aOn May 27th, I came into this salon to get a perm.My hairdresser, Angela was really delightful, and we had good conversation.I was telling her how my hair is very stubborn, and thick and sometimes it needs a smaller roller. We both decided that the smaller roller would perhaps be too tight. My hair never has a problem taking a perm, but it did now. I waited to the 30th at night to shampoo. By June second, my perm was not really there. This is very sad for me, because I like the body of a perm growing my hair out back to my bottom. I spent $177.00 plus tip. I did call the salon and they asked me to come in to see if they could redo it, I guess. They sent me a text, and I accidentally missed that appointment. I did happen to walk in on June 4th, to see what could be done. My hairdresser was busy with another client, but she stopped for a moment to ask what happened to my perm. That super sad, because you get what you pay for, although I didn't get. I'm not holding this against my hairdresser because she didn't know. I'm just sad that I don't have a perm. Now it's at the point, if I was to come in to get it redone, I'm embarrassed. I'm strong enough to handle most things. But unfortunately I won't be back. read more

Worst haircut of my life. I wanted a layered haircut and stylist talked me out of it. I had hair that was about halfway down my back and I just wanted layers. She talked me out of it. Said she was going to some bob cut which I should have said NO. I look like a little dutch boy. I am not sure what kind of cut this is. She just did three cuts. Back and each side. I lost about 6 inches off the back and the sides are awful. Only took like 2 minutes. She kept saying to do a some kind of blowout when I got home. My hair is fine and straight. It just lays there. I know it will grow out however I will have to look terrible for the next 4 months. I literally can do nothing with this terrible cut. While not overtly unpleasant, Candy did nothing to make me feel welcome, not even a smile. When I walked to the shampoo station she redirected me to her chair. After a 30 second consultation, directed me back to the shampoo station and performed a perfunctory shampoo and conditioner. While she was cutting my hair; she seemed to be playing a game with herself to see how many times she could smack my scalp with her comb while she sectioned & cut my hair. It was a layered cut so the answer was many, many times. She announced she was "all done" without offering to blow dry my hair. I've had her blow out my hair which is extremely curly and she can make it so straight. But she can also style it curly and I get so many compliments. I just moved here 6 months ago from NYC and actually the nail salons out here are horrible and expensive believe it or not by NYC prices, and we tried a few before we found one that actually could do the dip well, so I'm nervous about hair salons. I needed a haircut had an interview coming up, I see all the references on FB and the prices are high. I took a chance and stopped in here, showed Candy 2 pictures of what i wanted done, I cut about 7 inches off my hair the price was so inexpensive to what i am used to paying and let me tell you this is the best haircut i have ever gotten!! Usually i have to wait a few weeks to grow in to manage or get used to it but loved it right away. I washed it and styled it and came out the same as when she did it. You can definitely tell when someone has good hands with scissors. Totally recommend, and they are open 7 days a week. I will definitely be going back. read more

We've been to a AZ Co. Before at a different and honest location in Tempe. This place on Baseline, represents low morale and low care to the customer. I paid $180 with no complaints. My mother was very excited about having her hair done finally and she had picked an easy color. We walked in and they stated they would be able to accommodate but a job that was to be for her full hair, taking at least an hour or more, took max 30-40 minutes including a cut and all that was dyed was my mother's 30-40 grey hairs around the frame of her face. No other color but foils in that same area. It was disgusting, disappointing and a shame. How does anyone feel ok about this kind of work?! I hope you get better at customer service and stop taking people's money. We do work hard for ours! There was a customer who also went back in for a redo. Worst place to get your hair colored!!! I asked for a bluish purple hair color like the one on the picture and i ended with fkn red hair how the hell can you tell me that you cant get it to that color, when ive has it that color before!! about 3yrs ago i had it all purple i let my whole hair grow out and was like hmmm want purple hair NOT RED!!! Also they are so unprofessional! My sister was with me and she hear the hair dreasers talking so much shit!! One of the ladies said did she leave a tip (a lady who had just gotten her hair cut) and the other hair dresser said no, and the lady said well thats why i left her hair the way it is . Like what the fuck, thats so rude shouldnt you. want to leave a hair beautiful so you can get more people all the people leaving nice comments i wish you knew the shit they talk about you after you leave! Words you never want to hear after a haircut... "I did it on a mannequin and it worked." I got two kids haircuts today and both were cut so horribly. I asked for a second opinion because I didn't want the two new hairstylists doing anymore damage. Luckily a third woman corrected the hair as best she could. All in all it was terrible: no one apologized, no one gave us a heads up there were newbies cutting hair and no one checked-in on the new hairstylists. This 3rd woman who corrected the hairstylists work tried to tell these newbies what they did wrong but these newbies did not listen, they became defensive and talked about how it worked for them before "on a mannequin". Very sad to see such disregard for the customer. read more

I have never had a bad cut here. I always leave very pleased with my hair. That being said, Dani is the standout here. I got a great cut from her months back and then another yesterday. Both were exactly what I asked for, plus a few suggestions from Dani which ended up being dead-on to what I was looking for. An adult cut is $28 and you can book online (love that feature). Would not recommend this salon. Uneven and botched root touch-up and tone. Asked for platinum blonde and received yellow bleached hair with a line of grey across the crown of my head. Did not properly bleach my roots so I have 2 spots of brown hair on the front sides of my face - making it look like there is dirt on my forehead. Seemed like my stylist was more interested in client drama than actually paying attention to my hair. Extremely disappointed and embarrassed of how my hair looks. My stylist tried to fix my hair afterwards and it did not work at all. I did not trust her to try again after the second attempt - would rather go somewhere else and get out of the salon as quick as possible after spending 2hrs there. I took in my daughter for a haircut. I asked Marcy to trim her bangs to above her eyebrow and showed her where to cut and also told her how short to cut the rest of her hair. Marcy cut my daughters bangs to the middle of her forehead and they were completely uneven. The rest of her hair is all different lengths and uneven. Luckily her hair will grow out, but it will take at least one month to get it to the length we had desired. The manager Michele was helpful and offered to fix it, but at that point I just didn't want anyone else to touch my daughter's hair. Holy wow!!! Thank goodness for Marci!! She is seriously a goddess. I had beyond damaged half blonde half red that was literally breaking from all the bleach as I was trying to get rid of black. I came in with hair that as my mom said "looks like a Barbie at the bottom of the toy bin." And Marci cut it all off in such an amazing FASHIONABLE way that I've actually had strangers come up to me and compliment my hair. I might keep it this short forever honestly. I went in with my mom because she needed roots colored and a cut and blow dry I came for a cut deep conditioning and blow dry. Well the cut was ok she didn't take off to much but I didn't really get my layers trimmed how I like. Not sure what products are used but they don't feel high end. During my cut I asked candy my stylist if she was going to do the deep conditioning before or after she cut my hair and she basically told me I can do it at home myself because first I needed to clarify it. So she unsold me on a treatment I was scheduled for and a treatment I could have been scheduled for I didn't even argue I felt like she didn't want to do it and I don't want somebody working on me who doesn't want to. The blow dry was ridiculous it wasn't an actual blowout she didn't put any good product on my hair while blow drying it and it was still partly wet and not styled when I left there. I was watching it across the room the mail stylist do my mothers hair and he was just fumbling with the blow dryer at one point she was drying her own bangs my poor mother look like she walked out from the heat being all sweaty. Her hair was not styled at all and the cut was uneven. My hair usually feels silky and soft after a blow dry and cut butt it was not feeling like that at least not as good as the woman who used to cut my hair out of her house. I'm going to have to reschedule at a different salon so my mom can get her hair fixed. I can't imagine if we had plans to go to dinner or if I had a date or something our hair does not stand up to that I could've done all of this myself I mean even the stylist told me I could do the deep conditioning and clarifying myself so... Why should I come back here? I can't say enough how badly I feel for my mom. The color wasn't even washed out all the way he only shampooed it once and did not put conditioner on it that completely baffles me. We were looking for a new salon to be regulars at and this seems like a decent choice until we actually had our services I probably wouldn't even bring my 11 year old daughter here. My son as well...Definitely won't skip going to an actual barber to risk this experience. Now the stylist could argue that my hair is very damaged and that's why it doesn't feel this way after the blow dry but that is not true my hair has been like this for a while and I was getting it cut out of a friends home who just happen to have a chair and shampoo bowl and that $20 cut and blow dry was 100 times better then walking out of the salon.I don't really want to leave this review because times are tough and people need business but I also need to let people know. I should have listened to the negative reviews instead of the positive ones I'm pretty sure the positive ones were specific stylists. I still can't believe my poor mom walked out of there with half wet hair I mean I watched him dry the top first and then move it out-of-the-way without a clip and try drying the underneath like that just fumbling all around with the blow dryer if you have to end up drying your own bangs you're in the wrong salon. This was my mom's first time visiting a salon in Arizona. She just lost her dad and had to move out here with me her daughter and all she wanted to make herself feel better was her hair to be how she likes it she can't even really wash it herself right now because she's waiting to have major shoulder replacement surgery. When I saw her crying about her hair that she just had done I could not leave a review. I'll probably have her leave her own review as well. This place was really confusing. I tried finding an email to get this complaint handled but apparently one does not exist. I just want to state I am very upset with the pricing. I called and spoke to the receptionist who said a partial starts at $68 and I stated I didn't want chuncky highlights and she said they do very fine, natural ones and I said okay and booked the appt. My appt comes and the stylist says after a consult it'll be 150-200 for a partial and I said how many bowls of bleach to you expect to mix for a tiny partial highlight!?! I was shocked so we changed it to a tweave, I still ended up paying over $120 for a few foils in my Mohawk section, let alone I left without a toner or blow dry because I was told that was all extra which the receptionist had not stated. I am so disappointed in the cost and miscommunication And at this point would like a refund or something to be done. thank you read more

I went in initially for a consultation with Lori Lynn to talk about a perm. I wanted to express some concerns I had about breakage and make sure she felt comfortable doing perms. She was very nice and told me she has been doing perms for 30 years and guaranteed I wouldn't have breakage. I went for my perm appointment a few days later and it definitely felt like she was in a hurry. The salon closed at five and my appointment was at 245pm. She wrapped my hair very quickly and in turn there was a lot of tugging and pulling during the entire process (I believe this is why there was so much breakage) but she was done start to finish by 530pm. I asked what I should buy for my hair and she only recommended Roux, which I bought, paid my bill and tipped 30%. Well, when I washed my hair a couple of days later I was felt a weird spot on top of my head. I scheduled a trim bc she said she would do one after my perm and never did, probably the time issue. When she asked what side do I part, I explained I had a spot on my left side that had breakage and I wanted to avoid that area, she switched sides and asked no questions. I didn't put two and two together until a week later when I discovered numerous spots where there was breakage, from the front of my head, the sides and back to the crown area. I was pretty devastated to say the least so I called and explained that there were so many areas with breakage. The only thing she offered was deep conditioning, I explained that I didn't understand how that was going to fix the problem and she didn't have a response either. Not once did she ask me to come in so she could take a look at the issue, she informed me people lose hair on their hair (up to 80 hairs) everyday and it grows back just fine. She also tried to blame it on not using name brand products) which I do already. She asked what I wanted and I explained that I should be compensated in some way considering it's going to take many, many months for my hair to grow back and I will have to style according to the areas missing hair. She said she needed to get back to a client and would call me back and that was a couple of weeks ago. I don't feel it's good for business to have a unhappy customer and not even bother returning the call you said you would. I am VERY disappointed with the breakage from my perm and won't use Lori Lynn again. I thought I did my homework doing a consultation but it wasn't enough. So BEWARE!!! Just bc someone has 30 plus years experience, you can still get a bad perm!! read more

Went in here for the first time yesterday very nervous because this place was new and I have already had bad experiences with my hair being done incorrectly from the way I described it. I called to make an appointment and had no idea who my stylist would be until I got there, I mentioned I was looking to change my look completely for the fall. Candy T walks in and take me within minutes of arrival and from the minute I told her what I wanted she seemed very confident in producing that for me. She gave me some of her own ideas and I decided to give it a go. I went from blonde highlights to a vibrant red and brown and I LOVE IT. She took her time to make it perfect and made me feel comfortable the whole time. She also delivered on my haircut I asked for my length to be kept the same and she did that but also gave my hair more volume and bangs. WOW, close this place before everyone in the area looks like crap! I took my daughter as a treat as I am new to AZ. She wanted a deep condition, trim and blow dry. I needed a root touch up, cut and blow dry. Neither of us got even near what we wanted. I came home in tears after having to blow dry my own hair. My daughter was refused her condition treatment and came home with damp hair! It took the only male person, I can't call him a stylist because he didn't know anything. It took him about an hour or more just to put color on my roots, when he washed it out only one shampoo very sloppy and no conditioner. When he cut my hair he didn't cut length but only layers then he couldn't even use a blow dryer and I looked much worse coming out then going in!! These people make us real stylists look very bad. This place gets a firm "F" also very overpriced for not getting what you wanted seriously don't go here!!!! read more

Today I asked if I could dry my daughter's hair so she could go nextdoor and play games without getting cold. Marci was gracious enough to ablige me and handed me the blow dryer. Then another employee got upset about it and Marci took over. She towel dried it as best she could. I felt a little weird that it was an issue. Literally the worst haircut I have ever had. I asked for a trim of my length and front bangs and I should have listened to my gut in the first 3 minutes screaming at me to stop her. SHE LITERALLY ASKED ME HOW THEY NORMALLY HOLD MY BANGS TO CUT THEM. I replied in disbelief, "I am not a cosmetologist..." Should have run for the hills. Instead I tried to have faith and powered through. That was my bad. As she narrated EVERY step she made, trying to build herself up as if she knew what she was doing, my fear just grew, and now my bangs are too short, too blunt, not blended in to the rest of my hair... I asked her to cut my bangs rounded to my face shape. So she cut them bluntly, horizontally, too far to my ears. Then told me the bluntness was "Just how they're gonna lay dry". Um, ok, I've had bangs for a year now. I might not be a cosmetologist but I know a good cut when I see one. So I kindly asked her if she could blend the blunt bang to my length. NOW I have these super long sideburns for my face framing pieces. I asked if she could make the length in the back more of a U shape. and she told me that I had less hair on one side so that was just how it was and she couldn't do anything about it. I literally left feeling like a boiled and peeled potato. Some crossbreed of a bowl cut and mullet. Oh, and did I mention that she doesn't shave her underarms? Girl, you do you, but if it's poking out from under your normal T-shirt, you should probably wear one with longer sleeves, for your client's sake!!! Literally the bush was in my face the entire time she cut. She dismissed my wishes, gave me a wonky haircut, and tried to gaslight me. It is HER JOB to ask me what I want, and make me feel like I got it by the end. Someone needs to go back to cosmetology school AND get trained on how to talk to clients. You know who you are. Been here three times. Twice for a cut and once for a color. I have short hair, it's a edgy hair style. I sat in the chair of the stylist who has short hair. This is the second time she's cut my hair. I gave her another chance, it was the wrong thing to do. I purposely did not cut my hair for almost 3 months. I am trying to grow my hair out from a pixie cut. I explained to the stylist what I was doing. I specifically instructed her to point cut my hair, not to cut too much off and to clean me up in the back. What does she do? The total opposite- she took the thinning shears and went Edward Scissorshands on my hair. The cut was uneven and horrible. There was no style to it. I could not go back because this would be the second time the manager would have to "try" to fix my hair. So I ended up going to another shop. The stylist there did the best she could to fix the cut. Rather than growing my hair out, she had to cut more off to fix my hair. I should have known better not to go to Arizona Hair Co.. Not everyone can cut a inverted bob-cut, a a-line cut, pixie cut or a asymmetrical cut. Never again. read more

She fixed my bad haircut I got last month and made it even and beautifully layered . She even walked next door to sprouts and bought me a water . I even just told her I thought we were miscommunicating and just cover the gray. She insisted she could do it. I wanted streaks starting near the top of the ear going down. I said not orangey.
