Miracles can happen!!!! I got my teeth knocked out when I was 12 by a gunpowder explosion. I am now 65. I had bridges and crowns put in by many dentists. I had a crown of about 8 years chip and I was looking for a place to get it repaired. Dr.Obeid was able to see me for a consultation the same week I called. The consultation was free including the initial x-rays he took. Dental work is extremely expensive but Dr. Obeid was very up front about the costs. The replacement crown is perfect, he even evened out my smile a bit where it was crooked from not wearing retainers. The process was 2 parts - 1 appointment to get the mold and a temporary crown 2 appointment for final crown. I am very picky about dentist offices and I was blown away by how I was treated here. My dental health was deteriorating, and I needed help fast. I had an infection that was getting worse and worse. Even though I am a senior citizen, I am a real scaredy-cat when it comes to dentists, but I bit the bullet and made an appointment at Obeid Dental. Gillian, who sits at the front desk, greeted me, letting me chatter away, as I was really nervous. This helped me feel relaxed and enhanced my confidence. Dr. Obeid and I then had consultation in his conference room. He listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions, and I had a lot of them because I knew my mouth was in bad shape. I was actually in a little bit of pain. After our consultation, he proceeded to give me an oral examination, to include a total mouth x-ray. He then provided a diagnosis, all of which was free, of what needed immediate attention and then other areas that needed to be taken care of eventually. Where can anybody get free professional advice these days? We went over my options, and the decision was left up to me if I wanted to make an appointment or not. It was the best decision I ever made when I made the appointment. One amenity that really was inviting to me was Obeid Dental has an in-house laboratory, which means there is no delay of waiting on an outside lab to have things made. They are made in-house. I went to this dentist during 2020 -202 for the entire Pandemic year and endured his eccentricity and meanness and, non compassion. When I first got there for implanrs, through the veterans affairs. He seemed caring but the real evil side eventually came out. He is a person that gets mad if u don't laugh and respond back to him the way he wants u to while u r in a dentist chair. I have a trepidation of the dentist and he didn't respect that he would slam down utensils and walk around in a huff if I didn't respond to his happy repartee. I was a lil older than him and a recent C survivor, but that didn't stop him from laughing at me because I wore wigs, he even grabbed the back of my head one time feeling to c if it was a wig on the sly. Humiliating. I'm a black female and he did not take in consideration 4 the size of my lips and structure of a black female. The implants I received are crooked and uneven and they hurt. The right side has a big gap that collect food and swells up if u don't immediately address the impacted area. Makes dining out bad. One side is higher than the other and when I asked him about it, he alluded to a scar I had on my lip as the reason. I felt in my intuition that he did it on purpose in retaliation because he was reluctant to address any concerns. He lied to me about several issues. The reason I even went there was because his business does everything in the office, the implant surgery and makes the implants. He lied and said he had to have my implants made in Holland, another lie. It was sent to the same garbage place in the US that outsources to Holland. I was trying to avoid this by seeking his service which I REGRET. If u part of the community don't go here because u will get the albino experience. There were many unreal digs directed 2 me but the most shocking happened on the final day of completion. This dentist viciously stuck pain needles in my gums 3 times. He stuck the needle in my upper front gum so hard that the liquid reached my nose an I had to shove his hand away and I also sneezed and choked. He did not even apologize just told the intern to give him another pair of gloves. It just seemed crazy. I'm in the process of getting a second opinion. Even though he is well qualified there is some deep darkness under all those flowers. Proceed at your own risk and pay attention. read more

I have never been trusting of dentists since a bad experience with one as a a child and then an incident a few years ago that landed me in the hospital for a couple of days!! He is one of the nicest people that I have met and I love the fact he goes over the treatment plan in detail and helps you decide the best course of action. Out of 4 other consultations they were more than double the next highest estimate and all had a very, very low opinion of their tactics and estimate. I was in a fight for my life with hospitalizations from age 22 to 29, then my fight to survive conflicted with my ability to work. I successfully fought for disability when I was 39. Up to then I was at the top of my field as a graphic artist, I was the successful Art Director of a magazine and my teeth had been put on the back burner... after all, I had reached age 14 without having a single cavity. I took my dental health for granted, then didn't fully consider what losing my teeth would mean to me. I was getting chronic sinus infections that came to a head when a molar cracked in two. Coincidentally, my doctor could not diagnose my considerable migraines. I went to see if my teeth were causing a problem that specialists couldn't find a cause for. When I turned 37, I met Dr. Obeid. Family pooled together funds and resources to find someone who would and could help me keep my teeth. After 8 said NO WAY, Dr. Obeid was found through his teaching position at the University of Maryland, College of Dentistry. I needed serious attention. The magnitude of the work to be done to save my teeth started in a 6 hour session for the first quadrant of my mouth and was worked on continuously for the next 3 months. Dr. Obeid could have admonished me for neglect, said he couldn't or wouldn't help, however, he met me with a smile every time I arrived and worked within my budget and financial constraints to afford the work on a monthly rate. His wonderful and a caring "chair-side manner" is that of a genuine friend. I believe Dr. Obeid is a kindred spirit, an artist in ... "Dentistry!" After 11 years of his working on my teeth, Dr. Obeid has only made one personal comment, he remarked that having known how far I would go in his care, it would have been nice if he could have documented the work he had done in my case. If I had known myself, I would have given him my permission. Dr. Obied created procedures during my tenure with him that are now standard practice in the field. My teeth were paramount in my recovery, in improving my physical health, He created a place for emotional healing of my self-esteem by caring about the health and durability of my teeth, as well as their cosmetics, while I was working on a great many health issues. Even though I get compliments on my teeth all the time, only now am I asking the question, can we make them look a little better - sheer vanity on my part, but I'm a woman, you do the math. Four stars means I'm a fan !! Five stars when I've gotten the estimate and started the work, but I can see that a dental patient interested in quality would be verrrrry happy here. Expert staff and that's not even mentioning Dr. Obeid, who is extremely well-versed in his craft. The office for Obeiddental is gorgeous. If Steve Jobs designed offices, this is what it would look like. It's conveniently located near NIH, and the Chevy Chase Library, between CCL and TW Perry Hardware on CT Avenue, convenient validated parking. I had a comprehensive exam with Dr. Obeid. He provides a panoramic full mouth image which is available for view the minute you sit down for the consultation. My bad news was that the whitening technique wouldn't be of benefit. As I pointed out to him, my Good News is that his recommendation is covered by my medical savings plan. Cosmetic dentistry of any kind is not covered by savings plan, but caps to the teeth, are. It will work out well because I can get the work done late in the year, and then have the benefit again in January. Dr. Obeid spent alot of time with me, he was very pleasant to talk to, I had lots of questions and he took the time to give me all the information I needed to make a good choice. He is so knowledgeable and the subject so interesting that I suggested he make an instructional film to post to YouTube or something similiar. He said they were just about to do that, which is excellent. Once you hear the benefits of cosmetic dentistry (done right), anyone would want it. I haven't seen the cost plan for the 10-tooth estimate, but I won't need to be sitting down when I see it. I had a tooth extracted at my general family dentist (central incisor #24) in August 2014 due to a bone infection that eventually killed the root of my tooth. After going back and forth with several dental surgeons and maxillofacial specialists who have been inserting bone grafts and preparing the site for an implant for a year, I was turned away by several surgeons in the area when it was time to perform an implantation due to their discomfort or unfamiliarity with my extraction site. I was told by many that the site was too small, that the implant will fail, and even that the procedure was too difficult for them to perform comfortably. Finally, in June 2015 my dentist gave me Dr. Obeid's office number and suggested that I speak to his office staff about a possible consultation. The same day I called his office, I was able to speak to Dr. Obeid directly over the phone about my situation and he seemed quite confident after reviewing my records that he could perform the implant. I had a consultation the next day and within two weeks had an implant that looked exactly like my other teeth. Dr. Obeid was very compassionate with me and was able to insert an implant that not only was aesthetically pleasing, but was able to do so in such a short time-frame (I was getting married in September, so you could imagine my desire for a beautiful smile). I will always be grateful for Dr. Obeid and his friendly staff for restoring my smile, even after being turned away by so many other specialists in the same area. Now, entering 2016, my teeth have never looked or felt better! I can bite into apples, brush and floss normally, and appear as though I have never had a single dental procedure. My experience at Obeid Dental - Youssef Obeid, DDS was without a doubt the best I have ever received at any other clinics! I was refer to Dr Obeid due to big complication that was cause by other dentist and not many professionals want to deal with me to correct someone else mistake. From first phone conversation I did know that Dr.Obeid will be the one who can fix my problems and do not cause me more damage or side effects to my dental health. Keep in mind that I am out of MD state patient who needs to travel many hours to see Dr Obeid. Appointment was schedule on a short notice, and it's came on the snow storm season during the winter. My case was required special tools that is sold by small company only and not available in an easy access. Well company was closed due to the storm and Dr.Obeid went an extra miles to arrange everything pre or my arraval! I also received detail email from the clinic with suggested hotels that will fit all of my needs and located close to the clinic, with a driving directions and all possiable other amenities that I asked for. When I came to the clinic on my appointment date I was treated like a celebrity or like a most important person on a whole world. Staff was amazing and very friendly not just to me but also to my dog! Yes, Obeid Dental clinic is a dog friendly! Dr.Obeid is owner of a most beautiful, smart, service dog name Zeno! Clinic it self is a piece of art from design and decorations to there many amenities for local and out of state patients. The tools used in this clinic is not just up to date its above! Now I want to talk about professionalism and experience of Dr.Obeid:my appointment was on time, most of us do not like or like me scare from anesthesia injections, so it was done painlessly with out pre numbing! I've lived in the DC/Chevy Chase area all my life, seen countless local dentists and never have I been so impressed as I was with Dr.Obeid. From the moment I walked into the office I knew I was in good hands. For starters Dr. Obeid spared no expense in the office design and amenities--his ultra modern interior features plenty of natural light, plush sofas and elegant fixtures, making for a truly serene atmosphere (even the bathrooms were stunning, something I would have expected to see on HGTV.) Meanwhile the staff was extremely efficient and friendly. I was able to get in within a day of calling and the office assistant took plenty of extra time to answer all my questions and assist with paperwork. Dr. Obeid was right on time with virtually no waiting around (not that I would have mind, they have fabulous espresso.) What truly sets Dr.Obeid apart from other dentists however is his commitment to excellence. He took every extra precaution to ensure both my comfort and a successful outcome that exceeded my expectations. His attention to detail was remarkable and his expertise clearly surpassed that of any dentist I've seen before. The end result being that I've never felt better about my smile. I actually show my teeth in pictures now, and that was something I wouldn't have been able to do without Dr. Obeid. In the past I have gone to a dentist for check ups and cleaning; another dentist if I needed a root canal or filling; a periodontist for an implant or a prosthodontist for a crown, etc. Dr. Obeid truly provides one-stop service because he is highly qualified in all those fields - he uses the most up-to-date technology, and even makes the crowns, retainers, etc. in a facility in his office, which expedites the completion of any procedure. And he gives his patients his full, individual attention. I've spent hours in a dental chair waiting for the dentist as he runs from one patient to another. Not with Dr. Obeid. He takes one patient at a time and gives them his full attention. The office and service is impeccable and the most professional I have ever encountered, and at 76 I've been to innumerable dentists, periodontists, and prosthodontist for a wide variety of dental problems, but none measure up to Dr. Obeid's professionalism in any of those area. I have a number of serious dental issues, some of which have been causing pain, which I have been trying to take care of for a long time. One of them involved a bridge for a false tooth which had been created in another country as a temporary fix. I could not find a dentist who knew what to do to help me. My husband, a retired healthcare professional himself, was searching online for a dentist when he came upon Dr. Obeid. When he called during the weekend simply to see if he could leave a message, Dr. Obeid answered the phone. They spoke and my husband described my dental issues with him. Dr. Obeid told him to make an appointment to come in for a consultation which by the way, he offer free of charge. We came in the next week and oh, what a pleasant surprise. The office is very conveniently located in Chevy Chase right on Connecticut Avenue. We have never seen any health practitioner's office as elegant and striking as this one. It was immediately evident that someone had taken great pains to design such an organized, beautiful, modern office with interesting art work and so well appointed. He has state of the art equipment. When we came we were greeted by Jillian who immediately made us feel welcomed. Immediately, Dr. Obeid came out of his office and introduced himself. He was friendly, warm, and professional. First we sat down in the conference room where Dr. Obeid offered us fresh coffee or espresso which he made himself. He went over what he wanted to do which included an exam and dental x-rays including a panoramic view of my teeth. I got the impression that he was sincerely interested in helping me. He then brought me back to the exam room where his assistant, Andrea took the x-rays. Next came a thorough exam of my mouth. After the exam, he went over his findings with us. The first order of business would be to remove the bridge so he could examine the two teeth upon which the bridge had been placed to see the extent of damage causing the pain. I would need two implants. A right lower molar would need a root canal and crown or might have to be pulled and replaced with an implant. He told us he would send us a treatment plan by email. We then left feeling very impressed by Dr. Obeid's knowledge, thoroughness and his staff. He had spent a lot of time with us, much more so then any other healthcare practitioner I had ever visited; several hours, all of it useful. Very soon I received the treatment plan which was comprehensive. The prices were very, very reasonable especially for implants. At the next appointment he was able to remove the bridge working. I was simply amazed that he was able to do it because no general dentist wanted to deal with it. He then re-x-rayed and examined the two teeth which held the bridge. I was happy to hear that there was just some one small cavity on one of the teeth. The other was so damaged that it would need a crown. He proceeded to do the one restoration and prepare the other tooth for a crown. After making the impression, Dr. Obeid then called the lab and a man came into the exam room to pick up the impression. It turns out that Dr. Obeid has his own private lab with one professional technician. A dental patient should understand something. However hard a dentist may work, if the technician does not do a good job, the result will not be good. This is to say that the vision of the dentist will not be realized if the dental technician does not do a good job. Dentistry is in part an art on both the part of the dentist and the technician who makes the dental prosthesis. The process of making a crown is very complex involving many steps. Dental labs can have a hundred employees or two. Some have some automation. There are steps that must be done by hand including making the little indentations called characteristics. The American Public does not know that some dentists send their impressions to large laboratories outside of the United States, often China decreasing costs and increasing profit. Their quality is questionable. The bottom line is that Dr. Obeid has only one and only one technician who does his work affording consistency. The advantage is that Dr. Obeid and his patients, can be assured that the prosthetic will fit perfectly as it did in my case. At the next visit, the crown was placed easily. This is where my experience ends for now. I have the root canal, crown, and two implants as well as some other work which I need to have taken care of. I have absolute faith that the results will be just as good as the work I have already have done. I also learned that aside from being an experienced prosthodontist, he does general dentistry as well. There is a dental hygienist who at present comes there once a week. When I went to Obeid dental, Dr Obeid was very warm and attentive when I told him my reason for the visit. He kindly explained to me all the information I needed to know about my condition. He laid out a plan that was very convenient for me and that sounded less scary than I anticipated. He was able to work around my schedule whenever i rescheduled my appointments. He did an amazing job reconstructing my implant and now no one can tell that I am rocking an implant. The thing that drew me to his work was the fact that he is so patient and gives his patients time to think of what they want. He is such an expert at what he does that you can tell when operates around his patients. I love the office a lot, because the modern architecture in there is a plus for sure. He gave me an amazing payment plan that worked out great. I was so glad I found Dr Obeid because he perfected my smile and now all I can do is be grateful.
