Terrible experience -- they basically refused to see me because I couldn't get my x-rays sent over IMMEDIATELY from my prior dentist and I declined have a new set of complete x-rays (20+ x-rays total that insurance only covers every 3-5 years). They tried to tell me that they wouldn't charge me if my insurance didn't cover it but we all know that's a total lie. They had me sit in the chair for 45 minutes waiting to get my x-rays and all I wanted was to get my teeth cleaned! Warning: they charge a $5.50 fee for "covid ppe". Were they not cleaning the office before the pandemic three years ago? Were they not wearing face masks? I asked my friends and no one else's dentist is charging this fee. I had a horrible experience with the dental hygienist, she was inexperienced with performing x-rays and taking pictures. I liked the male dentist but Dr. Sahrai told me I needed Invisalign even though I didn't ask about it and my teeth are 95% straight. She immediately wrote up an order for it that I had to sign. They set up their automatic calls to call you at 8am to remind you about appointment which is way too early! read more

So happy to have found this dentist office! Clean, calming and relaxing (which isn't easy for a dentist's office). The staff is super sweet, and they take their time explaining imaging, your patient plan and even fit me in right away to take care of some fillings I needed done! Need to add that these were virtually painless! They also went over all payments and what was covered by my insurance before anything was started. I was very disappointed by this office and have never had a worse experience at a dentist making me feel compelled to write a review so that others are not misled by the only positive reviews here in the same way I was. I completely agree with the comment regarding "mechanic" process of sales. I was searching for a new dentist and found Blossom when moving to DC. Went in for a cleaning and after over an hour and a half of X-rays and sitting in a waiting room, the Dr. came in to alert me of over $2,800 of dental work that was necessary. She didn't have enough time to perform cleaning but was able to bill for X-rays. I felt like I was in a timeshare meeting when I was moved to a consultation office and given the high pressure sales tactics to sign a contract and acknowledgement form. I refused as there was no where on this form saying I would not be required to pay for such services and furthermore reiterated I would be liable if insurance doesn't pay. Because I wouldn't sign, it got to the point where it became extremely uncomfortable for everyone involved and there was no way I was willing to sign documents without a second opinion on such a hefty amount of work when I had absolutely no teeth sensitivity coming into the appointment. I ended up traveling back to my long-term dentist in NY for a second opinion and was alerted that no work was necessary, just a typical routine cleaning. Better yet I had to pay to get X-rays done twice since Blossom already billed my insurance for their borderline scammy work. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I pre-paid for services that were never rendered and then canceled my appointment with the appropriate time frame and this dentist still charged me a broken appointment fee and also charged to send my records to another dentist's office where I decided to get a second opinion. I am scheduled to depart on a31 day cruise and on the day before Thanksgiving and 5 days before leaving town I thought There might be something wrong with an implant. There was an emergency contact on the website but while this issue was urgent, I didn't want to disturb anyone on the holiday so I looked for the next available appointmen. I was thrilled that Monday was open and there was probably enough time to determine if I had a problem. Yay. Doesn't seem to be a problem. The office staff was lovely, especially Leo. at the reception desk. He had a sense of humor! The assistant was gentile and the dentist was thorough, listened, answered my questions, said I looked good and agreed to take me as a patient. This is great news since her office is next to my building! The only negative was the awful online patient registration form which I had to complete on my phone. Leo helped but since I am quite able, it was annoying to have to solicit assistance to complete a form. read more

They have the best appointment reminder systems in place (often enough for scatterbrained people like me to remember)! The office should have said prior to my appointment that they would bill my dental insurance and not my medical insurance which had my dental coverage. I had a cleaning and have never had to pay out of pocket. I had to pay for services my insurance would have covered. Office should be transparent about billing to patients. read more

I had a full exam and needs a referral for a wisdom tooth extraction. Dr. Sahrai abs her team were extremely knowledgeable, genuine and got me in and out as expeditiously as possible. I normally am not a fan of dentists but Dr. Sahrai is very gentle and kind. She also really knows her stuff and communicates very effectively. Absolutely love this office, when I tell you they are absolutely the best. I called into this practice at the beginning of the Pandemic in March. I was not a patient did not have a referral. The dentist herself Dr. Sahrai retuned my call via FT and was able to view my problem. Told me what to do for a temporary fix, which I did. I have referred my aunt who also loves her and of course she is now our family dentist, Dr. Sahrai is awesome and Johnathan is great. They are such a personable and friendly office. read more

Terrible experience trying to see this doctor as a new patient for a simple cleaning. I made an appointment, cleared my work schedule and completed the paperwork in advance. When I arrived at the office, I was informed that in order to be evaluated, I would need a complete set of x-rays and would have to pay out of pocket because my insurance wouldn't cover the cost. In talking with the receptionist, I explained that I have xrays and could provide them and asked her how hard it would be to get the xrays from my old dentist. She argued with me and told me "it's not my responsibility." I was given no forewarning that I would be expected to pay for xrays and was given no opportunity to provide the prior ones. I can't understand this and it was a huge waste of time. read more

There aren't enough superlatives for this new practice in the Watergate Office Building. Dr. Sahrai is an absolute gem - calm, reassuring, and professional. But for this lapsed patient (I decline to say how long it had been since my last visit to the dentist, but President Reagan may have been in his first term in office), the best feature that Dr. Sahrai brought to the table was her refusal to be judgmental. Instead she opted to focus on building a positive path forward, focused on taking care of any issues at hand and then planning for future care. She's genuinely concerned about the health of her patients, and her technique in the exam and treatment phase of my visit was top notch. Add to that the fact that her office space is charming and very comfortable, her staff is welcoming and helpful (thanks Emily!). If you're looking for a new dentist, you can't do any better than coming to Blossom Dentistry and putting your health in the hands of Dr. Sahrai. read more
