We've been a handful of times. Lack of parking is shameful. Food trucks are hit or miss on hours and quality of food. Can't bring my teenage family members to get food on a Monday at 6:30p, but any idiot with a misbehaved dog can bring it in and let it cause problems with people and other dogs. Staff is unnecessarily curt and rude. Read the room Armadillo Den...this is south Austin not east Austin. read more

Good size venue. Tiny parking lot. If you park anywhere around the venue you will be towed! The bartenders are rude! Big venue with a nice stage, but not worth my time or money with rude waitstaff. read more

Checked out the spot for the first time this weekend. Saw a band called the Madison's play. Definitely get the South Austin huge patio parks. The outdoor area is incredible. They have lawn chairs with fire pits, a huge stage, a dog park, and tons of picnic tables. I guess the little things will make you happy. It was nice to not wait 20 or 30 minutes to get to the bar to grab a drink. I love Rainey Street but it's so overrun. Then you find this nice little strip in south Austin with huge back door areas and bars that can serve you a beer within minutes. It's a shift from downtown but it's a spot that you can kick back grab some beers and bring a big group of friends to chill. read more

As a wheelchair user this place is not accessible weather it's the parking or the terrain. I was asked to move my vehicle by multiple employees which they have a handicap parking space marked as a loading zone. I told them it was unacceptable which they wanted me to move to the other spot which I just took my wheelchair out etc and wouldn't even have room to get out at that spot! Meanwhile my friend who is in a chair was on the way and needed a spot as well. It's Just not acceptable at all I hope the ADA looking into this. read more

Incredibly disappointed in this establishment. Game 6 of the ALCS championship, HUGE TV showing the game, then they SHUT IT OFF mid 3rd inning, due to a band no one knew. They had no concerns about doing it, and the manager told me to "have a good life" when I told him we don't care about the band. Disrespectful to paying customers, there were so many patrons watching the game, and they tried to tell us to watch it on the 4 TVs with no volume in a place that literally had no seating due to a freaking band no one even knows. This establishment is located on the outskirts of south Austin in a suburb. It's an outdoor establishment but does not allow kids on a Saturday during the day. I'll never return the place nor will I recommend. Frankly I hope they go out of business. Wrong location for this establishment. read more

5 stars for venue, music, food and drink. But no parking. Parked across the street in the strip mall. Lots of open spots. Was towed. $240 + Uber. My mistake but won't come again because of limited parking. Would encourage Armadillo Den to work out deal with strip mall. Otherwise not worth it. Lesson learned. read more

This is a huge venue with very little parking. Street parking is not available nearby so I had to park at a strip mall lot with tons of open spots nearby. There was a lady standing around looking at her phone. It seemed a little weird but went to Armadillo Den which meant crossing a very busy street on foot in the dark. Came to get my car a couple hours later and it was towed by ATX Towing. I did not see any signs in the lot but finally found one in the entrance which since it was dark I did not notice. So I had to pay $240 to get my car plus a $15 Uber fee to get there. ATX Towing was very mean to me and it was hard to find the place. They were so rude. Armadillo Den needs to warn patrons or find a better parking situation!! Don't let this happen to you! read more

I can't believe that this was my first time here! It is a hidden gem! There is a lot of room to social distance and our large group was able to snag a spot by the fire. When we went, there was not a band playing, but there was a good sized stage. They had a good variation of drinks on the menu. There are also two food trucks on site. This place is great but only gave 4 out of 5 stars because the parking stinks. We live in south Austin and tried to go there a few times but wound up somewhere else because we couldn't find a spot. I know they recently joined up with other local businesses for a shuttle which should help. The food trucks are amazing and lots of room to spread out and enjoy! read more

Cute patio with lots of tables spread out. I came yesterday evening for a drink, but saw so many people walking around without masks that I didn't feel safe here. There were so many people I don't think the staff has time to ensure this doesn't happen but there is no mention of Covid safety upon entry so I'd expect this kind of attitude with patrons. Fun spot to grab a drink and listen to great local artists! We went on a Friday night and it was popping. The artist sounded incredible, the drinks we had were great, and the staff was kind and attentive! We are self-admitted snobs about staying in our corner of East Austin, and loathe having to travel north or south...EXCEPT for the Armadillo Den! We absolutely LOVE this place! First of all it's absolutely huge, and has oodles of room for everyone; inside, outside, under cover, in the sun, upstairs, in the field, even the enclosed on-site dog park! The tables outside have bar games at them, and some have hooks for dog leashes too. There is no shortage of choices when it comes to satisfying your mood on seating! The drinks are awesome, and the bar staff is super friendly! They have everything from frozens, to house specialty cocktails, tons of local beers, and even some wine and non alcoholic options. They are so dog friendly and even have treats as the bar, and a huge stack of bowls with cold water for your pups! They have a=several intsa-worthy photo op swings outside, yard games, a field that kids can run around in, and an enclosed fenced in area for the pups to run around, it's basically got something for everyone including two food trucks to choose from and scheduled live music! What isn't to like!? Ok, maybe the parking, that's definitely a sore spot for people, BUT they give you a discount on your tab if you show proof of your ride share, and people, we shouldn't drink and drive anyway! Don't let the lack of parking deter you, go check it out, and take the folks visiting from out of town, they'll love the Texas feel! The Armadillo Den itself is a really cool venue, but the parking knocks it down to a one. Like a lot of other patrons, we parked our vehicle in the shopping complex across the street because the small parking lot they have out front was overflowing. Drinks are expensive for what you get, but it's Austin so, meh. The food trucks are killer and clean. It's called the armadillo den but in all the many times I've been here I have yet to see an armadillo and that's sad. When I go to Dan's Hamburgers I can at least see a hamburger. No armadillos. BEWARE if you have kids and want to go to Armadillo Den. They have made it very clear that they are not a family friendly establishment. Take your money and save yourself the stress by choosing a more inclusive place to enjoy live music and a drink. Management and staff does not make you aware when you get there that there is cut off time for when kids have to leave and will harass you to leave even if you are in the middle of trying to finish a beer or waiting for food from one of the trucks. I was there with a group of families and in a matter of 20 minutes we were harassed to leave 4 separate times before it turned into an uncomfortable situation with one of the parents trying to talk to management. The "owner" did a poor job in handling the situation and should have more empathy and wherewithal in how he treats customers (with kids or not). The group was forced to leave without being comped for drinks/food that they had to leave behind because the staff failed to be transparent on their hours. Armadillo Den is NOT WORTH IT when there are so many amazing places that welcome families. read more

Such a cute spot! I love a big open seating style when it comes to meeting a group of friends out for a drink & bite to eat. Even though it is chilly outside, they have fire pits & heaters. 4 different food truck options so everyone is happy! The corn dogs or lemon pepper nuggets were to die for. Drinks were meh but staff was quick to help & serve it up with good attitudes. Also, they have over flow parking at the next bar over that you can pay 10-15$ for and it goes towards drinks there. The place is fine, but not worth the parking headache. The lot is way, way too small, and you will get towed if you park anywhere near the place, even if you park across the street in the big shopping center that is already closed for the night. If you can't get one of the few parking spaces at the Den you might as well go somewhere else, unless you are prepared to pay the $241 to get your car out of the tow lot. Seems like they should work out a deal with the closed shopping center to be able to use their parking spaces so as to accommodate all those who want to come to their bar. read more

Love this spot! New to Austin and heard it was a great place to try out and have gone the last 3 weekends. The live music has always been great, huge area for lots of people and dogs outside, two food trucks, and very nice bartenders. I even brought my picky mom who wanted a martini (really not a martini kind of place) and they were able to make her one. Prices are reasonable but parking does seem limited so would recommend Uber/Lyft. Also worth mentioning, although nothing to do with the business, I saw my first firefly here since I was a child. There's a small empty field near the dog park and they were out there one night and I was really (pleasantly) surprised to see that. read more
