The hygienist caught a small cavity before it became a problem and Dr Arkady took care of my new filling quickly and painlessly. He also came up with a solution to food getting stuck between two teeth that insurance will cover so it won't cost me an arm and a leg. The staff is kind, patient and efficient. Avoid Dr. Arkadiy Pavlov and Arden Dental Services at all costs! This office engaged in fraudulent and abusive practices against my elderly mother, Inna Ishkhanyan, causing severe health and financial harm. In 2024, they submitted an unauthorized insurance request to Cigna for dentures without her consent, delayed treatment for over a year, and misrepresented coverage. These delays led to her hospitalization due to ill-fitting dentures. When confronted with a statement from Cigna, the office agreed to provide service, however, Dr. Pavlov refused service during her appointment, citing "pressure," and expelled her, an elderly woman, from the office. Arden Dental's actions are deceptive, negligent, and abusive. We're pursuing complaints with NYSED, NYSDOH, and the NY Attorney General for fraud and misconduct. Receptionist asked me if I want Jewish dentist. I said it's no difference as long as he's a dentist. Jewish dentist was very nice, explained to me everything. I got authorization from insurance. Called to set up appointment. Was told he's not working there anymore. Went there in person. Receptionist said Dr. Pavlov does not want to do this job. I wonder if he knew about it! Avoid this place, never called me back to let me know whether I got approved or not for a root canal, I called my insurance and they said they never got such request.. very unprofessional, all they want to do is charge. Would strongly NOT recommend. Entirely unqualified and unprofessional so-called dentist by the last name as of Kogan. Was unable to take the proper measures of my upper denture therefore such one was not positioned correctly. Moreover, it was cracked in two places after four days of wearing (without even trying any hard food). I had no choice but to choose this dentist as no one would take HealthPlex besides this office. Like everyone said below, the Russian receptionist are obnoxiously rude. When we got there, she threw the clipboard over the counter to us and when we returned it to her, she saw me standing there but continued to talk to her other Russian colleagues while ignoring us. This clinic has a high Russian population so I guess if you're not Russian, to find someplace else that's more welcoming. The dentist is even worst. I usually don't write reviews but I think people should know how awful this office is. First of all, the receptionists are inhumane, rude and just disgusting. I was unable to make my appointment because I was not feeling well, they called me and told me they will be charging me $30 because I didn't cancel my appointment 24 hours before (sorry, I am not a psychic). Another thing, very rude receptionists, (hi Alla), who instead of talking to you keep on putting you on hold. The doctor I wouldn't trust with anything, because I have never seen anybody be so unprofessional, trying to charge for every little thing. I am not sure why people leave good reviews on here, honestly, I think it's the people who work for him because there is nothing good about this office. Oh, and if your insurance doesn't cover for something, he will find every little thing to charge you for (always LOVE doctors like that). The wait is crazy long, and the work is 0/10, so if you like your teeth, don't go there. :))) * every normal dentist office does hygiene with the x-rays in the same day, these people will try to make hundreds of appointments for you to keep on coming back to take more and more money from your insurance. read more

This is the worst dentist office. The receptionist is very rude. When I walked in she walked away and never returned. I asked another employee if I needed to fill out forms. When I finished filling out the forms, I gave them back to the receptionist. She never told me to have a seat, or let me know someone would be right with me. My apt was scheduled for 3:45pm. At 4:20pm I asked what was going on. There were at least 4 people who came after me and was service. When I wanted to speak to her supervisor, she was no help either. They chose to speak in Russian so I couldn't understand what they said. Long story, after sitting for over an hour without being acknowledged I left. I will find a new dentist. read more

It was my first time going to a dentist here as I just moved to New York. I have metroplus insurance and the doctor I was seeing was for my 9 year old brother. Although it was far from my home, we went anyway because it looked and seemed promising and I was referred too here. The first appointment was very good and I understood when the doctor said that permission was needed from the insurance as my brother had many cavities to fill out. He said us to not have an appointment as he will call us himself after the approval from the insurance . It was 30th October, Halloween day. I waited for them for 2 weeks so I called them myself and the lady on the phone told me to wait as it takes time. I called them again after a month as I wanted the procedure to start right away as my brother was going to get braces. I got no response. I was angry at them that not to keep me hanging. If they didn't get the permission then to let me know so that i find another dentist. 1 and half months passed and I kept calling them and all they said was they can't find my brother on their system which does not make sense because my insurance had them as the dentist and I filled out every paper. After constant calling and frustration of waiting, I called my insurance to change the dentist. It was a very tragic story as it happened first time to me. They couldn't find a person in their system. Very bad managing. read more

I have visited Dr. Pavlov multiple times during the year. During my first visit I had a good impression about his performance. Eventually and unfortunately, I had to change my opinion about his service and his office. The doctor don't provide you with a written copy of the treatment with charges of each procedure in this plan. This way it is impossible to keep control of his work and the billing/charges submitted to insurance companies. First, it is very difficult to schedule an appointment. The desk employees-girls are constantly rotated. If you schedule the time and the day of appointment, someone calls you a day before reminding you about the appointment and provide you with a different time which was negotiated in the office or asking you to switch the time. Now let us talk about Dr. Pavlov's performance. He directs his staff to schedule the visit by the length of time (1, 2, 3...hours). This was he can show the patient that he spent with him 2 hours. My visit was for 2 hours. I came to the office promptly. From the 2 hours I spent half an hour waiting when the doctor or dental assistant calls me to enter the procedure room. Being in the procedure room, I was waiting another 20 minutes till the doctor stops by in my room. He runs between 3 rooms of patients leaving you in the middle of procedure and going to treat other patients in the other 2 rooms. Simultaneously he runs from one room to another. If you are asking him about the procedure, he replies in a nasty rude way shooting up your mouth. He doesn't care about patients. He cares about the charges of claims submitted to insurance companies. The way his office operate is to maximize the reimbursement of the claims from insurance , the rest of the claims he asks to pay out of pocket . Not to mention with his cooperation with his dental assistants which he constantly rotates. I have been evidenced that in front of me he insults his assistants calling them non-qualified for this job and insulting the with cursing words. That's not professional ethics. He claims that Arden dental has the best advanced technology which he can not prove. The third world countries have better technology and tools to treat a patient. We are in 21 Century. He claims that he can save you tooth and that he is a professional implantologist. I saw his work. It will last at least 6 months without warranty. He contracts cheap lazy Russian lab technicians who are doing and redoing their crowns and he must redo them again. It takes forever to put a crown/bridge in my mouth. He works with you like a carpenter or metal welder not like a human being and you are for him not a patient. The doctor must study over and to learn new technologies and to visit Canada Mexico and Russia where he came from and not geoparticle patients. Talking about clean office. It's not true. It not cleaner than a supermarket or Masy's and not at all under the compliance according to the Pandemic situation. The rooms are not sanitized after each patient, the gloves and masks are the same with different patients which are awaiting the service in a different room. Doing this type of analysis, research and visiting doctors review sites, to my understanding this office must be lockdown for indefinite time, the license must be revoked because there is no control of it. Was going there for over 30 years when it was dr gross. I had laser surgery on my gums to help stop receding. $1600, I was told that included everything and was told to come back for check ups and cleaning that they scheduled. I did and after a cleaning they said I owed them $100. I asked why and they said my insurance only covers 2X a year. I wanted to know why I was scheduled and not told before the cleaning that I would need to pay that it was not going to be included with the surgery or covered by my insurance since it was them that said I needed to come back again. No one would take responsibility and after 30 years of being their patient they wouldn't cover the cost. I am not going back and I'll look for another dentist. read more

I went to Dr. Pavlov to get assistance with my lower central tooth. From the begiining, was very rude and he said that he needs to be paid before he did work on the tooth. He was supposed to make me a removable partial denture. He did the work, and then he did not make sure that the denture fit well or that I could even remove it. For the next 4 days, I could not remove the denture because it was improperly fitted and wedged between the other teeth very tightly. My gum around the tooth was in extreme pain and bleeding. I kept calling Pavlov's office and I asked for emergency assistance. Dr. Pavlov hung up on me and ignored my other messages. I was finally forced to use pliers to pull out the tooth with a great deal of pain and blood. Finally, after all my calls were ignored, I went to the dentist's office to explain what had happened and Dr. Pavlov refused to speak to me. He literally shut the door in my face and said we had nothing to talk about. He also refused to return the $600 that he had charged for a useless and painful denture. I have called and sent letters to resolve this issue and give Dr. Pavlov opportunities to fix the denture or provide a refund, all with no result. Ultimately, I was forced to pay another $350 to get a new partial denture which works exactly as it should and was oddly almost half the price of the malfunctioning and painful device made by Pavlov. I was shocked by the terrible treatment and poor quality of dental work I experienced at Dr. Pavlov's office. Most of all, I could not believe that he offered no assistance when I was in great pain and could not remove his shoddy dental appliance from my bleeding mouth. I found out about this place on Groupon. I paid $139 for the cleaning and teeth whitening service. I had my teeth brushed and was sent home with a do-it-yourself whitening kit. COLOSSAL waste of my life. I would have ordered a do-it-yourself kit if I WANTED to do it myself. Came all the way out here for nothing. Mr Pavlov did 2 implants for me in 2013. For operation, one tooth removal, implants installation, abutments and crown (one, covering all implants) installation I paid him around $8,000 out of my pocket. The crown was attached using cement ... The crown lasted less than a year and one day fell. I went to Mr Pavlov and he (for the bargain price of $100) re-installed it back. It fell again few months later. I felt like my visits became unwelcome and during another visit I was proposed an expensive operation (for just another $3,000, to start with!), which I refused, as I don't trust him. I spent some years in putting that crown back, visiting other dentists, spending money on that. Now I have to remove badly installed implants and redo the whole procedure in another dental clinic, throwing thousands again for the same work.
