I have so many memories here, from my landscaping projects to my indoor plant obsession. (I owned 53 individual house plants at one time) The staff here is so amazing and knowledgeable. I came in with my cousin and niece to get some inspo for a rock garden and multiple members of staff came to check in on us, give advice, and made us feel so welcome. They even offered to call other stores to see if we needed additional items not at this location. We left with huge smiles!

Incurable selection! I went for privacy trees but also got some beautiful ground cover and a planter full of herbs. Definitely a bit more expensive than a local Home Depot but the quality of plants is so much higher - I haven't had any issues with my plants! Will return for the serene vibe and fabulous selection.

Selection , space and parking are good, but general vibes and friendliness are much better at both the Glendale and La Cañada locations.

very bad customer service. we ask a guy (Audel) to help us find some indoor plants, and he pointed us to go inside the store and ask someone inside. no one there to help us, and then he showed up and help us load the plant we picked in the cart. We decided to get ceramic pot to put the plant in and he followed us. So while we are picking some pot, he excused himself and told us he is coming back and never showed up again. We asked another person to help us (JJ). This is the third time Ive been to this branch and workers there always preoccupied with what they do and seldom interact with the customers. Go to Monrovia branch. they are more helpful.

If you go too fast and aren't paying attention, you will pass this place up. That's what happened to us. Finally parking on the street, we walked through the front doors of this beautiful property that I didn't feel like I was in a Garden Center. The building is beautiful and the grounds so serene that you really feel that you are in some park enjoying the plants! This place is so chill and relaxing that I could have spent a few more hours napping on their patio furniture!

Skyscraper salvia and petunias I got today at this Armstrong.

Much better this time around. I was greeted and asked if I needed assistance and I was directed to exactly what I needed. I ended up creating a couple more planter arrangements than I needed to this time around with what I bought at Armstrong. I will definitely be coming back.

There are several major north-south roads in this area, and Rosemead Boulevard is one of them. San Gabriel Boulevard is another. The road is wide and easy to drive. The nursery is right across the street from Com Tam Kieu Restaurant, one of the better Vietnamese broken rice restaurants in Southern California. On the way there, I passed a construction site, probably a new apartment building. It strongly gave me the impression of an EB-5 green card project, the kind of real estate development marketed less as a normal apartment building and more as an immigration investment package for Chinese buyers. In the middle of the SGV, that feeling was hard to miss. After that came the nursery. I drove from north to south, made a left turn onto a smaller street, and parked outside. The entrance is tiny. You walk through it and immediately reach the counter, where there was even a line. After that, you pass into an indoor room stocked with fertilizers, plant stakes, soil, mulch, and other gardening supplies. Beyond that is the back garden, which is much larger than expected and quite elegant. The plants are clearly well cared for, and the stone sculptures give the place a strong hint of Chinese culture. Along the edge of the main building, there are stacks of Buddha heads, seated Buddhas, and other stone figures, mostly in Chinese Buddhist or imagined Buddhist styles, though not necessarily following any strict traditional standard. There are Chinese signs everywhere, which makes sense for a nursery in the middle of the SGV. Many of the plants have bilingual names. The prices are not cheap, but they are fair. The orchids are much more expensive than what you would find at Trader Joe's or Costco, but they are also more beautiful and much stronger, so I would not call them overpriced. The plants use different colored tags, similar to what you see in many American discount stores. Some are very cost-effective. It is definitely worth stopping by, and even more worth it if you happen to find some good discounted plants. The cashier was a little rude, but as a Chinese person, I found it completely acceptable. I have seen much worse. Even though she was in a rush, the service was not bad. She even gave me an extra bag so the soil would not spill in my car. Overall, this is a good nursery and I would recommend it. It is even better if you understand Chinese culture, because many of the details will make more sense.

We hired them for a full backyard Reno with full wall of ficus trees, full DG backyard with gravel edges, and a wood fence. Everything was going smoothly with scheduling and communication. When the actual work got started, I noticed the DG was not high-quality. It contained a lot of large rocks. Also, they were not digging out enough dirt before laying the DG. I had to bring that up to the foreman and they did dig up some more dirt before laying the DG. When the work was done, a foreman did a quick walk-through with me and I thought everything looked good. We were told not to walk on the wet DG for a day or two. So two days later when I did a better inspection, I started to notice a lot of shotty work. Specifically with the bender board dividing the gravel and I noticed that they used really small nails for the wooden fence. They did come back a month later to fix the DG because there were areas that were "bouncy", as if not enough DG was laid down. They had to dig up big rocks that were preventing the DG from compacting and they laid more DG on some areas. They also tried to fix some bender board problems, but they did a really horrible job. Three months later, some wood planks on our wood fence start curving and popping up. I called the company because our DG and our fence are under a year warranty. Jake asked me to email him with photos and he said he would call back to schedule a day for repair. Since then I have not heard back from them; they have completely ghosted me. I waited a month then I started calling and no one will pick up the phone. I've left messages and I sent text messages to project manager, Amanda, who was great at communication at first, but now has completely ghosted me as well. Meanwhile, we're still paying monthly for this backyard that is falling apart way too quickly. I'm going to just hire someone to fix the fence before it damages further. I would not recommend them again. Completely overpriced for what you get.
