    ....sorry....I expected more juice...more flavor...and NOT a pre-formed patty...

....oh Chattanooga......please tell me what all the fuss is about.... ...I've heard of armando's for years....and today we finally tried one.....(mainly because they were the only burger place open at 10:30a.m., which happened to be our "lunchtime").... ...first of all...the good news...their potato wedges were delicious!...fresh....hot....crispy on the outside and fluffy and light on the inside...... ...but now the crux of why we won't be back....as we sat discussing this business while we waited for our order to arrive, I remarked that what probably makes this place "famous" was its burgers....unfortunately, the burger did not meet my expectations.... ....it came out way too fast....and though I like fast service as much as the next guy, this made me suspicious of the perfectly round patty on my bun that had not one hint of "sizzle-y shine"....it wasn't hand-patted...( I think i had imagined a hot and juicy, irregular-edged, grandma-style patty bursting with flavor ....it was the exact opposite... dry...barely warm...and tasteless.....I am convinced it was warmed over from some earlier preparation.....even the "fixings" we're minimal.....the bun was fresh though and toasted (which was not enough of a saving grace to make me want to finish my burger)..... ...the dining room itself, though clean, was a little rough around the edges....(old carpet, dark paneling, raggedly cut plastic table coverings)....and we were greeted with quite a few "off smells" (beginning with the dumpster that sits near the front door, and even inside which just seemed saturated with "old fry grease" odors.... ....so.....if it's a good, decently priced burger you are hankerin' for, go around the corner to Five Guys ....or, yes, (I can't believe I'm saying this), even McDonald's!....(their quarter pound deluxe is better than an armando's).... ....sorry, guys!.....I so wanted to like you!....(maybe other locations are different?)....

ITs hard to find a better hamburger in Chattanooga. The food here is always fresh and even though the building is older it is kept neat and clean. You can't go wrong here if you want a good old fashion burger.

Double Cheeseburger so big, I could barely get my mouth around it. Delicious!!

It was a good quick low profile meal. Easy access and staff was on the ball. I will eat there again.

I'f your trainer blesses you with the opportunity to enjoy a burger before the competition, this is the place to be!!! The burgers were so good and the single serving of fries was huge! Hubby received permission to enjoy a double order of fries so he was in heaven! The service was outstanding. We enjoyed this place so much that we decided to come back the next day for the celebratory meal as well!

We tried a few beers from Five Wits and per her recommendation got the creamsicle shake as well. Solid beverage choices. The shake tasted part float part milkshake and it was absolutely delicious. Would order again. The food on the other hand was a bit eh. We ordered the Asian q burger and the mushroom melt burger and it took quite a while for them to come out and when they did they had unfortunately been left on the grill for way too long and were charred and crunchy. One set of our fries was cold and the bun to burger ratio was extremely off. Luckily, the staff agreed that our burgers were accidentally overcooked and they remade them no questions asked. The remade burgers were moist and better but still not fantastic. They were just burgers with minimal toppings on them. Not really seasoned and the flavor came from the toppings themselves. The buns were still too big for the burgers so there was a lot of extra bread and they have potential to be great but they were just average. Would have probably been a three star review but the staff and drink selection really earned the extra star. Would go back to drink and maybe snack but probably not order a burger.

They have another dining area and an outside area too. Hunter was our server and she was great! She had great recommendations and was an attentive, fun person. Our glasses never ran empty. We started with Jalapeno Cheddar Hushpuppies with Spicy Yogurt. My husband had the Smoked Brisket French Dip - Smoked Brisket, Caramelized Onions, Provolone Cheese, Au Jus, French Hoagie with Beer Battered Fries. I had The Motherclucker - Springer Mountain Farms Southern Fried Chicken, Spiced Pickles, Hot Sauce, Duke's Mayo, Niedlov's Bun. Hunter recommended adding Pepper Jack cheese and Bacon, as well as the Brussels Sprouts with Maple & Bacon. Everything was wonderful. There were way too many Brussels sprouts. It also would have been nice if they were cut into smaller pieces. They had a special dessert of Blackberry Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream. This brought back childhood memories of my grandmother's cobblers. My husband had the Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream.

Upon entering we were greeted by warm and friendly staff. Wait time was reasonable (20 mins) and there was a fair amount of seating. There were about 3-4 groups waiting to be seated. We were walked through the establishment and seated at a booth table near the bar. If you are into sports you can see the TVs from just about every seat. The waitress arrived shortly after our seating and took our appetizer and drink order. We started with the Triple B. The fries came out quickly, were hot, fresh and delicious. The drink I ordered was out, but the waitress gave another option, but unfortunately that was out as well. Ended up having an old favorite, Guinness. For our meals we ordered the smoked brisket French dip and the wagyu burger. Upon ordered the burger our waitress informed us there was a shortage of patties and if we still wanted the burger we would get one patty instead of two, but at a lower cost. Both dishes were amazing and we couldn't finish them as both the fries and the entrees were larger in comparison to other places we have eaten. Overall this was a great experience with great food. The only thing we had difficulty with is having to use the phone flashlight to read the menu as the lighting was really dim. Will definitely return if we take another trip here.

The reviews looked well, so we went hungry and excited. The restaurant is gorgeous, loved the view of the restaurant as I ate on the wall of booths. We had a reservation that was taken promptly, our service was convenient but I wouldn't say pleasant. We ordered the veggie pizza (great flavor, slimy texture from too many mushrooms etc 4/5) the ceasar salad (started with some finesse 4/5) and the jerk cauliflower(5/5). The only item we were disappointed in was the wings (1/5). Now let me explain. Wooden city reads as a smart modern, quality of food type of location. The wings were great values finest: and thus were huuuuge and unappetizing. Yall pull up, just don't get the wings lol
