I love coming here! Everybody is so friendly and helpful. They have a huge variety of fruit trees & herbs. You can also finds lots of succulents and tropicals. They have a large variety of sprays and fertilizers to properly maintain your plants. Just left very happy with my first begonia, a Jacklyn alocasia & a hoya Eskimo. Definitely come here if you're looking for a good quality plant. Every time I go I see the employees keeping and maintaining their plants; watering, pruning & moving them. We unfortunately lost our baby Chloe (Bulldog) to cancer earlier in the day. And we wanted to keep our tradition of having flower beds in our backyard for the fur babies we have lost. Chloe was our first and only Bulldog and I wanted something lovely. Macho, our youngest Bulldog immediately sensed her passing and we couldn't just leave him at home. This was his first field trip without his sister. As soon as we walked inside the gates, staff just flocked to us wanting to say hello to Macho. We explained our visit- and I wish I knew the name of the gal who assisted us (7/31/25). I knew for Chloe's flower box, lavender was gonna look beautiful next to our plumerias. I'm so accustomed to lavender with the tiny buds. And when my eyes locked onto the Primavera shrub- I knew THAT was the one! Spanish Lavender (Butterfly). The deep purple/ burgundy colors are so bold. When you're standing in front of all the lavender shrubs, the scent takes over. As for Bronx's flower box- we sadly bought his box a few years ago and never placed it in our garden area. It sat empty next to our Tuff Shed. I told hubby- our visit here is gonna be the trip we maintain all of our flower boxes. I originally planned on dragon fruit for Bronx- which I still have in the pot. And I just didn't have the energy to maintain that. So, during our drive to Armstrong- bell peppers popped into mind. And when I brought that up to the associate- we beelined to the vegetable section and she pointed out the Dragonfly variety. I have never seen a deep purple bell pepper in my life! Since hubby had the cart with a flower box- the employee mentioned I could fit three plants. So, I picked the Dragonfly, Cali Wonder, & Red Beauty. We explained the dimensions of the other two flower boxes at home- since they're not the same. The cashier helped us pick out the succulent and potting soil mixes. We grabbed many bags and as he rung up our purchase- he mentioned we can return any unused bags! There's a shelf next to the cashier that has ladybugs in a container and I figured why not?! Not as crazy busy with trucks and cars all over the place as Home Depot. And prices are not as economical as I expected. The garden outside and all its plants are actually organized and clean looking. The holiday decor definitely brings out life in any retail store. I did enjoy shopping here. This has become my new happy place! I absolutely love coming here. All of the employees are knowledgeable and helpful. My plant game has really escalated since I've been coming to this nursery in the last couple months. Everything I have bought from here has been so healthy. Plus the people that work here have given me really good tips on trying to salvage in a recuperate a fiddle leaf fig that was damaged during recent work on my home. The set up of the nursery is so beautiful and calming to my senses that to be honest, even if I wasn't thinking about buying anything I could just come here and walk around and look at the gorgeous plants and feel joy. I don't want to hate on this place, because there's great selection of both plants and gardening equipment, but I was bummed out by not getting any help. I'm a total novice when it comes to plants, so I don't want to just make a snap decision. I went on Sunday morning at 10:30, so it was fairly light with customers. After walking around aimlessly looking for the ground cover plants I gave up and left. I wish there was a help desk or some friendlier staff who would reach out to me. We used their landscape design service to redo or front yard. Samantha Sinowitz was the designer assigned to our project. She was great. She met with us to see what kind of changes we wanted to make. She helped us pick out plants of various sizes, shapes and colors that had similar light and watering needs and would be particularly attractive to birds, butterflies and bees. She also helped us design some hardscape features to include. She then came up with a very attractive design blending everything together. Once the plants arrived, Samantha worked with the landscape contractors to see that everything was placed properly. Rude salesperson claimed to be a plant scientist and that a root bound Russian Sage was perfectly healthy and would grow well after planting. Definitely not knowledgeable about plants. She dismissed my concerns about the potential of the plant in my landscape saying that she, too, was a plant scientist! I called the location from the parking lot and asked for a plant scientist and the woman asked for what -- indoor plants, flowers, shrubs? Lol. This is a corner lot gem of the Armstrongs imo in the city. Armstrong is competitive among the other nurseries so to each their own liking of what plants, and treasures to find. This is a go to place for a few reasons. Lady bugs!! Call ahead to see if they are in stock, they fly off the shelf..... well... Lady bugs fly, don't worry though they are in a container....heh get it?? Fly off the shelf....*crickets chirping * no?? Guess why I'm not a very good comedian haha. Anyways!! The fountains selection is crazy phenomenal! And they are all flowing working and clean!! They really take very good care of this place. Great spot to bring the toddlers and walkers just to dip their hands in and have fun. Plus when the spinners are fully sticked, they go nuts! The plants are in abundance fully stocked and well kept. Prices are very subjective during these times...it's hard to really guage what's in range. So I'm not much help here...if I see and feel good about it, I get it....if not...meh. They have furniture umbrellas and everything put together, they seem to cycle through alot of it, everytime we come there's something new or is gone. So if you like it, better grab it. Florals for weddings are expensive, so I was trying to brainstorm ideas for how to maybe save some money/spend money on plants that could last long after our wedding day. I realized that we could probably place potted plants down the aisle, repurpose them for our reception, and send them home with guests. I spoke with Jose from customer service, who helped me (along with Oscar) find 20 white pots & put me in touch with Stacey who found 20 beautiful azaleas for us & potted them with care. Beware purchasing indoor plants here, I purchased an indoor Kentia palm and got it home, had to trim the entire plant of brown tips, and then observed the new frons coming in distorted, as it turns out, the plant was infested with mites. I am surprised Armstrong Morena doesn't do a more professional job inspecting their plants. I purchased the NeeMAX product at my expense and am trying to nurse it back to health. No one seemed to be so concerned about the quality of their plants or vendors. read more

We were house plant shopping in San Diego and chanced on this place. The setup of the place was clean and organized. The outdoor plants were setup by kind. All succulents were spread out over one area with some unique ones like the string of bananas I got. I also got some indoor plants like the peace lily, the peperomia frost and the ficus lirata. There is attention to detail, and there's much more care put into every little thing. You feel safer buying larger plants (like fruit trees) here too. Over the past couple of days my husband and I have been searching everywhere for patio furniture and accessories. To put on our new deck. Apparently, this is the end of the season for those kinds of things so the selections are small. In our search we found this location of Armstrong Garden Centers. This location is so lovely and from the moment you enter you feel welcomed. The merchandise and displays are comforting. Plenty of plants and gardening supplies: seeds, tools, pots, soil, decorating accessories and super friendly customer service. David is an amazing sales person. He was pleasant, helpful, funny and just as excited as we were when we found patio furniture that we loved. When making our purchase he signed us up for an awards program that gives you a $25 dollar credit per every $625.00 spent. We were so pleased that Armstrong Garden Centers delivers (for a small fee) because this purchase would not have fit in our Pathfinder. A couple of days later we returned to Armstrong and with the credit we were able to purchase two additional end tables (that happened to be on sale 30%off) that work perfectly with our patio set. read more

I am not the best with keeping plants alive, even the ones that are "hard to kill". I have been in and out of this place so many times and had the pleasure of working with Kim today. She is very knowledgable and has the creative eye for creating succulent gardens. She spent time picking out the perfect succulents that work best with the lighting the plants will receive in addition to keeping in mind what I like. The succulents here are a bit more expensive, but the employees specialize in plants and focus on taking great care of them. They are opening a succulent area for customers to plant their own succulents and I got to see a sneak peak of it today! I would absolutely recommend Armstrong Garden Centers as their customer service and expertise really are worth the price you pay! read more
