My daughter was planning her wedding two years out. We got down to a year and a month before the wedding and her fiancé backed out my husband and I were making payments and they told us that our money would not be refunded. I understand keeping a deposit, but our money should've been refunded because they are able to book it being as they still have a year and a month The people they're very hard to get back to you and no compassion. I cannot say enough positive things about our Venue, Armstrong Farms. Andy and Kristi were so helpful the entire way through re-planning and providing options, to ensuring that the day went off without a hitch. Kristi is the Manager at the Venue and ended up also being my coordinator and was FABULOUS! She answered probably 100 emails from me over the course of 2 years and especially the past 8 months always responded quickly and always in a positive way (to some insane questions! Lol) The property speaks for itself and they take pride in keeping it in perfect condition for all their events. Would recommend this Venue 100 times over! read more

I went here for a wedding yesterday. Maybe it was because the weather was so gorgeous (65 degrees, not a cloud in the sky), but this place was the perfect place for an outdoor wedding. We were at the Westminster Preserve, and the wedding ceremony took place down along the pond where there is a little gazebo of sorts. A couple of geese got overly friendly with the guests during the ceremony, which added a novel dimension without being annoying. The reception took place in the barn; food and drinks were out on the covered deck and tables were set up both on the deck and inside the barn itself. It was a very memorable wedding. I don't know if they do their own catering or if it came from somewhere else, but whoever did it, the potato pancake appetizers and soft pretzels were fantastic. Anyhow, my wife told me she wants her 40th birthday party here, so we're both in agreement that the venue was wonderful. It took us about an hour from the south hills to get there... it's very rustic. Very well maintained. There is a wonderful sign that reads: "Do not cross this field unless you can run it in 9.9 seconds... our bulls can do it in 10 flat." read more

I got married in the Fieldstone barn of Armstrong Farms last summer. Yes, the location is beautiful. Having said that, the whole experience of planning and realizing the wedding there was pretty bad. A bad review that has to do with a wedding might just get attributed to a "bridezilla terror bride" - but I would just like to lay out some facts here of how things went, so that you can make up your own mind: On our first appointment, Kathy (the owner) showed up 40 minutes late and could not be reached by phone. She apologized profusely and assured that she is never late. However, I afterwards read on other websites that this is more like her "signature thing" - and it happened more often then not in future appointments. She was very hard to get a hold of by phone (even mobile) - and called me back I think twice of the many times I left messages and asked her to call me. The day of the wedding, some people who we didn't invite drove up and walked in - it turned out that she made an appointment with another couple who wanted to check out the place. This was one of the things that ticked me off most - after all, we had all our stuff laying around. Ironically, after a while this couple asked us where Kathy was because they had an appointment with her half an hour ago... The "wedding package" you automatically buy (and pay for!!) includes make-up and hair-do (great if you are in the middle of no-where where you don't know anyone, I thought), full coordination the day of and time before the wedding, camp fire after the wedding, and some other things. The person she told me to call about the make-up (after I reminded her that it was in the contract) had no idea that she was supposed to be available that day - and actually cancelled on me about 2 weeks before the wedding because she couldn't make it after all. Furthermore, Kathy kept changing who was going to be there as coordinator on the day of the wedding and didn't remember what she had said before. Same with the lay-out of the tables in the barn - she seemed confused about some explicitly and repeatedly-discussed requests. The camp fire after the reception was really something I was looking forward to. Well, when it got dark, the camp fire consisted of a fire ring with no wood until we called Kathy several times. She stopped by with some wood but no fire starters and told us that she isn't really good with making fires... It took us a good while to get the fire going, and by that time some of my family was ready to go to bed. All in all, Kathy is a nice, friendly, well-meaning lady but completely not up for the job. Her attention to detail is lacking and she seems to take a rather lackadaisical, everything-will-take-care-of-itself approach, which is not what most brides would want or expect. She seems to rely on the venue itself to carry the day, and in some ways it did, but not without a lot of headaches and frustration leading up to the big day. Again, it's a very nice venue, but I got so frustrated with her that it definitely took away from the day. I felt like I just couldn't trust her with anything. read more

Words cannot express how happy we were with our experience at Armstrong Farms. The Fieldstone barn is a gorgeous setting for a wedding. Our pictures around the property are stunning. The landscaping is manicured so well. The accommodations were great for our out of town bridal party who didn't have to pay for hotel rooms. The best part of our wedding process was working with Andy. He was the most accommodating, patient, pleasant coordinator we could have asked for. Anything we wanted he made happen, no questions asked and always with a smile. It is refreshing to work with someone who does their job because they love it. My only wish is that I could relive it all over again because we had such a wonderful time and are so very pleased with every detail. read more
