Now this is where I can see myself hanging out under the sun for a few hours just enjoying great drinks and company. During SXSW, there was a pop-up show from Adventure Club and it led me to come checking out the Dainty Dillo for the first time. This space is so laid back and has indoor and outdoor seating. I really loved how they had Electric Jellyfish on tap. There was a food window available and it really helped people to continue to rally and not have to depart for a bite. Parking was a bit limited so I would recommend rideshare (unless I missed an adjacent parking spot). We snagged a low table with foldable chairs and it really felt like we were hanging out at someone's house. I appreciated how there was a mini stage for a dj or small band. Bathrooms were super clean and the space altogether was very well kept. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in town. read more

Very friendly and I mean genuinely friendly staff from bartenders to door guys. It's like hanging out at a picnic or barbecue with family and friends. Happy hour here is crazy good. Met some friends for drinks on a Saturday night in July after dinner @ Ezov, just a few blocks away. The service was very friendly and professional. There were two people behind the bar and they were quick to say hi and take our orders. There were some vendors giving away freebies such as coolers and beer, so that was a nice bonus! My friends had beers, two different IPAs, and I had to try the espresso affogato martini. It's exactly what it sounds like... A well made espresso martini with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Came here with some friends for bachelor night and we had such a good time! Such a smart way to bring in a ton of people on a Monday night outside of football season. The Bachelor starts at 7 so we showed up at 6:30 and were able to find street parking nearby but it was pretty busy even though we thought we showed up early lol. Tons of outdoor seating and even lawn chairs set out to watch the show. On Mondays they have half off espresso martinis on tap which were great. We all got some apps to share and everything tasted great. Staff was nice and did a good job handling the crowd. I was already not super impressed, but the "valet" situation made me just give up on this place entirely. I arrived today right at opening, parked, got out, got my dog out, started to go inside, and then out of nowhere a man appears asking my husband if he needs to valet. My husband says no. The guy says we have to pay him anyway. I do not appreciate this weird shake down. We decided to just leave. I am certainly ok paying for valet service if someone is taking my vehicle to park elsewhere, as a convenience for me. This isn't that. When we pulled up there was a valet stand but no one was at it. It made sense that no one was manning the valet station yet because the lot was wide open so there wasn't a need for your car to be parked at another location. Downsides are the parking is very limited. They do offer valet and for those who don't want to valet you can find street parking a short walk, across the way. The other downsides are the menus (food or drink) are quite high and there aren't many *filling* options of vegetarian friendly food. Lots of snacks/apps options (nachos, fries, salad), but would've liked to see some entrees like veggie burgers or veggie dogs like you can find at Lustre Pearl. I'd definitely be back for another friend gathering or occasion where a venue that can accommodate a large-group is needed, but otherwise probably won't make it a regular spot of mine. read more

We've been coming here weekly for Bachelorette nights. I love the option of indoor/outdoor seating so if it's too hot we can sit inside and hear the staff cheering for the men but if we bring the dogs there's plenty of room outside as well. The food is very American, they have a great patty melt, one of my all-time favorite sandwiches! I love that they have waffle fries and wish more places did. They seem to be strict with the extra ranch. There's great fire pits and camping chairs sitting overlooking the river as well as sizable patio with heat lamps up top. There's a stage for music which happens regardless of sports are on which kind of fun. Very doggo friendly! It seems they are doing valet parking now and there's not a ton of neighborhood parking. With a HUGE outdoor patio overlooking the river, a stage for bands, and solid, dirty (in the good way) food options so there's nothing not to love! We came on a chilly day and there were blankets for everyone to use, and tons of heaters and fire tables. They were doing crawfish by the pound when we came and I wish I'd known beforehand because every table but us had some and it smelled amazing! The staff is incredibly friendly, the drinks are tasty, and the vibe is real! You can order from a QR code and walk in and pickup at the bar which is convenient for a group! They have solid frozen options and even have some larger format frozens like the frozen dirty martini with pickled okra juice. They are super dog friendly and our pups loved laying the dirt taking in all the outside smells! They have valet parking for $9, or there is a parking garage across the street, as well as some neighborhood parking too! 10/10 will be back here instead of making the trek all the way down south the the O.G. This is such a cutesy place! Unique in that they have lawn chairs and you can see the river from the patio. I was so excited to try the Dainty Dillo after seeing a rather enticing Instagram video. I shared it with my brunch group - 10 people - and we made a date to try it out Sunday, May 19th. We slowly trickled in and a couple of us were seated and served. Two additional members arrived, one with her 4 month old baby, and the valet attendant informed her that children were not allowed on the weekends. Originally we thought he was joking but learned very quickly he was serious. We expressed our disappointment and went to gather the other members of our group that were already inside to discuss how to regroup/which restaurant we should go to instead. We also called the other members of our group that had not arrived yet to let them know to stand by for further instructions. We were standing outside of the restaurant but in the shade of the building as it was 12pm in Texas in May - aka incredibly hot (and humid) and any respite from the sun was appreciated. At this time, a new Dainty Dillo employee came forward and informed us that children were not allowed at the restaurant, to which we informed him, we knew and we were simply trying to figure out our next steps and also allow the other members to close out their tabs. At this point two of our members left and walked over to Grizzelda's to inquire about a table there. Perhaps 3 minutes had passed before this same man returned and rather forcefully told our group we needed to leave NOW. I don't take issue with the fact that there is a no children policy. But I do take issue with how that message was delivered. This man was incredibly rude, verging on disrespectful, and lacked any empathy or desire to have any member of our group be a return customer. Mind you, there were only two other patrons in the restaurant at this time. The baby was sleeping and we were rather quietly discussing next steps. We were hardly ruining any "ambiance". Our group did close out and walk to Grizzeldas. We were there for two hours and had a front seat view as not a single customer visited the Dainty Dillo. is Dick's Last Resort? We've never been here before and there's 7 of us meeting for brunch before ACL. The greeter was rude to us. We found a table and didn't realize we had to either go up to the bar or the food section (in a different building) to order food from our phones...because no one greeted us or told us what to do. When we did place our orders from our phone, they make it and it sits in the window. They let you know from your phone it's ready...but my friend that was here was never alerted for her drinks or food. I ran up to fix something on my order and they were like you need to go to the food building and when I did she was so rude saying I wasn't texted yet. I was like I am aware I need to fix something on my order. My sister also ordered a solo bottle of champagne but accidentally ordered the wrong thing on her phone (because literally no server or guidance or anything). And they were so rude to her when she went back to the bar to fix this issue. Also I'm sorry the "carafe" was one bottle of sparkling wine with an INSANE amount of juice and it was like $40...our experience was not pleasant. I don't get how you're even supposed to tip on this when no one helps or talks to you. If you don't want to get waited on or helped and do everything yourself, this is the place for you.
