STAY AWAY!!!! I see how everyone wrote so many glowing reviews so I called Armen. I bought a pair of jeans and just needed it shorted with the original hem. I called him and you won't believe what he wants to charge for that...he said it would be between $150-$200 for one pair of jeans! That is a total rip off! I found another person in Encino for $20 who got 100 5 star reviews. If he can charge this much money which is more than the cost of the jeans for this simple job, I have no idea how anyone can recommend him! I was traveling for work and needed to wear a suit for a review; I had a few suits in my closet but one was too big and the other didn't fit right. I struggle to buy suits that fit me; my shoulders are broad and I have to make the decision to buy something that is too big but allows freedom of movement, or I can buy something smaller but really need to be careful about moving to avoid tearing my suit. I had never enlisted the services of a tailor and didn't know what to expect or whether it was worth the effort. If you haven't had the experience, I highly recommend it. I had a consultation on Monday and picked up both suits on Thursday. I couldn't believe how well the suits fit and how they changed my way of thinking about how clothing is supposed to fit. I won't lie, this is expensive but definitely quality and worth the expense. If you've had the experience of your clothing not fitting right, I'd highly recommend giving this a shot. read more

I had a difficult request - needed rush work, a mulberry silk gown with crystal embellishments that to be removed and reapplied in order to take in the sides. Additionally the straps had larger crystal embellishments and tricky metal that had to be removed and then resembled. An absolutely wonderful tailoring experience. My 12 year old son needed a new suit resized, and we brought it to Armen based on the reviews. Almost immediately, he told us the suit was two sizes too big, so he'd have to take it down a fair amount. We came back the following week when it was ready, and it fit him AMAZINGLY well. He looks exceptionally dapper in it. Armen also told us it would be no problem for him to resize it back up as he grew, so I think we'll be coming back sooner rather than later to do just that. The ease of the process, and the speed with which he measured him and accomplished the turnaround despite what is clearly a very busy workload, speaks to what is clearly a keen eye and an exceptional talent.
