Made an appointment for 5pm for my 11 yo. Unfortunately there was an accident on the way there which delayed us by 20 mins! I was mortified and made sure to call the salon twice to update them on our ETA and apologized profusely and thanked them for still making it work. When we arrived, we were quickly told that the French tip manicure wouldn't be possible since we had to be out by 6 to make a hair appointment. Totally fair enough so my kid sat down for a regular manicure. (Please note the salon was completely empty save for one other person.) But the two manicurists couldn't stop gossiping about us, involving even the one other client who was there. Eventually i was embarrassed to keep hearing them mutter about us being late and the appointment we needed to still make, and laughing about it as though my child and I were invisible, so I decided that it was best for us to leave. Just unnecessary meanspiritedness. So many other professionals out there who will treat you like a human being. Go elsewhere. read more

This place is operating under new management, and under pandemic circumstances. Temperatures are checked upon entry, and patrons are asked to wash their hands upon arrival. Each of the workstations have plexiglass partitions to protect both the customer and the technician. The atmosphere is clean, quiet, and serene. I followed Tim here from another salon. He's been the only technician that has been able to gently cure my ingrown nail issue! I literally want to fall asleep during my spa pedicure and mani hand massages. Currently, it's best to make an appointment, as they are taking safety precautions very seriously. I watched the technicians sanitize equipment and workstations between each customer. Because of this, a little extra patience is warranted. Each of the technicians currently on staff appear to be perfectionists when it comes to their work. I was delighted when I discovered Becky and Tim at their previous salon, and when they took this space over, I didn't hesitate to follow them there. Both of them are kind and caring, they listen to what you want, and they take their time to make sure you're happy with the end result. They have a wonderful color selection, and even went above and beyond to order specific items needed to do the specific nail designs I envisioned on my wedding day and they came out perfect! I didn't get razored because I mumble, and the borders aren't great, but I'm loving my plain mani-pedi ($36) and the customer service that delivered it. OPI, Essie, Gucci, and a dozen or so China Glaze. Great creme/shimmer/bold/traditional colors and they were equally happy to make suggestions or let me browse on my own. The willingness to do designs is a nice option. I finally understand the point of pedicures: massage chairs, TV news channel in the corner, fairly painless de-grossifying of feet, mini manual massages. My older nail technician was super nice and patient, even playing Operation just to paint my cast-bound thumbnail. She went for the best shaping for continuously colored nail sets. Arranged us so we could chat easily while our nails dried, and changed us into our shoes. I'd have no qualms treating myself here again. read more

I came to this salon for a simple nail takeoff and a gel manicure. The technician decided to ignore my request and take matters into her own heads and shave down the acrylic (overlay?) with gel coating on top of it which is unheard of. My nails subsequently started chipping and breaking not even a day after that. When I came back in to have them fixed, the owner told me he was too busy to take me at the time and was not sure why the technician didn't take my nails off as I originally requested. I did not argue this at the time as I am not the expert and just assumed she knew what she was doing. He offered for me to come back to have my nails done for free and when I tried to reschedule a time, again I was met with they were too busy and not flexible on time at all. I ended up having to go somewhere else and had to pay for an entirely new job out of pocket not even a week later. When I asked the owner if he would honor a free service at a later date; he did not respond. If I could give this place a zero I would - they are unprofessional and clearly do not care about retaining good customers at all. I will never go back there. read more

I just moved to Arlington and this is the first nail salon I've gone to. The older woman did my pedicure for me and was honestly really rough and even cut me on my toe. I usually try to be tough because I understand she's trying to work on my toes but this was unnecessary. One positive was she very thorough with getting rid of my cuticles and everything around my toes, but again it was rough. Run, don't walk, to Arlington Nails & Spa. But be sure to bring your sandals to change into, because you won't want to ruin your new pedi. It's the best manicure/pedicure I've had in a long time. The salon is bright, modern, and roomy--a rarity in this area. They offer a good selection of colors, TV, and magazines. There are plenty of stations and plenty of nail techs. I can't remember the names of my techs, but I've had two different ones, and liked them both. One was a man and he was quite meticulous. During the manicure, not only is a scrub used, but they use hand warmers while the cuticle remover is soaking in! Love it. The pedicures are great, too. Probably the best foot/leg massage I've had during a pedicure. A mani/pedi with a design on each big toe costs $41. Cash only for tip. There are a few cons. Razor usage is not what I'm used to and the techs seem to be lacking in design skills. Also, I was hoping to find a salon where I can be waxed as well, but their waxing prices are too high. However, do not let this deter you from visiting. It's definitely one of the better nail salons in the area. read more

I went in today to get two nails fixed that had broken. I called ahead and was told that I could come right in to get them fixed. While receiving the service, the nail technician cut my nail too close to my nail bed which caused me to begin bleeding. He told me "don't worry about it, look away". I understand that things happen; however, his demeanor and nonchalant attitude really made me uncomfortable. I will not be going back to this salon. read more

I have been going to this salon on and off for 5 years and today I told them I will never be going back. The owner is very rude. Today she interrupted me and told me to stop talking as I explained how I wanted my eyebrows done. I told her she was being rude and that I would not be coming back. The only reason why I went is because Ann Nails which is down the street was closed at the moment. In the past when I have gone they do a subpar job and it's over priced. One time I got a full set and 4 nails had broken within 2 days and when I returned to have them fixed she charged me for it. With summer starting, I was in desperate need for a mani/pedi and was in the area. They have a great selection of colors and the salon appeared to be very clean. The manicurist showed me the wall or nail polish. One side of colors was $26, the other side was $32 because there polish lasted longer, however it was not the gel polished. The salon is very quiet, which is great for relaxing. First, I got my pedicure. The spa chairs are really nice. They have good massage features. The manicurist did a great job and took her time. I especially like the foot rub. Next, I got my manicure. They put cuticle cream on your fingers, put your hands in sandwich bags and then stick your bagged hands into these warming pockets. It was very interesting. The reason that I'm giving this place 3 stars is because less than 12 hours later, my nails were already starting to chip. I have never experienced this at any other salon. It has been 3 days now and every single nail is chipped somewhere. Four of my nails are chipped half way, if not all. I'm going to vacation tomorrow and now I have to redo them myself tonight. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, however, I feel like my money was wasted because my manicure didn't even last a week. read more

The last few visits were merely okay, but I was willing to stick with the salon; however, today's visit was deplorable. I went in for a basic eyebrow wax. There wasn't a wait. The technician was not very friendly, but I shrugged it off. As a natural introvert, I'm not a fan of small talk anyway. She quickly waxed my brows. Great. I am nearly 8 months pregnant. Sitting up is a bit of an ordeal these days, but I manage. The technician shoved me in the back to "help" me sit up. Maybe she thought she was being helpful, but it was a hard shove that knocked the wind out of me. She apologized. I paid and left. When I got in the car, I noticed that her work was a bit messy. Had gotten my eyebrows and upper lip waxed. I wasn't able to hold the mirror to make sure every unwanted hairs are off. Then someone else was waiting before I was even done and one of the ladies told me to stand up before I was even done getting my eyebrows plucked. Then the lady that was doing my eyebrows left white lotion on my face when I walked out and didn't even get most of the unwanted hair off. Becky and Tim left their former salon at Lee Harrison in January and now own and run Arlington Nails & Spa. I'm so happy I found them! They greet you warmly - in masks - then take your temperature and have you wash your hands. All the stations are separated by plexiglass dividers, the pedicure stations look brand new, and the place is attractive, welcoming, and spotless. Becky did my mani/pedi, although I've had Tim many times, and both do a wonderful job, taking their time to get it just right. I also had a bikini wax, and there's no one else I'd trust other than Becky. I live in D.C. and it's well worth the drive. Plus there's plenty of free parking! In 2021 a salon that cannot do designs. They had a stroke trying to do simple designs on my nails. This isn't a shop for young ppl who want trendy nails. If you want a simple manicure- this is the place for you. On trend is not their specialty. The color selection is extremely limited. Mainly opi which is a good brand but they're color selections aren't as vast as sakura, kiara sky, or dnd. Again with the off trend. I finally have a nail salon I will return to. I go to Lisa and I recommend her. She is gentle, doesn't feel the need to remove every bit of skin around my fingernails (a pet peeve of mine), does a great job and is fairly quick (I'm not good at waiting either.) I normally get a a gel manicure - and a regular pedicure but if I have time I have the spa pedicure. Another pet peeve of mine is when all the nail techs talk loudly to each other in their native language. The talking does happen here, but it is subtle and quiet. The place is CLEAN, bright, and pleasant. I know their are other better salons - but for here in Arlington, close to me, this is as good as it gets. read more

He claims they would honor it, so I drove to Arlington....they too refused to take my gift certificate.. Do NOT go here! I will start off with saying I have been going here along with the rest of my family for years, I mean since this place opened at a different location. They are friendly and do a great job, well at least the people we would always go to, but the last time I went to get a pedicure with my mother we both left and got FUNGAL INFECTIONS. They obviously do not clean their equipment properly (I have never seen them open fresh, clean tools). I am still treating my fungal infection (on my toe nails as well as the bottom of my foot). Not only is it costly, with the weather getting warmer I can't even wear flip flops. My mom who only got an infection on the bottom of her feet (athletes foot) has just cleared up. Although they do a great job I will never go here again, actually I will never go to another salon again. I do not trust them anymore. read more

Just experienced the saddest excuse for a manicure here. And all I wanted was for my medium length nails to be evened out and buffed. She kept leaving squared off edges even when I asked for them to be rounded...I had to point out that nearly each one still needed to be rounded off. She did nothing for my cuticles. Put lotion and scrub on the tops of my hand only and barely rubbed it in anywhere. The edges around my nails are ragged and dry. Drier than when I arrived there. Then she buffed one hand more than the other and seemed irritated when I asked her to make them equally shiny. She didn't even try.
