I was here 6 months ago for a cleaning and was pleased with the service by Dr. Armani, however, there has been unpleasant changes since then. I arrived today, early for my 10:15am appointment that the office had called to confirm with me 2 days prior. Upon arriving, I was informed that they were having problems verifying my insurance eligibility. Why was I not informed of this when confirming my appointment?? Apparently in their system it was showing ineligible but when they called my insurance, multiple representatives told them my insurance was active, and I am currently and have been eligible for services since 2014. Well this is of course correct, being I used the same insurance last time I was there. The girl who seemed to be the receptionist & dental assitant was really trying to help me be seen but the office manager who I believe also serves as the hygienist was awful. Prior to the receptionist finishing the call with the insurance company, the office manager was already telling me I need to leave and contact my insurance company to resolve the matter. I politely told her how can you say that when she is still on the phone with the insurance company?? She was like "okay, well I'm just trying to save you time. We can't see you if we can't see you're eligible in writing." Saving me time would have been telling me you guys were having issues BEFORE having me drive all the way over for an appointment you would not honor. The manager walked away, and the receptionist finished her call with the insurance company. She informed me that the rep said I was eligible, but due to the fax system being down they couldn't send over a letter confirming it. I was so frustrated at this point, I said "Thank you. In the future I hope you all inform your patient of any issues before they arrive. It's a waste of their time otherwise." She was responsive and said she understood where I was coming from. I left at that point. Upon getting in my car, I decided to call the insurance myself and see what was going on. The rep informed me that there were multiple profiles showing that needed to be combined which may be why there was the error showing with the eligibility. She said they could fax over a paper for the dentist office so they could see I was eligible. I was like okay great, please stay on the phone so you can explain whats going on to the office workers and fax over the paper. I go back into the dental office, the receptionist speaks with the rep, gets all the info she needs and has the rep fax over the eligibility letter. The receptionist received the fax showing all services are 100% covered, is preparing to take me back to the treatment room and the office manager stops her and says no, we cannot see her because it doesn't show in our system. I told her but you see the letter, multiple reps have told you I have full eligibility, I dont understand. She tells me me I don't know how to make you understand, but we will not be able to see you unless you pay out of pocket or wait until it shows you're eligible in our system. Then she tells me she has to go handle a patient. WHAT! You first told me you need to see it in writing, the insurance sends that and now it isn't enough. It was 11:18am at the time, way past my appointment. I honestly feel like the office manager just did not want me to be seen because seeing me would put them behind schedule at that point. Unless I would pay them out of pocket for the service of course, then it would have been worth it to her. I called my insurance company back after I left to update them on the situation. The rep said it best, "I find it disturbing that faxing over the eligibility letter didn't suffice. We've never had that not be enough if they couldn't see the patient in the system." Disturbing indeed. The rep went in and double checked the system for my eligibility and told me it showed I was eligible on their end and suggested there may be an issue with the "system portal on the dental offices end." The rep suggested I go to a new dentist after that horrible experience and gave me a list of new providers. I suggest you look elsewhere too. It doesn't matter if the dentist is awesome, if the office manager is horrible and you never get to see the dentist. I'm giving 2 stars for prior visit and because of the receptionist really trying to get me seen. read more

I neglected getting my dental work done for year due to bad experiences in other dental offices. One day i was on Facebook and Armani dental was on my feed. I then looked them up online read some reviews and figured i would make an appointment. I went in for my consultation very nervous . Once i met Dr Armani I knew I had picked the right place for my dental needs. The bedside manners of this doctor is exceptional. I can back a week later to start the process once again Dr Armani was exceptional. The treatment that your given at this office is like none I have ever experience. After getting all my extractions and filling I went home. I came back two day later for the second part with Dr Jay his service also was exceptional. He made my impressions and started to create my partial and lowers. All I can say is that this doctor really cares about what he does. He fitted me around 7 times to make sure I was getting the best of the best. His work was extremely excellent. I believe I was the only patient there and Dr Jay took his time and made sure I was happy with the finish product. I think I was a difficult case but Dr Jay took his time, longer then he probably use to on one case. I was extremely happy with the finish product. All I can say is that you rock Dr Armani and Dr Jay. read more

I met with Jay the denture specialist at the Chevy Chase Dental Inc to have a new full upper denture made to replace my old one which crack in two. Jay explain in detail the processes needed to make the replacement. He made several molds of the upper gums and lower teeth. After making a working model of the upper denture he check the fitting and bite. Once he was satisfied with everything we then proceed to select the tooth and gum colors. This process took about 3 hours. He didn't rush the process which was very comforting. I then when to lunch. It took another 3 hours to make the actual denture. The fitting and bite was perfect. I did not feel any part of the denture rubbing against my gums. The suction was great. I had no problems chewing on a steak afterwards for dinner. Sitting for six hours wasn't bad especially knowing that if he need to recheck something I would available. Yes I would recommend this office and Jay for anyone needing dentures. I have been coming to Chevy Chase dental for more the 11 years. This dentist office is very professional and welcoming. Dr.Armani is so energetic and he makes sure you are comfortable with your pain and your stay at the clinic. Carla and Martha Are so sweet and welcome. Today I had to do my first time denture, Dr.J made sure my long day was comfortable. He did a awesome job on creating it and making sure I looked good with my new denture. They feel like my real teeth, it doesn't hurt and know I am able to eat better. I highly recommend this place for any dental service. read more

Was just with Dr.Armani yesterday and as always it was great. Everytime i have gone and left there my teeth have felt better. Last december they founded out that i had a couple cavaties and since then i have had multiple appointments with them in order to get rid of them and my teeth are now healthier thanks to Dr.Armani. They even offered to close my gap which is something that they did not have to do. If you have tooth pain or know anybody dealing with tooth pain i reccomand you guys to go to Chevy chase Dental, the people are great there. read more

I would recommend this Dental office to all my family & friends and to everybody. This place is very welcoming and the service is outstanding. All staff here is very pleasant and helpful. Armani Dentistry, did a excellent job in getting me a new pair of dentures. The staff was extremely wonderful, courtesy , friendly. There is always refreshments and snack while you wait. In addition to dentures this office also does routine dental cleaning etc and I have been coming for more than 5 years. This office has always been accommodating and respectful. I love Dr. Armani, Ms. Carla and staff as they always make me feel comfortable and what I appreciate most is their honesty about my dental health/hygiene. Great doctor. Mom found him on yelp and we decided to give him a sho. Mom needed some implants. Many places were expensive but Dr. Jay was reasonably priced, and I'm financially poor. Has a great sense of humor but he's also very detailed and patient. You won't be disappointed. My mom is finally smiling without pain after several years of failed dentures. read more

It took me a long time to find a competent dentist who didn't have bad reviews under my insurance. I had a botched job before and I never ever smiled. Armani dentures saved my life!
