They are in Riverside and I am in Huntington Beach- but this did not matter- it was like they were just down the street! They quickly went to Westminster to pick up my mom- from a horrible long term hospital- and I felt like she was finally in good hands with arlington!! I am beyond disappointed with this business. While mourning the loss of my father, this is the last thing I should be worried about. I do not want any other family to experience, what my family and I have gone through They made several errors in the process, which could not be fixed. We paid to have locks of my dad's hair, before he was cremated. It was overlooked & not done. We were overcharged. Only 1 person came to pick up my father at our house, which there should have been 2. And we were almost charged for the 2nd person. Communication is poor. I understand human error, but in a business like this, there is no room. Management apologized and offered a partial refund, but nothing can be said or done to fix this. Please pay attention when signing a contract, look at your charges carefully. read more

First of they Overcharge for their service they quote you one price to then charge you for additional incidental, Second, they will tell you they will call you back and ensure all documents are in order and all they did was drop the ball and never once make any calls for updates... And last, they are completely irresponsible with handling orders for the death certificate we are going on a week and still no resolution. as a mortuary these are all things that should be taken care of prior to service to avoid any issues, but instead they point fingers at everyone else but them selves... my friends wife missed half the services because their management called her into the office in the middle of service to tell her he would not be taken to the cemetery due to the lack of Death Certificate....My friend and family should have to deal with this, his body is decomposing and just sitting at their establishment because of their lack of ethic and responsibility I will never use this place or recommend any one to come here... a complaint will also be sent to the BBB to ensure that this is noted... read more

I do not even know how to start this Yelp review because the way my family and I were treated was beyond exceptional. The kindest most compassionate individuals are employed at this mortuary. I called for some information on a funeral burial for my grandfather, who recently passed of natural causes. My family and I wanted to make sure all of his wishes on a funeral were met and this company went above and beyond to make it happen. We first spoke with Julie and she was so solicitous over the phone, even though I was emotional and difficult to understand at times, she really took her time to hear my family on what we were interested in for a service. We made an appointment to speak with the manager, by the name of Emily, because we had further questions on what can be done during COVID. Emily was truly amazing and explained every detail to us and cared so much. She went over every detail on the steps we need to take and when to except a death certificate. Even though we had several questions she never made us feel like we took up too much of her time. During a time when we were overwhelmed with grief they took care of us and I cannot recommend this family business enough. This is the worst time of my life. My husband of 32+ years passed and I knew his wishes but not what to do. Being local, I had seen this mortuary over time on my daily travels. Never thought I would need something like this. They were kind, professional and straightforward. They didn't upsell, but left me in a room while I was making plans with an urn catalog, upwards of 20+ minutes (not an upsell but, you know.......) The pricing was honest, out the door, all services performed this is your price, which I appreciated. I received my husband in a timely manner. Marisol is to be commended for her humanity during the worst time of my life. I picked up my husbands ashes. Slightly uncomfortable with the young soft spoken woman dressed in black and the young man in black exchanging sticky notes between them with smiles while looking for my husbands ashes. Kind of gross, but you know, a job you do everyday becomes rote. I finally got my husbands cremains and made my way home. Upon opening the container, the sealed plastic bag inside of the container had a tear in it. When I lifted the ashes from the hard plastic container air whooshed out, cremains in the air. Upon my further inspection of the hard plastic container, it has sharp edges on the inside, which could have caused the tear. I'm not dissatisfied with the service I received. One of my aunts is a mortician in New York. To those who work in this line of business please consider that your everyday is the worst day of someone's life who is on the receiving end of you. read more

Anyone reading this review has suffered a recent loss of a loved one. For that I'm very sorry! Planning after death services is extremely difficult. I have to say that Arlington Mortuary handled our loved one's memorial service exceptionally well. We worked closely with Analisa who was very compassionate, helpful, and responsive to what probably seemed like an endless flood of questions and concerns. It's very difficult planning a service since it isn't something that is done often and it's done under the most extreme amount of stress while grieving. The service turned out to be wonderful and all the attendees commented about how nice it was. Melvin also deserves a special mention for his amazing level of support during the service itself. Looking for a cremation service? I do not recommend this place. Came here on a Friday, the 7th. Was told they could pick up my father from the coroner the following Monday, cremated that Wednesday, and we could pickup ashes the following Friday the 14. I wasn't able to pickup ashes until end of day 12/21. I would call for updates and be told they had to take him to a crematory in Santa Ana (which was not originally discussed in our meeting with Amy) and they could only move things back and fourth on certain days. They only called me once in the two week period and that was to confirm an address... Not for any type of update or explanation as to why it was taking so long. The cremation box has a tag that says cremation was on 12/20, so did they just flat out lie to me about him being created around the 14th? On top of the horrible timing (note this is not my first time handling this sort of thing. My mother took 2 days to cremate).... When I went to pickup the ashes they had not double checked the order and gave me 4 less urns than what I ordered. It ended up they did have the other four on site - they weren't grouped together though? I should have seen the writing on the wall when we walked into our original consultation and the girl at the front had to finish a minute or so of text messaging before looking up and acknowledging us. I can't speak for funeral services but I give a sad one star for cremation services. read more

I've been blessed enough in my life to be a frequent visitor to funeral homes or mortuaries. A close friend recently passed, after a long battle with cancer, and her family chose Arlington Mortuary to hold the wake. The venue looks to have been recently remodeled. The viewing rooms and restrooms look new. CCTV is available in the viewing rooms as well as projection screens. Parking can be an issue if street parking is not available. I had to wait a couple of months before I could review this awful business. My momma passed away at home on February 23rd of this year. Arlington Mortuary picked her up and took her to their business. The following day I went to make arrangements for my mommas last wishes. She wanted to be cremated and so that's what I told them. Momma didn't have a lot of life insurance due to her illness, she had exactly $1200 in insurance. I thought that would be enough to cover everything. I was very wrong about that. These vultures charge you for everything including $300 to process the insurance check, $200 to be able to sit with your loved one for only 20 minutes plus other miscellaneous charges. By the time they got through the total was $2,500! I began to cry and asked them how they were able to sleep at night taking advantage of people during one of the most awful times of their lives. I told them I would tell everyone on social media accounts and the local news about how they took advantage of people. The girl left the room at that point talked to her manager about what I had said and came back and told me they'd take $500 off the price and allow me an hour with my mom. Suddenly they're playing some type of morbid let's make a deal. They said they wouldn't even prep my momma until they were paid in full and I also couldn't sit with her until they were fully paid! Needless to say it took insurance several days to pay and by the time that happened my momma had been untouched for 10 days. Not embalmed, nothing. Was advised that I wouldn't want to see her in the current condition. We're the vultures not so money hungry I could have had one last moment with my momma but thanks to the greed and non-caring people that are Arlington Mortuary I was robbed of those precious last moments with my momma. Be warned god forbid this happens to you and you have to deal with these morbid, disrespectful, cold . Dear George yes you offered me a chance to view my mom for an additional $200 and demanded the money first before I could see her. I recently lost the love of my life at a very young age. Like most people in this situation, planning a memorial service was a difficult task. Although we elected to have a Celebration of Life at a private residence, I had previously been to services at Arlington Mortuary and thought each was a class act. I decided to ask the staff for guidance in planning the event. Even though I made it clear up front that we would not need a mortuary for services, Ashley at Arlington Mortuary was compassionate enough to spend a few hours over a two-day period to assist in guidance and to design and print the prayer cards we wanted. Nothing about what we wanted was typical of a prayer card. We wanted it to be unique and indicative of the amazing life we were celebrating. The end result: perfection. Exactly what I envisioned. Words can never express my gratitude for Ashley's assistance. She never made me feel like I was a burden in my requirements and she proved that nothing about the mortuary's visions are cookie-cutter. She even helped me with the custom flower arrangement I wanted. When it arrived, it was on time. To the minute! It was the exact arrangement I described. At no time did I feel as though I walked into a place of business. Honestly, I expected to pay a lot of money for a mediocre effort. Instead, I spent practically nothing for a whole-hearted effort by a place that actually cares. At a time when it was difficult to even formulate or convey an idea, Ashely was the sparkle of light I needed to pull it all together. I can say without hesitation that Arlington is a solid, professional facility. We've used several different funeral homes in the past and none were as detailed and committed to follow-up as they are. We recently used Kathy Cheney at Arlington for a dis-interment of my wife's fathers ashes from Riverside National. He had passed 20 years ago after which, against his written instructions, his third wife abruptly moved the ashes without the families knowledge or permission from Denver to Riverside. The care and attention we received from Arlington, most especially Dee Diaz, helped my family get through the incredible pain of losing my dear uncle. We had visited one other mortuary prior to coming to Arlington and wow, what a difference in demeanor and attitude. The shall-not-be-named mortuary felt like we were at a car dealership whereas Dee made it clear from the get-go that she considered us "family" and would be treating us the way she'd want to be treated. There were four of us making most of the decisions and doing most of the planning and while we were all on the same page for 99% of things we still had plenty to discuss and decide, on the spot. Dee was always patient and never made us feel like we had to rush any decision. From the planning to the day of, Dee was with us every step of the way. We thought we had missed our chance to receive the gun salute and continued to believe so until we were at the cemetery. I was transferred several times, and the individual I spoke with--while not outright rude--was kind of cold and I got the feeling I was imposing on them. I flew my deceased mother from Texas to California to be buried with my dad. I chose Arlington Mortuary after reading many reviews from many funeral homes. They all had good and bad reviews. Choosing this company was a huge mistake. Their only job was to pick my mom up at the airport, keep her a few days and deliver her to the cemetery where we were having a graveside service. When scheduling this, they told me they were booked three weeks out. I did not want to wait that long. I told them, I will look for another funeral home that could do it sooner. She immediately decided they had availability the week before. We booked with them. The entire family was coming from other states for the service. Several of us went as a group to see my mom at the funeral home the day of the service. The room they had her in was dirty and what felt like a dungeon. We waited around to follow the hearse to the cemetery. Five minutes before they were supposed to leave with mom, they call me aside and say there's a problem. One of the two hearses they have is broke down the other being used. We will have to take your mom in a delivery van. I said that was unacceptable, what is the back up plan? There wasn't one. I asked my nephew to go look at the van. It was dirty on the inside and looked pretty rough. Told them no. We need a hearse. They said they'd work on it and keep us posted. They didn't keep us posted, we had to ask what was being done. They always said still working on it. The manager never came out to apologize or offer any help. I finally asked for the manager. She comes out and was less help then the others. She never apologized. By this time we are an hour and a half late for the service. Other family members were at the cemetery waiting this whole time. We are told that we either reschedule or send her in the delivery van. We were from out of state, taken off work, etc. Rescheduling wasn't an option. I sent my mom to her final resting place in a delivery van. I believe they double booked and hoped I was going to be ok with the van. This company made one of the saddest days in my life, also one of the most stressful. Call them if you need a little more stress in your life. read more

I regret placing my beloved father in their care. While there were some positive interactions with our coordinator, calls were often not returned, and when I arrived to pick up my father's cremated remains, he was placed in a plastic temporary urn; I had ordered a decorative urn for my father's inurnment. I reminded my coordinator of this twice, since she mistakenly thought I was providing my own urn. I only had two hours before my father's funeral, and one of the mortuary reps (the coordinator to whom I was assigned was unavailable) said that they had no urns for purchase. What I thought would be a simple pickup lasted over an hour, since over and over again, I was left waiting while they tried to fix the situation. I was nearly in tears, fearing that I may have to lay my father to rest in a cheap, plastic box. I was referred to Arlington Cremation Services, and I was able to quickly purchase an urn. The woman who helped me was so compassionate and attentive. I highly recommend Arlington Cremation Services and I wish that I would have placed my father in their care instead of Arlington Mortuary's. read more

I give them 2 stars because there is a lot of mismanaging going on there. They treated us really nice and didn't charge a lot. The place is really nice. When it came to paperwork they mismanaged it and it took 3 times to get the urn right. They also took forever to get the death certificates and now we are told they want one back so they can get paid by the insurance. They knew they needed but didn't order one for themselves and they want our copy. Hopefully they will learn from their mistakes in our case and not put another family through this. read more

My father should have been buried by now and laid to rest This is causing such a burden and stress on all of us! I warn anyone seeking comfort and closure during the loss of a loved one to NOT use this place of business!!! I ordered some flowers for the service of a colleague's mother through the link on the Arlington Mortuary website. Although the flowers were signed for by Ashley at Arlington Mortuary, they did not make it to the service, nor were they given to the family - disappointing as they were intended to be a source of comfort and strength during the service. After a significant amount of reasearch on their part, the Sympathy Store graciously offered to refund my money. Instead, I asked that the flowers be resent to my colleague's home. Another disappointment, what arrived was nothing like what I ordered. We came in and we're abruptly stopped by Paul and said uh no drinks ladies. OK fine we will finish them outside but he was staring us down. Then he saw my box of Mexican bread and flipped out!! I just left my husband's Grandmothers' service. Everything went well. My mother in law have a beautiful eulogy and the pastor was awesome. Unfortunately, as we were preparing to leave there was a bit of confusion on who was to take the flowers to the cemetery. We were talked to by a young woman with such disrespect that my jaw almost hit the floor. She verbalized that she would be transporting the flowers which is fine. My mother in law in her grief wasn't quite sure of the protocol to which this woman got loud, way too loud for a funeral. The look on her face was enough to piss my husband off to the point he told her to "change her attitude before we get to the cemetery because his mother doesn't need this". Had this incident not occurred I would have given five stars. I don't Work for a funeral home but I know you must treat your guests with the utmost respect. The day of my Brother-In-law's services, his wife, my Sister-In-Law, was pulled into a side room and told the County rejected the death certification and they could not get the permit to bury my Brother-In-Law. The night before she was told "everything is OK, you have nothing to worry about" as far as services & permits. My Sister-In-law spent the entire time of the memorial trying to make phone calls to the County to see if she could do anything to help retain the permit. The Mortuary staff should have done that. When we asked for a Supervisor, the Supervisor only came and apologized. They gave my Sister-In-Law a few minutes to "say goodbye"because they had another service coming up. The staff hurried us out of the facility as they had another service following. We had to tell over 80 family/friends that there wasn't going to be a cemetery service. Now my Brother-In-Law is still not buried and the cemetery still does not have a permit from the Mortuary. My family and I are living a NIGHTMARE. My Sister-In-law did not get to sit through her husband's services due to lack of the Mortuary doing their job, nor get a final goodby with the love of her life. read more

Awful place!!! First, they don't take the time to learn the family dynamics. They are rude when asking people to leave the service. They treat the "family" as if they were not family. They started the service late because they were not ready. Very unhappy with their service. I would not recommend it at all.
