through my entire set and check loft, lie and swing weight. Interestingly, they needed some pretty big adjustments. They did it all while I waited and explained every step of the process for each club in the bag. It honestly felt like I was a regular and like I'd been going there for years. Brought in my broken Ping G20 driver, shaft inexplicably snapped in back of car. Had a tee time the next day. They carefully measured the face to confirm it was in primo condition. They had the perfect shaft in stock. The club was ready early the next morning. I used it that day and it was better than new. Saved me $200 vs new club. I stopped by on a Saturday and worked with Chris. I havent golfed in nearly 20 years and let him know that I wasnt buying the same day. What happened next is why these guys have such a stellar reputation. Chris spent the next two hours fitting me across the entire spectrum of clubs. He made recommendations, and most importantly he made recommendations that fit me instead of what fits him. It's a breathe of fresh air to meet someone in retail who doesn't have their own agenda. STOP. This is really important. Arizona Golf Works is the ONLY place a golfer should go for advice, equipment and stories. I stopped by a couple of weeks ago to have my driver re-gripped. Took 30 minutes because I kept asking Steve all kinds of questions. Yesterday, same thing with my sand wedge. This time Bryce re-gripped my club and another 30 minutes of asking questions about everything from bounce grind to ball softness to photos of Phil Mickelson when he used to work in the shop. Some of you might remember a store, a restaurant, a teacher that really left an impression. Someplace or someone you immediately felt comfortable around. Arizona Golf Works is THAT kind of place. SO. Arizona Golf Works is the best consignment shop in the city and I stop by every chance I get just to see what may have walked in the door! I am a "golf junkie" and am constantly trying different clubs. By buying someones used club and then consigning your own, you can often end up with what you want without a big investment. They also have a great repair shop and Kim has been repairing golf clubs since golfers were using "mashie niblicks"! The shop does carry a few lines of new clubs, but their big inventory is used clubs and they literally have thousands of them! A lot of their used clubs are current models that were used a could of times and just didn't work out for the consignee; there are some great buys!! No mask requirements. I bought clubs 2 years ago and I went back today for grip refitting and to get another club. Bryce wasn't even paying attention when I asked questions about clubs. Too interested in the Golf channel. Didn't even take the time to explain different clubs and grips. Then after buying a club he didn't even offer a club protector. I had to go back in and request one. Do not go here if you want actual recommendations and personalized service. He is just a stuffed shirt. They do repairs, re-grips, buy/sell used clubs, as well as sell new clubs. Their service is great and they don't make you feel dumb if you're a beginner or not great at golf. My boyfriend and I are both new to the game, so we stopped by to get some advice on the clubs we should start with to learn the game - we were so happy with our experience here. From the second we walked in, we were welcomed in by Steve, who was very enthusiastic about helping us out. He not only gave us a general walk through the store, but took his time to find exactly what was the perfect fit for us personally. He was extremely attentive and patient. He took a full hour of helping us try out different clubs, work on our swings and what feels comfortable, and finding us a great deal that fits into our budget as well. My visit to AZ Golf Works in Tempe yesterday compelled me to join Yelp and write a review. The moment my wife and I walked in the shop, we were greeted by both guys at the counter and Steve asked how he can assist us. My wife is brand new to the game and a left handed. She had swung my right hand clubs a few times for fun and said that felt OK as well, but I was really unsure. Discussed this with Steve and within a few minutes he had selected left and right hand irons for her to try. Not only that, when my wife looked to him and said "I'm really not sure how to hold and swing a golf club", his PGA and teaching experience kicked right in and within a few minutes had her making good contact. Absolutely no pressure and he made my apprehensive wife very at ease! His priority was honestly about helping figure out which swing orientation was going to work best. With left hand clubs appearing to be the best choice, he simply said they did not presently have any womens left hand sets available and spent more time explaining what to look for and why we shouldn't settle for mens clubs. Then it was on to my interest in updating my GBB driver which I've been holding onto like a kids blankie. After watching and measuring my swing speed and discussing my general striking tendincies, Steve selected a used Titlest D915 and a Callaway Razr for me to tryout. I opted to take them over to the local Karsten range and hit along with my GBB. Upon returning to the shop, I told him I really liked the Razr but that the length was about 1 inch longer than standard. He said no problem, we can cut that down to standard length and put a new grip on. So I picked up a new technology/used driver in great shape, that I hit well, complete with a new Callaway grip and headcover for $50.00. We also found a womens right handed golf glove which we had not been able to find in Yuma. This Arizona Golf Works store and Steve are top notch! All buying experiences should be this great. As an avid golfer and habitual tinkerer this place is tops in the valley. Todd is the man, very knowledgeable and undertands the meaning of good service. Prices for product (balls, clubs, gloves you name it) and repair work is fair and equitable. As someone that goes through and tries a lot of clubs and new equipment, AZ Golf Works' consignment program is a nice feature as well. I can sell my old equipment at their store for a small fee. I live 30 minutes away and have access to atleast 3 other golf stores within 10 minutes of my house, but always choose to conduct my business with AZ Golf Works. read more

Customers are not treated honestly. I witnessed this: Owner called a customer on a $100 consignment and got them to agree to a $75 sale price. Owner wrote $75 on the consignment card but told the buying customer $90. So the store pocketed the extra $15. I will never spend another dime in this store or sell anything through them. read more

Great deals on used clubs. Although i have not been custom fit for clubs there they do offer that as well as club repairs. The price for re-gripping was a bit higher than some other places but only by about a dollar per club read more

I had a an old favorite Slotline FS1 putter. The lead counterweights had come loose and were beginning to rattle on impact. The repair person worked most of the night repouring replacement lead and made it look and handle like brand new. He charged me only $36.00 for all the work! These guys are fantastic! read more
