I've been going to LoryLynn at Baseline & Gilbert for 18 years with the exception of a few times when I cheated on her and went elsewhere. That won't happen again. Recently I wanted to do something with my flat lifeless hair. Had Lorylynn cut several inches off, layered it and it came out so cute (for this old broad at least) and once my hair air dried, I now have body again!!! New Senior Client~ From Hair Arizona website I picked the photo of Keri & called--my request 1) consultation for short hair from current long hair style. I was looking for a 2) stylist who works with seniors 3) they successfully provide accommodating time for a senior moving a bit slow and needing a little extra help. 4) eyebrow waxing. Keri took my appointment request then stated if I was not on time, more than 10 late my appointment would be cancelled. I was taking it aback by that news. Kind of befuddled I said okay fine. Day before I received a text alert that I had a 30 minute appointment. I did not see how steps one through four could be completed in 30 minutes. I requested more time. So I called, Keri answered & told me that she had 20+ years experience & knew what she was doing & 30 minutes is her standard time window. (Oh I forgot to mention I also wanted my eyebrows waxed) I was expecting at least a 45 minute appointment maybe longer. She told me that was not possible, remember that if I was 10 minutes late my appointment would be cancelled. Period. I again stated my senior needs, she again stated her appointment standard, stating it was rigid amount of time and due to her 20+ years experience she knew what she was doing. 24 hours later I unhappy with her 10 minute late penalty! Michelle is nothing short of fantastical! I spent about 20 years either getting very uneven cuts at random salons or just cutting my own the best I could which was better than most of the randoms. I hadn't had a good haircut since M.J. who worked at this location back then. No idea why I went on a mission elsewhere to try and find another stylist like M.J. when they had Michelle this whole time that I missed out on! She's been doing hair so long she can probably do it all in her sleep but it's how she knew exactly what to do with my fine, curly hair being the cherry on top! Went in to get a perm. This is my second one with the same location first one was great had no complaints. The stylist was not available so I had to have someone else do it this time. My hair came out fine but when I left there, I still smelt like perm chemicals. My car smelled like perm chemicals. My entire shirt was soaked in the back from chemicals. I didn't even wanna sit in my car seat for fear was gonna get so soaked with the chemicals. I wouldn't get it out. She should've taken more care. Change the towels or something to make sure that I did not come home smelling like perm chemicals. I was disappointed in the care that was taken. read more

They exaggerate ohh all the products they use for you. And charged me $200.00! Wow! I've finally met a stylist that listens to what I want and delivers it. My hair was a wreck after multiple disasters trying to get the "right" blonde at other salons and at home -but Stephanie took my hair to the colors I wanted. She told me how to keep my hair bright and cool toned until our touch up visit. Today I came for my second visit- she did a fantastic job getting my hair brightened by adding blonde highlights in foils on top and a perfect toning. I went in on a Saturday to get my hair done for my upcoming wedding! Unfortunately, I don't have any good before photos, but I've attached photos of what my hair looked like when Stephanie was finished with it and what it looks like now that I've had a chance to wash it and see it with my natural curly hair. I'm incredibly happy with how my hair turned out, and how healthy it is compared to before. My hair isn't falling out all over the place any more! I walked in due to I could not take the bad haircut I got 6 months earlier that cost me a lot and had been trying to let it grow out. The cut was so bad that I could not make it look good no matter what I did to it. The lady that cut it kept blaming on the type of hair I had and suggested expensive shampoos and conditioners which didn't work. Not my favorite. Stopped in for a quick cut while I was in town visiting family. I waited for a while at the front and it seemed like no one wanted to help me or acknowledge I was even there. I should have turned around and walked out but I wanted a haircut without paying an arm and a leg... I should have left and paid an arm and a leg somewhere else. I left with a terrible hair cut that needed fixing and It was so horrible I ended up wearing my hair up just to hide it until I could get it cut proper. I have wavy hair so if they layers are not cut right it sits like a triangle or Christmas tree on my shoulders. We don't live in the 80's anymore people! Spent 4 hours and 187 dollars getting color, and a cut. Let's just say it's the worst experience I've ever had in a "salon". The color looks ok but it doesn't matter since the cut itself is horrific. My bangs are so short it's sticking out from my forehead. I don't know what she did; however, now my hair is frizzy and difficult to manage when prior to coming here I didn't have this problem. My hair is uneven everywhere and will go elsewhere to get it fixed. The dye is still on and around my face and difficult to remove. Looks like a have a dark ring framing my face. I would give no stars except for the fact that she seemed very nice and is fairly new in the business. If you don't really know how to cut hair you shouldn't be in this profession or definitely practice more. I am willing to pay for a good cut and color but it's not even close. I repeatedly asked for balayage color and she would answer that is was ombré and they were the same thing. I even told her I thought we were miscommunicating and just cover the gray. She insisted she could do it. I wanted streaks starting near the top of the ear going down. I told her less is more. I said not orangey. She did all the bottom and it's orange. I know my hair is not long and luxurious as the sample pic but come on. I thought maybe it's not too bad but when I got home and took a closer look I was in tears. I paid $168 plus $20 tip. I can't believe she let me leave the salon looking like this. I have never written on Yelp before, ever. *WTF, I recently had my hair highlighted by Stephanie, a Manager! I had several medical mishaps that over took my time. I didn't come in sooner to have it fixed. There was one side had more highlights than the other and Under the back there was a good side+-and absolutely nothing on the other side! This was supposed to be a full head.So I went back and "had it fixed" the result was more uniform? She blew it out and styled it. I thought gee, my hair didn't look "puffy" even after the round brush!! the BUT, when I washed and styled it the next day, HOWEVER, I washed & styled the hair my way, I noticed it felt thinner right during my shampooing process. I sometimes I put a clip in the back of my head It had less volume, all of the hair fit into 1 clip. I needed 2 clips before to hold back the hair now, just one!!! *WTF! SO now when my hair grows back in, there will be strayers all over my head that will be sticking up like a porcupine!! It is a slow process to grow it back out!! ****$$ Unacceptable! So Stephanie received a $20 tip first time and a $15 tip the second time. I paid $125 total! I have had allot of hIghlights over the years( Fredrick Fakki on 5th Ave, New York City) and everywhere else and in between. Stephanie was a disaster to in terms of coloring my hair. She was however , very a nice person and has many talents that I haven't seen yet. I am too old to throw a hissy fit but I hope my review on Yelp will say fathoms ! It better! One I had previously request from another salon and did get get the results i was expecting. It had been a year and a half and I wad ready to try again.
