Arizona Tile, Tempe has a great showroom! I went to select granite and after looking around on my own Lori Anderson was assigned to help me. She set up several slabs for me to see of White Springs. I picked the one that I loved. She was easy to work with, and the paperwork was quickly done. They delivered to the fabricator. That should be the end of my story, however, the fabricator (Stone Systems) cut the slab wrong and ruined it. So I called Lori to tell her I needed another slab. I went back to Arizona Tile and walked around again and did not see anything that I liked that had the coloring and look that I wanted. Lori knows her inventory well, she said she had a granite outside that she thought would work for me. She set it up and it I loved it. I really appreciate all her help. read more

Lori at Arizona Tile has the patience of a saint. After we rejected slab after slab of perfectly lovely marble, granite and quartzite she was undeterred and continued to pull out stone for our review. When we finally selected an excellent granite "Monte Cristo" she managed to scramble through the yard and find 2 more slabs that matched exactly. Finding three 4x8 slabs that match perfectly end to end is not a simple task. We got there at 8 am, just as they were opening and didn't leave until noon. Frankly, I would have kicked us out at 10. Our contractor recommended we come to AZ Tile to look at the countertops. Having done no research prior (I knew what my dream magazine kitchen looked like), we set off to look at our options. Lissa helped us and I'm so glad she did! This place was HUGE! My fiancé and I had zero clue what we were getting ourselves into and she knew absolutely everything there is to know about granite, Quartz, marble, etc... She took what first seemed like a really overwhelming task and simplified it for us. After learning about each, we decided Quartz was our best option for getting the look we wanted while still being durable and functional for our home. After narrowing down our choices Lissa took us to this big TV and showed us this tool they have on their website where you can virtually choose a kitchen and the counter tops and cabinet colors and everything. It was so cool and totally needed to help narrow down our favorites. By the end of it, she didn't pressure us into buying. She gave us some samples to take home and gave us her card in case we had questions. After driving all over town going to seriously every shop in town, we found that we still loved the Lyskamm Quartz sample we got from here. It wasn't our cheapest option of all the shops in town but it also wasn't the most expensive. And even better - it was truly our favorite! After some deliberation, we decided to purchase. Our contractor is installing it this week and we'll definitely be going back to see Lissa for our backsplash and flooring soon. I would like to thank everyone at AZ Tile that helped me with my account. My home builder sent me down here to pick out the granite for our kitchen. The first problem was the design center had a completely different sample of granite then what AZ Tile had in stock. The colors of the granite we picked were night and day. We were able to re-select our granite choice per the builder and design center. This started the second issue, which everyone gets different pricing depending on how they are contracted with AZ Tile. So while I was down there having to pick out new granite, no one at AZ Tile could help me by sending me in the right direction to stay in our level/price range we already paid for. I was sent into the warehouse blind. I had to walk around and choose a few different granite pieces I liked and then had to send them to my design center. After hours of searching I picked a granite in our price range supposedly because I was not shown the break down of price difference between the two color selections. Of course they didnt have the size I needed in stock according to the builder order, so we had to wait and have it shipped in from Utah. Then 2 days later we find out the builder ordered too much and what I needed for my house was in stock at their location. So now we are to the 4th different trips down to AZ Tile. Finally 2 hours later, we were able to fulfill my granite order. I had a lot of people helping me due to the errors of my home builder and design center. We worked with Nate St. Germain in the slab dept and he was fantastic. He went above and beyond to find us book matched slabs that we all thought were sold. After a few days of investigation, he discovered they were still on site and held back for 5 months with no activity on them. We were able to snag them with his help. Nate's only interest was in us and doing his best to make sure we were happy. He was free to share all of his opinions about products, pricing, fabrication, even alternatives. I felt he was in our corner the entire time. If you need help with slabs, he knows material and more importantly the logistics of slab orders, holds, deposits, timelines, etc. If you want one rep who will handle everything, walk you through material pro/cons, selections, even viewings at the Outlet or in Scottsdale, Nate is the guy. Incredible place. Overwhelming selection. We spent over 2 hours looking at granite. After picking it out, we were then assigned a salesperson, Michael Giles. My wife was not sure about our pick, so Michael helped guide us. We ended up selecting a different slab at his suggestion, glad we had him to help. When you first get there, they allow you to walk the warehouse alone without a salesperson, you might be better off getting a salesperson to help you at the get go. I signed in and was given a hard hat and told to go look at everything and if I needed anything to let them know. I thought ok? I looked around and then went back in and the lady said so how can we help you? Ummm I don't know you tell me. I need something for my bathroom vanities. I'm doing a remodeling project and so I need help. She handed me a flyer and said here go to this place they might have what you need. I was like my business was not needed. Curt Kemper is THE BEST! AZ Tile needs to put him in charge of the Scottsdale store to straighten things out up there. Originally, I went to the Scottsdale store months in advance to select materials only to be told (incorrectly) that they could not hold my slabs for me, even if I paid for them in full. I asked if the quartzite I selected would be available in 5 months, when I anticipated it would be needed. The Scottsdale rep assured me it would. Well, 4 months later, I go back to the Scottsdale store and find they don't have enough slabs for my project. Not only that, the rep tells me it's going to be about a month before the next shipment comes in. Fortunately, I did not wait until the last minute to come in. The rep gave me an ETA of September 26th. I called on September 26th and - guess what - no slabs! Not only that, but I'm told even if they loaded them onto the ship today, it'd be another 30 days before they'd arrive!!! Desperate, I drove to AZ Tile's Corporate headquarters in Tempe, explained what happened, and they connected me with Curt Kemper. After only 15 minutes in his office, Curt had the 6 slabs I needed ordered from their California showroom - ready to be loaded onto the truck and shipped to Tempe within a week. Now THAT is superb customer service! Curt saved the day!!! Not only that, but the slabs arrived a day earlier than anticipated and Curt called me personally to let me know they were ready for approval at my earliest convenience. The slabs were beautiful and Michael Giles, the rep who pulled the slabs for my approval, was wonderfully courteous, professional, friendly and allowed me to take all the time I needed to be sure my slabs were perfect. Don't even waste your time going to the Scottsdale store where incompetence is the rule of the day. Go straight to AZ Tile in Tempe and ask for Curt Kemper - he's the magic man - the true epitome of what genuine customer service is all about!!! read more

Ashton Woods Homes, the gentleman that was just here Jarin Brooks the Area Construction Manager just left our home. He's standing behind Arizona Tile and Primera and will NOT have the countertops replaced. He's even said himself that repairing it by filling it in with resin and I quote, SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DONE! Yet it was done 3 times in certain area's. If I would have known that Ashton Woods would refuse to stand behind what they install in homes I would have NEVER purchased this home. We now have a warranty on a brand new home that we PRAY we NEVER have to use. We have other friends/family members that were interested in building a new home, we now know that THIS is NOT the builder for them. I asked Jarin why would they choose to have an unhappy customer VS doing the right thing and replace the countertops given the fact that they were repaired in a way that's not supposed to be. I didn't get a reply, so I have to make up my own reason and here it is... because they can since they have our signature on the contract for purchasing this home. I have to say, I'm extremely disappointed in Ashton Woods, Primera and Arizona Tile leaving a customer with countertops that are sub par at best! What a way to make your new homeowners feel confident they made the WRONG choice for a builder. Unbelievable! read more

Why is a cheapskate like me shopping at AZ Tile? Well, the Tempe location has many secrets - secret deals that is. OK, so they're not that secret, but if you've been to the other locations you're just looking a gorgeous displays of lovely tile and solid surface slabs. But at the Tempe location, this is where the extra unwanted slightly mismatched, or maybe slightly marred items go on sale. Venture outside past the rows of gorgeous slabs on the inside and you hit the huge outside yard filled with sale slabs. I bought a bunch of their Samsung Radiance Quartz on sale - because it wasn't up to Samsung's standards. The errors were circled in pencil, and they were tiny and easy to work around. Thank you picky Samsung! The marble and granite slabs are also a deal out in the yard. You have to look around, but you'll be happy. And then there are the secret tile deals! I seriously have been coming to this place for years and had never been back past the Tile Sales desk (go through the pretty Tile sales room, past the lovely bathrooms, past the slab room and desk where you get your hard hats, keep walking back through the doors and you hit the Tile Sales desks. OK, go past the Tile Sales desks and outside. Wahlah! Strange and wonderful short supply items in tile. I've never bought any of this tile - too strange mostly :). But there are some serious deals out there if there's something you want. Last time I was out there, there were some huge pieces of granite that had been slabs that were cut into 'tiles' for some special order. Really wild stuff. So yes, it is true I buy most of my tile down the street at Floor and Decor. But if you either want something special tilewise, or you want some sale slabs Arizona Tile is the place. read more

I walked in just as they were closing after driving an hour there. A man came up to me and said they had closed but when I explained to him that I just needed to walk through and knew exactly what to pick out but all I needed was the order number for my installer he said "come on in" very nicely. He pointed me to a woman behind a counter (who I assume is the one not answering the calls when I had called earlier on my way to find out what time they closed.....it just rang and rang). She looked at me with a blank stare and said "we are closed". I explained that the man let me in...yada yada yada. She looked at him and said "you help her then" and he politely said "I can't I am with a customer" then the two of them began to bicker which made me feel very uncomfortable. Then, he came up to me and handed me a hard hat and piece of paper and quickly gave me instructions on how to get the information I needed. I walked in and headed right where I needed to be. About 2 mins later another woman came up to me and said "miss...do you know we are closed?" to which I explained again and she was rude on that she seemed annoyed and wouldn't look at me and briskly walked away. I then saw the slab I wanted and asked her a question about it (she was nearby) and she was being very passive aggressive with me and once again recommended I just go ahead and an appointment. I got so frustrated I simply said "no thank you" and walked out. I was too much trouble and they were rude about it. Bottom line. It looked as the product is great but being a business owner myself with someone ready to spend several thousands of dollars on your product it was very disheartening to be treated so unprofessionally. read more

We are building a new home in Queen Creek, Arizona and as a result, we have been dealing with Arizona Tile in order to select granite for our kitchen island, counter tops, etc. Our contact there, Curt Kemper, has been an absolute dream to work with. The original granite slabs brought in did not look like the sample we had chosen at the builders design center. Curt went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the granite for our home, going so far as bringing in new slabs from California. When those were too much like the original granite, Curt agreed and advised us how to proceed. My husband and I are building a beautiful Shea Home in the Surprise area. It is the home we have wished for a long time. It was time to pick out our Granite countertop for the kitchen. So I went down to the Tempe Location. Upon entering the business I was greeted with "2" big smiles and "Congratulations" on your new home purchase. I was escorted over to the registration counter and given a hard hat. The customer service "rocks" at Arizona Tile.!!!!! I have never had Granite countertops before so I was quite eager to see the selection I would be given to choose from. I am truly impressed beyond words with the Arizona Tile Company. The selection and knowledge they have about their products is amazing. They truly do love their jobs and sharing the knowledge they have for those products. Curt K. assisted me in the selection process and I was very impressed. He took his time and explained everything in detail about the Granite we were having installed in our new home. Curt told me that Granite is an investment and is a "beautiful piece of natural stone". Curt also explained how the variations occur in the Granite and that taking care of it is very easy and will last for many years. The Nordstrom of tile stores...What a GREAT staff!! We have been shopping for stone flooring for a few weeks, and have been everywhere (or at least it feels like we have been everywhere!). I still could not make a decision, and still had many questions about what we should get to fit our needs (tile vs stone). Today we went here and I was amazed at the knowledge and friendliness of the staff. I wish there were employees like this everywhere I shopped. Specifically we worked with two employees named Brenda and Susan, and they were incredible. I left finally able to make an informed decision, and feeling GOOD about spending such a huge amount of money because I know we will love it! (And, the prices are not high--they are quite competitive with the other places we have been, including "big box" stores like Lowes and Home Depot).
