We brought our little rescue pup here for a visit for an ear hematoma…read more The vet, Dr. Cares, and all the staff were fantastic with her. This was the first time she was openly smiling, tail wagging, and attempted to play at a vet. Even with the draining procedure which included a needle, they made her feel very safe and comfortable which is huge for a poor dog that is scare of her shadow. Price was very affordable, care was wonderful. Compared to care with another local vet clinic - this office is head and shoulders above. There's really no comparison in terms of care, cost or customer service. We had a cat with a similar issue a year earlier that we had treated at the other clinic. They didn't treat it appropriately, our cat now has a permanent deformed ear with horrible scar tissue, the cost was much higher with horrible care and the entire staff was rude. Our little pup, under this vet, has a beautifully healed ear, no scar tissue, and most importantly no new emotional trauma. The entire team is friendly, professional and welcoming. This is now our new vet for all of our animals. Highly recommend.

I have a 15 year old lab and they make you feel guilty about getting blood work done. So I agreed to blood work and the vet tech stuck my lab twice and dug around with needle and never got blood. So I told them we can do blood work a different day I do not want to put my 15 year old lab through more need pricks and the vet tech told me not to worry the needle pricks do not hurt them. Really putting a needle in your arm and digging around to find a vein does not hurt dogs? I find that hard to believe.

I don't do many 5-star reviews, but we LOVE Doctor Wilson…read more Our beagle/jack russell mix may be coming to the end of her life and Doc treated us with respect and very straight forward in treatment, but most importantly to us she handles the situation for what it is, a family pet (not a child). She has given us recommendations on what she would do if it was her pet and has been educational. The rest of the staff is very helpful, they clearly care about their customers and each person I have worked with there relate exceptionally well to our doggies. I just called the hospital to check in on our pooch and the tech was very clear in helping us understand when we can visit, if we should bring anything, changes in the dogs behavior, etc. - definitely putting our mind at ease. I used to gripe about how much we were spending on animal care, but these guys have made every single penny spent worth it.

In June 2025 I brought my cat Petey age 14 to have dental surgery and have his sinuses explored due…read moreto him sneezing a lot! I was told by Dr. Wilson that she could find nothing and maybe he had asthma. He was given an antibiotic shot after the procedure and this seemed to give him relief for a couple months. Then it started up again. I took him back on Dec 6, 2025. He was very nervous and panted when he first arrived. I told her he was not eating much, refusing food he had been on since I adopted him at age 6 months, but no appetite issues until now. She made a comment about his breathing saying he was struggling but no further examination or suggestions to try to diagnose him! She then whisked him off to another room to clip his back nails and gave him another antibiotic shot and a steroid shot. He had an ear infection so she gave me drops for his ears. She told me to call her on Monday Dec. 8 to tell her how he was doing but when I called I was told she was not available and would call me back. She never did. Instead several days later someone-NOT her-called and left me a message to call her and she would relay the message to Dr.Wilson. Sad that she could not find 5 minutes to speak with me! Petey continued to worsen, seeming to have more difficulty breathing and rather than take him back to see Dr. Wilson I found another veterinarian office to take him to. On Wed, Dec 17, 2025 I took him there. From the moment I came into the room the vet gave him her full attention, asking me what was going on. She listened to his breathing and said she wanted to take x-rays to see what may be going on. After doing so she came in and told me Pete had fluid in his chest. She tried to drain it but she could not. She then informed me that he likely would not make it through the day. I called my husband at work and together we made the gut wrenching decision to let him go so he would not suffer more than he already had! I was advised that he would likely pass before my husband could arrive by 6 pm. Thankfully my daughter had gone with me for support. I have struggled to understand WHY DR. WILSON AT ANIMAL AND AVIAN DID NOT SUGGEST THE CHEST X-RAY ON DEC 6th!!!! In my opinion she is an awful, negligent vet! It appears all they care about is their income stream-just giving meds and keeping you coming back again and again for injections which never took care of the problem. It is all about the money with them! My feeling is if she had she suggested and done the x-ray when she saw him on Dec 6th instead of more meds which she said would likely be ongoing if they helped, which they did not, then my Petey would not have had to suffer an additional 11 days!!! I would NEVER take another animal to ANIMAL AND AVIAN nor would I refer anyone to them!

The vet examined him and then said he should get an X-ray but that they don't do them, so I would need to go somewhere else. I knew going in that he would need an X-ray and had no idea they wouldn't be able to do it there. The doctor said someone should've told me when I called for the appointment. But they didn't. And I still had to pay for the office visit. The office visit where she examined my cat, couldn't figure anything out, told me he was in no pain and then sent me home. I took him to another vet two days later and before they even did the X-ray that doctor knew he had a tumor and that he was in pain. Turns out it's an aggressive sarcoma and he's been hurting badly. Thanks for absolutely nothing, Strongsville Animal Hospital. Not to mention the leaking ceiling with the two big tupperwares underneath. And my daughter also overheard the girls at the front desk talking about vaccinating a puppy with a bent needle because the puppy bit the needle. Real nice place.

There are times you're concerned and upset, pets are part of the family (a fact they seem oblivious to). They barely acknowledge your presence and act as though they are doing you a great favor by allowing you to sit in the waiting room. Sometimes for far past your appointment time! Unfortunately I would no longer recommend.
