We highly recommend Armor Tek Services for any home renovation or remodeling project. TC Chesser and his team are highly responsive, friendly, and polite. The construction crew was very fast and thorough and left every area of our yard and house looking clean after renovations were complete. After removing a 26-year-old two-story wood deck from our home that was riddled with dry rot, we were struggling to figure out a next step that fit into our budget. Replacing the deck was going to cost us upwards of $30k so we started looking into other options. Throughout our research process, TC was very helpful and readily available to answer all my questions about design ideas and building permits etc. When we decided to replace our upstairs door with a window instead of putting in a deck, TC was able to quickly come out to view our home in person and take measurements; he also sent an invoice shortly afterward. The entire process only took a few days once our new window was ordered. The main foreman Antonio was especially friendly and easy to work with. We were impressed at how closely the stucco repairs match our original stucco exterior and the interior areas look like they've always been there as they are so seamless. The crew even put in extra hours the first day of renovations to make sure everything was watertight before a big rainstorm hit. First off, I don't write a lot of reviews anymore but I felt this one was worth letting others know because it's tough to find an amazing contractor, at least in San Diego. We've had our house remodeled, had an office studio built in our backyard among other big projects we've had done at our grandma's home. One must always remember cheap is never a good thing nor is the most expensive. There is always a balance.. I'll start by saying my husband is one of the leading Commercial Claims litigators in the US for 26 years. So he knows not only what to look for but also has access to an internal insurance system on just about every company out there who has claims against them. We had that going for us when narrowing down who to interview to install a complex french drain system around our entire home. Unfortunately, he is unable to write reviews due to his company's rules. So, I'm doing it. We interviewed, got opinions and quotes from six different contractors specializing in french drainage systems and repair/restoration on the property. In January 2023, San Diego got record flooding. Our house built in 1941, has always had an advantage that it sits on top of a canyon. Yet our crawl space under the house flooded for the first time ever. It was determined that the cause was from neighbors on each side of us concreting their backyards and building ADUs without proper drainage. Our massive 6000 square foot back yard ended up with the water from their property plus ours flowing under our back patio and into our crawl space. We remediated the damage and took the dry season to interview five different contractors on solving the issue from ever flooding again. Arbor Tek was, by far, the most knowledgeable on how complex this project was going to be by the amount of digging it would take to properly create a french drain system around the house while avoiding the various irrigation, large plants, and working UNDER a sidewalk to get the drain all the way to the street. Not to mention the odd slope of our property. With my husband's vast knowledge from his career, he oversaw each step. It takes a lot to impress my spouse when it comes to this line of work, but TC, the owner of Armor Tek and Rich, pulled off an amazing feat of engineering. Any questions or concerns were immediately answered and solved. Each day, they went over exactly each step they were doing that day and they always followed through with it. So I have no hesitation in writing this review. I hope TC and his crew see it as I feel incredibly fortunate to have found an excellent construction company in San Diego that not only shows up on time but also gets the project done on time and on budget. We had discovered mold in our downstairs bedroom that came from a leak from the upstairs bathroom. Armor Tek was prompt and responsive to our needs. The whole process was explained in detail and there were no surprises with the cost. TC is great to work with and stays in constant communication. We needed to rent our house after our jobs relocated us for 6 years. We used a local team first to get the house ready for renting. After over $13K, the house was still not ready and the paint job was awful. (They did do a couple of things pretty good - not ALL terrible.) But they couldn't get us to the rental ready condition and they already had been "working" on it for 6 months. By this time we were broke and our property manager suggested we use Armor-Tek. TC was so gracious and listened to all the problems and fixed EVERYTHING both started and untouched. He and his team finished in 2 weeks!! His prices reflect the quality of his work - but we already went "cheap" the first time. I don't have pictures, but hope to post them when we get back out there. Things we really appreciate in TC: He is Christian, he is a US Veteran, his work is top-notch, and his moral compass points in the right direction. I intended to get a quotation and I got someone that doesn't even know what his own name or the business lol... He was eager to come to my home and continued asking to come up ..then I got suspicious and told him that I need more details about his services ?? he refused and hung up. ( Don't know if the owner is fully certified with the BBB and what cost is around $500 per year anyone can pay and register with them. Mr. what you need to realize it's the people are not just your dudes therefore, you need to be more respectful and watch out the way you talk to others. We have used the services of TC several times now, in three homes. We find no reason to go elsewhere, as reliability, and having the job done right is our top priority. Their price is always fair, and comparable to others, whenever we decided to compare bids. I decided to write this review because the last job they did for us was very complex, they did it great. I wouldn't have trusted anyone else to do it. Many painters can paint an exterior or interior walls. We challenged them with painting two walls of built in shelving that was covered in white vinyl. The prep work was critical, and required intensive surface preparation, just to be able to get paint to adhere.They completed the job with a beautiful, artistic, faux finish, and were able to have all the pairs of thin boards look as single, substantial appearing ones. TC and the crew were professional and did a great job. I would highly recommend them for any painting job. We had the exterior of our home painted a year ago with the upgraded Stretchguard System, and it still looks like new. They also removed an air conditioner that was built-in to the wall and sealed up the interior and exterior - no hint on the wall that it was even there. The missing star in the rating was because of a leaky outdoor skylight over the front entrance that was unable to be repaired. They did come out to try the repair 3 more times without additional charge, so props for that. But, it still leaks. So, painting and wall repairs - 5 stars.
