I went into the salon with my hair 3 different colors asking them to bleach it all blonde. Katie was my stylist and she quoted me with a really reasonable price and got to work. I told them I needed it done before my baby shower this weekend and it came out so good. Katie stayed way after close assuring my hair looked good. Not sure how she managed to get my hair to look so good and come together well, given what she was working with! I left with so much confidence in my hair and for a decent price. I cam here for a balayage, they did a good job however price was pretty steep. The color turned out exactly as I wanted. However, the staff there was rude. I have been to Katie a few times now at AZ Hair Co, she always does such a fantastic job. It's a quiet vibe in there, very comfortable and sometimes the haircut is so soothing I feel like I could fall asleep lol. My hair grows like crazy and I try to get it trimmed every few months to keep up with the growth, which can add up, but the price for a haircut is so affordable that I don't feel bad about regular trims. I will honestly never go back to the salons in Scottsdale for simple trims because they're overpriced for no reason other than the location. Still haven't tried out a color here yet, but I've seen other women getting their hair colored and it always turns out great. I've definitely found my forever salon! read more

Called just to make sure my online booking came through correctly and to confirm the time was ok and I can honestly say that Heather was one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to on the phone. She spoke over me and said that the booking was invalid because they didn't have anyone available at 5 for color and cut. I tried to explain to her that my booking wasn't even for 5 (not sure where she came up with that) and she replied "oh- well no one can do color today." If that is the case fine but wow I have never left a phone call so taken back by someone's horrible customer service. read more

Moved to Phoenix last year and didn't have a clue where to get my haircut after 11 mo. without one. I frequent the restaurants in the same center so I looked up some reviews for this location of Arizona Hair Co. and made an appt. with Topaz based on some very nice reviews on Yelp. When I called to make my appt. the receptionist was upbeat, professional and efficient. I'm a past hair salon receptionist so I very much appreciated her! Topaz was warm and friendly. I really enjoyed meeting her even though we both had masks on! I am thrilled with my cut and went shorter than my hair has ever been in the last 25 years but it is a great cut and so easy to style. Unfortunately I will not be going here anymore. I don't know if it's just the company or something. I went to the Cactus location and they were rude so I started going to the Bell one and I can't decide which is worst. Which is unfortunate because everyone cuts hair great BUT they seem like they are bothered when someone comes in or that you are an inconvenience. I have brought my mom twice and both times she asks why I still go here. I brought my little sister to just get a bang trim and I wasn't able to add on a trim to the online service so I asked the lady if I can add that and she said well online you only asked for a bang trim. I understood but she is 6 she does not have much hair. I wanted to sit next to her since no one was right there and she said no. I am never once rude to any of the stylists and I tip generously. I got my hair done last Wednesday I told the stylist I had used overtone in my hair but because it was washed out she didn't think it would be a problem with the highlights. After processing they came out a brassy pink color from the overtone and she did a rose gold toner which made my hair look orange and brassy. She offered for me to come back if I decide I want to change them in the future but after getting home and washing and styling it I do not trust her to do any color corrections. My hair is very choppy and there is about a 2 inch chunk that is missing from the bottom left side. I called today to ask for a refund and the manager wouldn't talk to me and used the receptionist as her gate keeper passing messages back and fourth. They would not refund only offered for me to go back in, but with such poor quality the first time I don't trust the salon to fix it as it will only have to get shorter and shorter. I would have considered it but the lack of professionalism from the manager and not taking ownership of the issue by refusing to speak to me it solidified my stance on needing a refund not a second chance. I'm calling my bank to dispute the charges. I recommend avoiding this salon. read more

I wish I didn't have to write this but I feel it's necessary. I felt like the haircut I received was rushed, sloppy, and just being in the salon was an inconvenience to the staff. After my hair had dried when I got home, it was evident that my feelings were correct. The left side was a good amount longer than the right, and all the ends had been cut flat, or blunt I guess. It just looks bad and I've had multiple parties confirm that it looks awkward. I 'm going to have a friend do their best to trim up the areas where it looks the worst. So disappointed in this chain, will never be coming here again. I scheduled here to get a specific color service done, when I called I specifically asked if I would be able to bring in my own color product. The person that I was talking to asked me what product it was, I explained it, and she said "sure we can do that."Showed up for my appt, was told by the stylist I'd have to ask the manager. Manager walks over & says absolutely not and questioned me about who I spoke to when I booked. I explained this service was booked to get my hair colored evenly in preparation for my wedding & that it was going to not only inconvenience me greatly to not have the service completed, but that it was going to cause me quite a bit of stress to book another appt elsewhere due to the tight schedule I have leading up to the wedding. She said no. I was so upset all I opted to get was a trim instead of the wash/color/condition/cut/blow dry & style service that I had originally booked. At the very least, good customer service & showing appreciation for my business would have been to offer me a color consultation with the product they have there, but neither one of them even mentioned it. Then to make it worse, the manager walked back over to her client & proceeded to talk about weddings & wedding blunders with the client she was servicing. I almost burst into tears during my trim. How insensitive and really just rude. No attempt to make the situation right at all. Never going back. ***After leaving this place, I called Dolled & Dapper on 7th street & Union Hills immediately to see if they would allow me to bring my own color for a color service, and if they could fit me in this evening. They booked me and assured me there would be no issue at all using the product I wanted to bring in. They even Apologized for my troubles because they could tell I was upset. They had nothing to apologize for but cared about me & the business I wanted to bring them enough to say that. I should have just called them in the first place! ****this is not the first time, or even the second time I've had a bad experience with an Arizona Hair Co. Who said hair saloon chains are less valuable? If I could give ten stars to my experience I would! I was already familiar with this company, but I never tried this location before. I have to say, I had a very positive first impression when I called to schedule an appointment on Thursday at 2 pm. Talked to Kristy and she was super nice. Upon my arrival, they immediately got me checked in with Aby (I hope I spelled it right). No waiting time, yeah! My hope was just to get a clean hair cut of about 3 inches with hair style. Something easy, but other stylists messed up in the past. Aby didn't. She's a very nice lady from Jordan, friendly and professional. She had a great understanding of the kind of cut and style I wanted. And what I liked most is that she stated the final price right at the beginning ($42). Very straightforward and fair, no surprises. I like it. I've never felt more satisfied of the way I look like today when I walked out. They told me they are about to change location from Union Hills to Bell Rd (I guess) and I will surely come back and ask for Aby next time! This review is a few months old but I came here once for a trim and way too much was cut! I asked for a V cut and was given an uneven U shape. I decided to do the wash and water was dripping everywhere on me. I was told to stand while she cut my hair because I was told my hair was too long. I didn't even know that my cut was over because my hair was still dripping wet and I figured she would dry it or maybe use a little product but nope that didn't happen. I was a former Dolce customer. I paid $650 for a great cut and amazing color (they had me return to tone and condition). Yet, it was getting rediculous how much I spent and the work wasn't always up to par. I went to Heather at AZ Hair Company and BY FAR she was an expert on color and making things happen! She is an amazing hair stylist and she understands the chemistry behind hair color. You can trust her judgement! I don't have to overpay for what looks WAY better than what Dolce Salon and Spa did. I have a rule against leaving a 1 star review before a cooling off period. I've cooled off and I'm still upset. Knowing I was heading out of town on vacation, I booked an appointment at my regular salon but the powers to be at work had other plans for my lunch hour. So I had to cancel with my stylist, but since I had left the house with my hair in a messy ponytail, I knew I at least needed to get it washed/styled before I hopped on the plane. In a pinch I called this place and scheduled a trim and a style. I don't normally get my hair cut elsewhere, but I have long straight hair, how could someone screw up a 1" trim? Oh she screwed it up with ease. I'm not a cosmetologist but I've had my hair cut enough times to know the right way and the wrong way to cut it. We agreed to cut the bare minimum off, she showed me my hair between her fingers as a visual and I agreed and inch at the most was best. 3+ INCHES LATER my hair is a lot shorter. I knew from the way she sectioned off my hair I was rolling the dice, but I figured, the piece of paper on the wall that says she's trained, would indicate she can pull this off, that piece of paper lied. When she was about done destroying my hair, her next client came up and inquired how much longer. She was told it would only be a couple more minutes, so I asked the stylist how she's going to be done in a couple min when she still has to dry and style my hair. She said my apt was only booked for a hair cut, no blow dry, no styling or anything else. Seriously? I made it crystal clear I needed to walk out of there with a finished look. In a snobby tone she said "I can dry it but it's going to cost you $16". The tone implied I should just leave with wet hair. So I tipped her way more than average because the stories I had to hear made me feel sorry for her and left. So instead of running a quick errand and heading to the airport, I had to hurry home and dry/style my hair. When I left the salon with wet hair I wasn't able to clearly see how horrible my hair cut was. Once dried, I could see the random chunks of long hair and the chunks of hair that were cut too short. I've never in all my years had such a chop job. A blind person could have given me a better hair cut. So while sitting in my bathroom crying, I called my brother's fiancé who has her cosmetology license and asked where she was. Luckily she was at home, so we rushed to her house for her to at least make it look like I didn't have a child trim my hair. She was able to partially fix it, but the problem is, once hair is cut off there's not a lot you can do about it besides cut the rest of the hair to match. Never. Ever. Ever. Ever. I have been getting my hair done here for 2+ years and I have never been happier with the way it looks. Chrissy is my stylist and in the time that I have been going there, she worked her way up to manager of the store. She is really awesome because I have tried so many thing with my hair and she is always there to give her gentle opinion if I am about to make a huge mistake or to help me try new things. She is very professional and always takes the extra time to make sure my hair turns out great. We also carry on conversation the entire time ( 1 1/2 hrs!) which makes getting my hair done one of my favorite things to do. As far as the salon itself, it really isn't anyting special. Kind of small and nothing fancy about it. It is always clean and well kept though. They do have a good variety of product behind the counter though, which anyone there is willing to help give you info on. I have seen a few other stylists doing hair there and they all seem friendly and the haircuts of their clients usually come out looking pretty nice. The prices are really what got me here in the first place along with a recommendation. A hair cut is around $14, and I get layers, so that is really reasonable. I get two colors, partial highlights as well and my entire total is usually around $85. Overall, I don't mind trading the fancy decor for personalized, friendly, and cost efficient service. I am sure I will be going to Chrissy for years to come! read more

My long locks hadn't been loved in over a year and Rachel fixed me up like brand new. Lots of fun layers, all over gorgeous color, and most important (which many stylists have messed up in the past), my bangs are on point! To top it off, we had delightful chit chat, super easy to talk to. My mom went at the same time and got lovely all over lightening and a great cut, but I didn't catch her girl's name. She wasn't a talker, which my mom didn't mind just zoning and not talking, which would bother me.
